This is easily the best Batman figure that I've seen to date (be it 1/6th scale or 1/4th scale). The head sculpt is spot on as far as resembling actor Christian Bale. The texture work on the face and the facial pores are very impressive. The hair is nicely sculpted all the way down to the individual hair strands. The eyes are suppose to be a dark green instead of brown, but that's just a minor complaint. The suit itself looks great and it is nicely detailed with some very impressive mesh work and stitching. The paint application is exceptional. The figure comes with a lot of accessories, which is always appreciated. The display base looks great as well. If there is anything to dislike it would be the stock cape that comes included with it. As you've already mentioned, a velvet cape looks much better. It turns things up another notch as far as quality and presence are concerned. Hot Toys definitely went all out with this 1/4th scale The Dark Knight Rises Batman figure and it clearly shows in the final product. With that aside, thanks once again Dean for another stellar video. I always appreciate the dedication and hard work. Keep it up my friend!
All Things Considered, Could be the Greatest Hot Toy ever made? The head sculpt is unreal.
Excellent work once again Dean. Those Ruby cameos always add a heartwarming moment. I enjoyed listening to your thoughts about the suits and the depiction of Gotham in the trilogy. I agree with you on both fronts. Gotham should always be dark, gritty, filthy, heaving, with lots of old architecture, gargoyles, and rain lashed sky's. The only reason why I prefer The Dark Knight is because of the Joker and that the film reminds me a lot of one of my other favourite films, Heat. The BB suit has a supernatural presence about it, and with its bulk and outline casts far more unsettling shadows and silhouettes.
Objectively, this has to be one of Hot Toys best releases - it ticks so many boxes, particularly the likeness, attention to detail, and the consideration that was given to the extras (bang for buck!!). It set quite a benchmark. As for Bale and Ledger's stature, Bale is listed as being 6 foot. As with Henry Cavill, I'd peg him as being just under 6 foot. Heath looked like he was a good 6'1, maybe taller. The posture that he adopted for the Joker can give people the wrong impression about his height.
Best 1/4 figure
I'm in 2 minds wether to pick this up or not. The re issue looks amazing as well, but I'd rather have accessories over the gargoyle base you get in the re issue. 🤔
You've convinced me to buy the re-issued QS Dark Knight along with the 1/6 scale Begins suit ( which I had no intention of getting until I saw this video) because you are correct that it does look more animalistic! Will look great with Battinson, Keaton Batman and Batfleck (which I will also buy whenever they decide to reissue or come out with new figures for both). Keep up the good work!

@DeanKnight333 One of your pictures is what convinced me to get the DX-12 all those years ago. I always wanted to pick this up too. If it wasn't going for a grand pr more this video would be the thing that finally convinced me to pull the trigger. 😂

It’s interesting to hear your thoughts about Batman Begins. I always knew it was your favorite, but i never knew why. I agree with you 200%, but for me, TDKR comes out on top, but again for personal reasons. It’s a movie that came out in a very dark time of my life, and to see someone like Bruce Wayne who seemed to be bound to spend his life being depressed, finally come to terms with his past and move on, just made me broke into tears. Bale sooooo should have received an Oscar for his performance in Rises. Still though, Begins is an epic masterpiece and I love Ra’s Al Ghul, I love how although being a villain, you can feel his pain and how some events in his life made him become what he was. And yes, Begins suit will forever be the most badass.
Oh wow this is beautiful. Yet another collectible I wished I'd taken the plunge for and bought at release. Prices on the secondary market are high!

Ive held out on 1/4 scale up until this point. This is a proper solid piece though. Id love if they did a 1/4 Knightmare batman. Maybe even having the full regular suit underneath. That would make me pull the trigger

I have never been able to collapse the sticky bomb gun which is very annoying

Love your work. Your music and your logo creep me out though (the music in a good way). Regarding the height, Bale is 6 feet while Ledger was 6' 1''.

Thanks very much. I get the music from the UA-cam creators music list, but I mess with the tracks a lot, so you may not recognize them if you hear the originals. I slow a lot of the tracks down a hell of a lot, and also play around with the pitch. Occasionally, I make the music myself.

I just unboxed the new 1/4 TDK and boxed right back up to return. Batman's ankles were WEAK SAUCE could not stand on his own and fell over like a sack of potatoes. I like stands but they should not be required for a 1/6 or 1/4 to stand upright without. I will be trying to hunt down this version now. Does the QS001 still stand up today literally? Please confirm if the ankles are ratchet here please and or at least stiff.

Do you think that hot toys will ever make a 2.0 version of this figure? I want one to go with my joker but the prices on the secondary market are ridiculous. I guess the Batman Begins one could work as well.
I doubt it. Typically, 2.0's come about when either Hot Toy's go for a new look with the figure (DX01 to DX11) and provide different accessories, or when they know they can take things to another level from their previous versions e.g. Ripley, Robocop. Aside from the cape that comes with this piece, it's difficult to think of how much better HT's can make it, and like Dean said, it comes with pretty much everything that you'd want from TDK and TDKR. It'd be nice if Hot Toys would re-release earlier products like this, but they strike me as being one of those companies that are already reallocating their resources pretty much as soon as a new figure has been released.

@@dangiambrone7350 or when they know they can milk it to hell - Infinity War. Bank Robber Joker 2.0 was a figure that deserved a second release although I still prefer the original & wish I had it. Harvey Dent/Two-Face is another that could do with one
I don't consider Ripley taking it to a new level, 2.0, rerelease etc as it's from a totally different movie. Robocop was one of their first releases but they never learned from their previous mistake of ED-209 by using that rubber on the top
this is a collector's game. I can't stand people moaning about wanting a figure to be released again just because they missed out the first time & don't want to pay secondary prices, especially for figures that only came out a year ago!

@Stiffkittens, so on the one hand you "can't stand people moaning about wanting a figure to be released again", and then on the other you're saying that the Hot Toys BR Joker 2.0 and Harvey Dent deserved a re-release? There's nuance when it comes to the moaners: for instance, not all of them are moaners. They could be people that only just discovered Hot Toys only recently, or that the pre-orders/stock sold out because Hot Toys didn't manufacture enough and put their resources -- as you said -- towards 'milking the hell' out of other licenses. I don't think that the OP was moaning, or showing a sense of entitlement, I perceived their comment as a case of wishful thinking.
It's such a shame about Ed-209 as I would very much like to get a hold of one of those at some point.
Technically, you are correct about the latest Ripley being based off a different film, but it felt like a 2.0 to me because I'd be very surprised if Hot Toys make another 'Aliens' Ripley., and it was a huge improvement over their first effort.
