My husband is 74 and I'm 64. I've been making alot of adaptations around our home. I love my battery operated tools, even have a small chainsaw. Making adaptations to our home as well. I'm on winter time as well. I used to walk at 6:30 am but now I'm more like 8 or 9, when it warms up a little bit. You are so right about making smart choices, slow down a bit, stay safe on simple things like stairs, bathing, etc. Concentrate on staying healthy, better diet and exercise. I tell people now, Its a full time job trying to stay alive after 60. LOL.
Despite losing my job unexpectedly at the age of 39, with $425,000 saved for retirement, $10,000 in an HSA, and a house worth another $200,000, I'm looking for methods to supplement my income. What are some of the most promising alternatives?
I'm wondering if I should merge all of my investing accounts into one. How should I proceed and are there any repercussions I should be aware of if I decide to do this? In addition, I plan to sell my property, which could result in an additional 200K over time. Is it better to diversify over a few different industries or combine everything into one investing account?
These are crucial questions for a financial planner. I met mine at a NYSE summit, and with her help, my wife and I reallocated our $1.7M portfolio between a traditional IRA and a brokerage account. She’s been making investments with our approval and has helped us recover twice our losses. We’re holding steady and carefully navigating more markets
Keep on rockin' the four A's Big Steve. Congrats on over 4k subs. I bet in those early videos you never dreamed of having this much interest in your channel. Well done!
Another good topic Steve. I'm not sure how old you are, but I noticed another notch downward after 60. That was a few years ago, so my limits are setting in more now. I'm recognizing them and doing the best I can with daily workouts, but like you said, father time takes over and we're not as good as we once were. I'm accepting that, and no longer try and overdo it. I think it was Joe Kuhn (just Joe) who mentioned his M-O as a former high energy guy caught up in the grind is to now get one thing done per day, if he feels like it! I like that plan, and on weekends, since I'm still working, I don't try to do too much - just get one thing done per day. Anything more is bonus and certainly will require a nap! Thanks for another good video!
At 55 i had to go to battery powered weed eater. Got tired of trying to pull start mine and its a small but good change. Easier on the back. I try to make all trips driving as little as i can and plan all stops in an efficient route. Take monthly withdrawal instead of quartely and adapt my budget monthly if need be. Little changes add up. Great video. Another A I added is...ax the gurus videos on here. They start out, I'm a financial advisor. Make 3 vids on how you can retire early at 55 to the end of the world is just around the corner. Uggghhh naysayers that probably never worked in a factory their entire life.
Helloooooo Steve! Love your opening words. Great video but you can add another “A”. “A” for “Asking”. Ask for advice, help, and just plain Why? If the lady still has problems with her weed eater going battery power or electric. You can suggest a trimmer sling or harness that will relieve the heavy weight. Go Green Bay!
It’s really heartbreaking to see how inflation and recession impact low-income families. The cost of living keeps rising, and many struggle just to meet basic needs, let alone save or invest. It’s a reminder of the importance of finding ways to create financial opportunities. You've helped me a lot sir Brian! Imagine i invested $50,000 and received $190,500 after 14 days
Right now I’m still good, l can still cut my own yard, house work ie clean etc, but my concern is shoveling the snow during winter months ( l take my time) I’ll eventually have to purchase a snow blower, and battery powered leaf blower, lawn mower too, l don’t want to deal with gas and maintenance of gas powered anymore etc, the yard work is good exercise, plus l ride my bicycle etc.
Now that you brought it up, I’d hire someone to clean your gutters this year. If it’s on your mind, you shouldn’t press your luck! :) Big fan from Texas. 54 and I can see the light!
Don't let the old man in. I just painted the exterior of my house this spring 2 story brick on bottom all painting was 2nd story, I used a 3 stage baker scaffold I purchased from Home Depot. About 80 hours of work, while still working full time, I'm only 63.😂😂😮😮
Hey Steve. Always enjoy your talks. I am curious if you and I have something else in common, other than quitting our jobs at the same time and around the same age. You know what the BIGGEST surprise about this stage of life has been for me? I am still me. I mean, honestly, my body has changed, but my hobbies, outlook and personality remain the same as when I was 8 years old. And when I was that little kid, man, I thought being an adult would FEEL totally different. It doesn't. I'm still me. I honestly feel like a kid who is now getting away with living as an adult without the burden of a job. : D

it's reasonable to consider hiring a financial counselor at this stage, but delaying retiring for a while may be a more wiser choice

great! My portfolio is not doing well. Who is your professional?
June Renae Matthysse. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment

Congrats on 4K subs Steve. I have to admit, when I read the four A’s, I got nervous.😂😂😂

Great talk Steve! We all have to learn to roll with the punches! We got gutter guards a few years back. Great investment
Great job as always!!! Great content as well!!!
Seems to me accepting the reality of not being able to do what we once could do is the hardest.
Very true. You just learn to do things slower and safely.

I've got the k guard upfront and the leaf guard screen installed on the back..

You had a 10 year old Chromebook? Wow! I bought 2, different brands, and they only lasted three months each.
🤘

Alliteration can be our friend or our enemy.
