Only issue I have with this pedal is the input jack and power placement. Any chance on releasing (maybe a v2 of) the pedal with top mounted jacks? I'd help a lot and most high-end pedals have their inputs on top nowadays, saves quite a bit of space.
i dont own this pedal, but my line 6 helix has this pedal modeled into it. and it's really awesome on there. they must have got it really close because all the controls work exactly the same. i use this pedal with any distorted patch i make now. it seems to be able to make any good metal tone better.
I have a peavey 6505+ and I usually keep the gain at around 4-5, but the gate that’s built in the pedal isn’t good enough to completely kill the extra feed back going on so I’m having to use a whole other noise gate pedal. I also use the recommended settings for the pedal. Should I do anything differently so that I don’t have to rely on another noise gate to keep it tight and quite?
Is it possible on this pedal to get high gain tone when connected to the clean channel of the amp? Very interesting to see the video settings of the pedal on the clean channel.
Soooo if you plug this in a 5150iii, scoop the mids, crank bass, highs, presence and gain, turn on the presiciondrive the brightknob to zero, max out everything else and the attack all the way to the left we will have the ultimate stoner doom sound right? Plz do that
I have been thinking about investing in this pedal, But it would be my first. Im looking for overdrive (my practice amps overdrive is quite weak). Would this give me decent overdrive, or should i invest in an overdrive pedal first? Im seeing distortion pedals for around 50, but i dont have enough for both (as this one is just over 200). If someone could give me some advice i would love you forever.
Get yourself a TC electronic mojo mojo. Only like £44 quid and excellent for the price. A great overdrive to cut your teeth on. The precision drive looks very good, but I'm very wary about how many people seem to think it will solve their tone issues and turn them into Monsieur Mansoor. You can get really nice bluesy tones out of the mojo and even use it as a clean boost for metal. Just keep in mind, an overdrive is not a distortion pedal and on its own will not give you the high gain you need for metal.
NEMusic thanks for the reply! I will certainly check that pedal out! I ended up going with fullbore metal. Which is nice for dumb heavy distortion, but it doesn’t give me a big range of distortion to work with.
Kyle Jennings not a bad choice, tbh. Most metal guitarists these days seem to be clean boosting an already distorted amp with an OD to give it more juice but at the end of the day finding your own tone is a personal journey ;) when your budget extends, check out the Proco Rat 2. It's an absolute staple and can give you a versatile sweep from OD through to Fuzz.
I left my Precision Drive on top of my Line 6 Spider one night. When I woke up, it had turned into a Peavey 5150.
What
I can't lie... That was pretty funny
Ha!
Still funny, 3yrs later

Man that new jackson finish is nice would love to see it in black with that neck and board.

The voice talent sounds like she's from Peppa Pig. My kids ran in from the other room.
Is this going to be the pedal the Marshall JCM 800 2203 always wanted shoved up its high gain input?? If so i'm very very excited.

Can you use it as a standalone chug pedal i.e. in front of a clean amp

It's not meant to be used as a preamp/distortion source.

Nah dude, that's how you mute your guitar for tuning while the bands playing.
Will this pedal work with a standard tuned guitar?
Yep!
That victory kraken in the back tho @ 1:23

NEMusic yesss! Appreciate it! ❤️
That British accent honestly scares me.
:( why?
This commercial breaks my stereotype of promoting something related to metal
Purchase this pedal in Australia and your life savings is non existent
Same thing here in Japan :-> The price is outrageous.
