I haven't tried this, but a racer has been using WD-40 in his carburetor after every race so that all of his rubber stays good. WD-40 is an "oil" which actually protects your rubber. Counter-intuitive in comparison to some oils. When I saw this I had to bookmark it a month ago. I'm so glad I had the chance to come back and see it today. :)

Wow, Great vid, I m a car guy from the late 60s.. "sensors" UGH !! What a great straightforward, easy to absorb how to. P.S. I use BP Blaster ..it travels up threads, and gets where other formulations can't. Never had any issues with rubber gaskets.. Thank You..
P.S. If possible re apply PB Blaster give it a little time to soak in. An old mech told me to try to tighten the bolt ever so slightly..... NOT like you really want to tighten it . ..( I'd say 1/10th or so of a CM) then reverse it.... counterclockwise to loosten. If the area is dry then reapply PB Blaster, it will creep whereever there are matching threads.. You probably won't get away with extracting it that easy.. Just apply more PB Blaster.. then work the bolt again clockwise to tighten it 1/10 of a CM etc then again counterclockwise till you can fully back it out. Be patient. That has worked for me more than anything else. Smacking the head of the bolt to shock the threads works ok re heavy metal to metal etc..engine block. I use the dark air hammer sockets with a hammer to deliver the strike. So not to damage the head of the bolt. BUT in the case where plastic is concerned.. This could damage the plastic charcoal canister area right where the female threads are embedded.. Now I'm the new OLD guy. LOL LOL..
Good Luck.. BTW back in the day we complained about the new emissions device the PVC valve. We never knew we had it so good..

    • @ozzstars_cars

  • @after6tuning

I think there was a mistake about the valve position when power is applied. The valve is normally open. The valve closes when you apply power. I am doing one right now. If it was normally closed all the time, it might be difficult to pump gas with car turned off because the vapor cannot escape when filling. Anyways good job!!

@@ozzstars_cars I can’t recall the brand, but it’s not uncommon for parts to be faulty out of the box, right? Also, the shop I took it to said he bench tested the valve and the plug for power...I’m just not sure. I picked up an EVAP canister at a “you pull” yard and was thinking of getting another valve to put on the canister and replacing my old one. Maybe I should check for power when I take off the old canister? Honestly, this started with an o2 code, then an intake thermostat code, then vent valve and now this. Literally one after another.
