Man this is an awesome time to be into RC, so many innovative and great rigs and parts. Now if we could just get these companies to do something other than jeeps, broncos, and power wagons!
Super glad you pointed out the weight distribution on the stock setup. A lot of guys did in fact mentioned it looked rear heavy but in reality it took a lot of effort to make it as close to balanced as possible because most buyers are not really comp drivers. These vehicles should be well balanced for those that dont have the skills that someone like yourself has. If I made it nose heavy like the pros are asking for it wouldve made it super hard for younger or inexperienced drivers to control. But, we did make sure to add enough adjustability so you could get the benefits of a custom setup. In the end you know we will be adding more upgrades to bring it closer and closer to what real comp drivers expect from it 👍. Awesome review and as always making us all look bad with your driving! 😁
I’ve never had a nose heavy rig feel harder to drive… if anything wheel/nose weight make them far far easier to run. 58/42 has always felt like a real sweet spot… 60/40 makes decent harder but a little gas will save you from flipping. I personally like to add a little weight to the back wheels and then add weight in the front ones until I’m around 58/42…. Ive done nauseating amounts of testing with all variables removed
@@V8chump You've never had an issue because the figures you run are very close to balanced at 58/42 which I think is a very good number for overall performance. This rig I set a little closer to 52/48 in an attempt to make it easier on the "new drivers". Those numbers are very easily changed though with just swapping where things sit with no extra expense. The issue some inexperienced drivers run into with nose heavy setups like the one you mention at 60/40 and above is when they try to descend and the rear is too light making the body stick up high because shocks don't compress and the whole thing flips forward. It also reflects in climbs where front tires make it over object and no longer have enough traction and rear tires refuse to help because there's no weight on them to give them that extra bite. For experienced drivers there are a million ways to deal with these scenarios but for a 7 yr old that just got one for his bday is a bit more tricky and sometimes off putting. Remember we are trying to grow our hobby and offering the best experience possible to the new crowd with our products out of the box is the easiest way to get them hooked for life like we are. And again, I designed this chassis so that even experienced drivers like yourself can find a heck of a lot of improvement by minor tweaks. In the end we are just trying to bring something to the hobby that wont require you immediately replacing 75% of the stock vehicle before feeling its ready for its first drive 😉👍😁.
The mini and micro RC companies just got put on notice with this rig. Brushless motor, aluminum chassis, and oil filled shocks under $200?!?! Great video. Great review. I have one on the way. Can't wait to do my own review on this rig.

So it was an unlisted video (only viewable by link) that they could check out this thing and decide if they wanted to carry it. I just decided to include it at the beginning of my official video since it gave some good info.
Matt, have you had the opportunity to try any off the batrazzi parts from fair rc? Really curious of the steel wheels compared to rc4wd and the oil shocks
I’m actually working on the video for that now! I really like the wheels so far. Seemed to mount up easier than the rc4wd and come with the brass ring. The tires are just ok so far but I’ve had very limited time with them. The oil shocks remind me of the aluminum cr18p oil shocks without the fake reservoir. I think they’ll be solid but haven’t ran them yet.
I got the wheels and shocks. Very easy to work with. Like the feel of the tires. But like any tire, its so dependent on your rig, the rocks, the weight distribution, heck even the weather. Unfortunately I haven't tried the shocks but they don't seem to have that 'stick' when sitting around for too long.

They can’t speak that good of English so no they didn’t tell me anything lol. I did however actually script what I planned to say using the specs etc from the truck. The beginning section of the video was used by Furitek as a presentation to some online shops etc. I reused it as the base of the info for the beginning of this video.
i would have like it to have a 2nd gen dodge truck body, i don't think there are allot of boomers around that want a 1960s body? maybe im the only one that likes 80,and 90s trucks?
It's always the new little companies that shake up the market. The legacy companies seem like they are decades behind. By looking at what the truck comes with, you know the people behind it actually are hobby enthusiasts, not paper pushers from the marketing team. Comparing this to my scx24 Deadbolt, I'm speechless. I can't believe Axial and Traxxas are still selling their minis when there is this option. Their latest offerings are laughable. Now we just have to wait for FMS FCX18 series to be revealed to see what they are bringing to the table. Please be brushless, no more brushed non-sense.
Since it single speed can you reposition the engine and transmission so motor facing backwards so you can mount batteries to the front to give it 40-60 weight ratio? Nice review that motor reminds me mofo RC nano beast!
Drivetrain is 1000% not bulletproof... There is ONE bearing in the entire truck. The motor shaft bearing. Everything else is bushings. Youll have progressively worsening slop and damage to your drivetrain unless you spring for a bearing kit to do a conversion. I did that. My axle shafts were rusted straight out of the box!!! What a hunk of junk. The chassis has no afterthought at all for upgrades. The high clearance links they sell dont even work in the vehicle without contacting eachother in the rear and you cant adjust it out with the plethora of mounting options because the giant battery tray is in the way 🤣 the high clearance links also remove ground clearencr because the links stick below the frame. This truck was designed by idiots.
I agree with a lot of that. Ditch that battery tray. It’s a joke. The chassis layout is insane. The links and skid mounting positions are horrible etc but it is only $199 brushless rtr which is appealing to a lot of people who don’t want to go through a build process. I’m still running the bushings in mine with no issues. Been on 3s since the day I got it and haven’t had any issue with it. The driveline has a ton of slop like you said but that’s all of these small trucks with portals basically. Still a great truck for the price but it’s not a custom lcg build for sure. I’d definitely take it for $50 more over a Trx4m which also comes with bushings or an scx24 with junk everything.
@@2fmrc I do agree with the value. It is probably the best dollar to performance ratio RTR on the market. You get a lot of vehicle for your money. I just with they took a little more time or even made the price 10% higher to address some of the issues that are obvious if you modify the vehicle from stock at all. I guess I just have a problem with how it's marketed. Is this for new people who are supposed to buy this as their first RC experience or is it supposed to be the new 1/18 scale gold standard similar to an scx24? I'm not sure I agree with your second opinion though. With how cheap an scx24 is right now (120 as of right now or cheaper) you can create a very competitive brushed build and address all of its issues for the same price and it could be more customized. It definitely comes down to preferences and what you intend to do with the truck though. For people who will never upgrade their vehicles and have no interest in tearing them apart I supposed this is an amazing package. Really I'm just miffed about the smaller things like my axles being rusted out and the fact that the lights don't even turn off... Whats up with that? That is just an indication to me that they really don't care about the fit and finish of the vehicle. I won't even touch on the actual hardware issues alot of people have been having or furiteks assumption that all of its customers are stupid idiots who don't know how to do anything. Maybe they really do intend and assume only new RC user will buy the truck? Most people who aren't into the hobby won't even understand what brushless means or denotes. I appreciate your discourse!

Mah...
Is the pie ready yet?
It will be ready in...
650 Mili Amp Hours.
Use a lady's elastic ponytail holder on the front. It limits the lift and allows more flex. Doesn't grip on the plastic!
There’s no way they didn’t tell you what to say 😂
They can’t speak that good of English so no they didn’t tell me anything lol. I did however actually script what I planned to say using the specs etc from the truck. The beginning section of the video was used by Furitek as a presentation to some online shops etc. I reused it as the base of the info for the beginning of this video.
i would have like it to have a 2nd gen dodge truck body, i don't think there are allot of boomers around that want a 1960s body? maybe im the only one that likes 80,and 90s trucks?
You spent 2 or 3 dollars on an item at the dollar store?
Liars! Lol Freakin Dollar General is full of it!
I hate the body and that style body in general. But the chassis and other components look great
It's always the new little companies that shake up the market.
Nah, I prefer build from scratch.
Same here, but LOTS of people want the easier way to have a solid truck and this is definitely it!
