Nice finally some gears. Thanks for the review and tips for installation.
I spotted these overdrive gears a little earlier today and i ordered a couple of sets , and now i see im going to have to modify the housing to fit them , well my esc and venom motor burnt out 5 minutes after unboxing the truck only runing on my living room carpet , three weeks of waiting for both replacement parts to turn up so why would i think that furitek would actually check to see if the OD gears fit the truck , stay safe mate 🇬🇧
Man I have been so pumped and waiting for the gears and this just burst my bubble. Hopefully they address the issues.
I was excited too. That’s a real bummer. Idk if it’s a quality control issue, a lack of testing, or them just not caring at all because they have a demo video of the overdrive on Facebook.
Looks awesome out there also climbing the rocks that white looks just awesome dude, I just bought a set of Meus Complete axles front and back I got the black set they are awesome. I’m putting together WT Willys truck

After moving my electronics to my sliders Overdrive and bearings are next. I made a short when Fx118 came out showing the counter rotation option. Very cool. Got a link to that axle housing?.
It’s not available yet as far as I can tell. Couldn’t find it online. I’m sure it’ll be showing up soon!

It looks like the new axle housing did work. It swapped the twist to the opposite side and seamed to lift a bit less. I'd like to get my hands on a set for sure.

What’s the part number for that rear axle. Been dying to reverse mine, just haven’t found the right part!
Yes can you confirm they will work on the FCX axles
No they won’t work with fcx axles
Aliexpress has 12.5% overdrive gears. Have it in 8 FCX24 and in the FCX18. It is not 20% but they work great, no issue at all and they fit.
Yeah I run the aligears in my fcx also. The fcx gears won’t fit this though. These are cr18 axles basically

Hi, why nobody use wheels weights on fx118 with non-stock wheels? Will it make any difference?
You definitely can. I usually try to get my weight with brass knuckles or portal covers when I can just so it’s not rotating weight but a little weight won’t hurt anything.
They’ve just released an “all new” unimog! Will you plan on reviewing it?
Yeah I’m supposed to have one on the way! Who knows how that will go lol. Their releases have been a mess lately.
Awesome! Looking forward to it. I know it’s chassis and drive train look to be the same as the fcx24 (transmitter looks different) but it still looks fun for what it is. Thanks for the vids! You are my go to for these minis, I’ve actually became addicted to them. 👍🏻

I had this issue with my fcx24 od gears and brass housing.
I just keep seeing issues on this hp platform. I think it would have been more enjoyable to get the fcx18 and put the furitek in there and youd have a fun better crawler
The problem isn’t much the hobbyplus parts. It’s all the furitek stuff around it. The fcx18 is not without it’s own problems. Mainly being that it’s to heavy/stock motor is to strong for the nylon gears in the diffs and transmission.
Any ideas why the FCX's dont have this kind of torque twist?
My FMS - FCX24 K5 Blazer has bad torque twist at about 51° to 52° inclines & it is close to 700 grams to keep it planted.
Do these work on FCX24 axles?
No. These should work with the cr18 axles but not the fcx. I’ve been using the od gears from aliexpress on the fcx. They aren’t much od but better than nothing.
@@2fmrc Thanks, its disappointing that FMS have such great axles but can't even come up with an overdrive upgrade... I wish I never spent so much on these FCX24 axles
