It's a great build, but I would still take gs because gs 2 hits multiple targets and gs5 is good to cc or push enemies away if you get in a tight spot.
I think this loadout is a good one for players relatively new or needing something more low-intensity than GS, with GS being an add-on option for "when you're ready and want to go to the next level" to get even more damage out of the class. As with many Meta Builds, GS is indeed a great option, but not if trying to use it makes you a worse player than something that is maybe a bit smoother/has more synergy.
@@mandodelorian4668 I agree, having Dagger as the only main is quite nicex since the only skills that change are the last 2 ones. Having a pull on focus is good too.
@@MrPhyxsyus Yes, true that. The placeable pull on the Focus vs a push on GS can easily be overlooked. Pull to group mobs up, pull them closer, or pull them farther away, very nice to have options there.
Small correction for 4:58: The Sword 5 does cleave damage, and Focus 5 is single target only. Is it possible you mixed them up? In any case, the 12 hits of the Phantasmal Warden just get individually spread out to any individual that happens to be close (including invulnerable objects in raids such as Deimos hands or the center crystal at Matthias). This makes the Warden bad when there are enemies around.
@@MaselMMO Thanks for the reply! Would you say there's any major changes to be made to smoothly swap over to GS? Trying to create builds, but the dps is just not great (15-17k), haha.
Okay off hand is the opposite of your main hand, not the weapon swap opposite. You can't equip a Great sword as an off hand weapon anywhere in the game.
hello good sir, i have a question, iam new to this game and i mostly play solo and no raids for now, i made the virtuoso build but the condi one, idk how good the power build works in open world but with my condi build, it just takes a while to kill something and sometimes i am thinking if the power build would be more a "quality of life" thing in open world vs random mob encounters^^ on the dummy i managed to hit 30k straight, i already invested in the condi build, i just dont know what the actuall go to builds are since iam new^^ and in big groups, stuff dies rather quick and with the condi build u dont have the time to ramp up the dmg^^ you know what i mean xD pls let me know xD thank you for your video, it was very informative and helpful! :)
Usually, condition builds have a ramp up time, but shine on bossfights without a lot of phases. generally, the lower the group damage is, the better condiiton builds become because the rampup time becomes less impactful. Agaisnt small mobs and stuff, power is usually faster. There's no "better or worse", both have their place. What you could say is that condi builds are often easier versus harder OW enemies because you dont need to stay in the face of the enemy to keep dealing damage because conditions keep ticking Since both virtuoso builds are ranged, that is not as much of an issue though
I literally had the same issue as you....Boosted a virtuoso and made a condi build with the Celestial gear set the game gives you when you boost a character....I felt like random mobs were taking too long to die and taking half my health by the time i killed them....i went to the pvp map and looked at how much damage my basic attacks were doing to the practice golems, which was around 120-280 or something like that...then i changed my stats to power and basic attacks were hitting from around 300-780 so i bought an entire berserker kit and made a power build and mobs were dying much faster and it felt great....a mistake i was doing, is that i was only using basic attacks because i also have a DareDevil and it would kill things fast with basic attacks....but the Virtuoso wasnt doint that....someone told me to not be afraid to use multiple abilities on a simple mob because the virtuoso cool downs were very low, so you will always have your abilities ready for the next mob....and so i started doing that....not being afraid of using all my abilities, even my bladesongs on random mobs, so i just keep running and killing shit no problem
@@enemyuav8809 thanks for sharing your experience, Yea, on the one side, the Condi dmg feels not that Bad on bigger mobs but on the other side, iam sure the power dmg feels good too 😂 iam gonna Save up some gold to buy the berserker gear then i will decide ^^
@@Scholli_1988 yeah condi is great on stronger mobs and the amount of damage numbers on the screen are cool….there’s a gear set that allows you to have power AND condition damage, I think it’s called Vipers but it’s a grind to get it, so for now I still have the celestial set for condi and berserker for power….I didn’t spend much on the berserker set, if you do the dailies, that’s an easy 2 gold so after a few days, you can get the whole set
Loving the build and playstyle. Have a question though, in your OW Roamer (High Self-Healing) build there are a lot of skills that include healing but when I look at mine, there's barely any healing there to match the descriptions when I hover over them. My toon has the same armor, runes, etc. Am I missing something here?
Better use the condi version if you wanna good results. Better if you have celestial gear, but not all of us are rich enough to buy celestial gears lol
High dps comes at the cost of less versatility and utility, which are needed in all-round situations against real players or multiple foes, especially being fragile like Mesmer.. I would like to see a real Power virtuoso build, that does not only have tunnel vision for dps, but can actually counter conditions, stuns, pulls and have movement speed and nice skill recharge and or stacks, making the class have more sustain while still doing descent damage - not just damage, but ranged damage with a nice balance between dot conditions dmg and raw dmg.. To be ready for almost every encounter the game can throw at you.. I believe that if you can successful pvp counter and or kill real players with a build, it is also more than descent for any pve boss..
I think this is where the Inspiration variant (labeled high self-healing in the video description) would come in. You could also combine that with Celestial gear to get more health and toughness, balance out your condition damage vs. strike damage, and get more self-healing. You'd be trading away a good amount of DPS for it but for open world that's not a huge deal if you can survive anything that gets thrown at you.
You do really good work giving people a pathway into more complex specs or classes with a simpler start. Well done.
I’m very new to the game and ended up playing Virtuoso with a gun, with Greatsword as a backup, idk how good it is but it’s pretty fun
It's a great build, but I would still take gs because gs 2 hits multiple targets and gs5 is good to cc or push enemies away if you get in a tight spot.
Greatsword is a very good option for both group content and open world, with a more complex rotation it actually does a good chunk more damage
@@MaselMMO but it's nice that u can just stay in Dagger, condi virtuoso uses this same weapon setup. And it's pretty good.

How much of a DPS loss would be to stick with just 1 weapon set to avoid swapping? Would it be a focus or a sword?
Thanks in advance!

Absolutely! You can also play it with a greatsword, just as much fun :)

Hi ! I wanted to know in your opinion, what is the easiest class to play with one hand? THANKS !
can i replace dueling for inspiration? or is it too much of a hit to dps? i just enjoy how comfy the spec feels with inspiration :P
In open world you can do what you with, if Inspiration is lore comfy, use it :)
Virtuoso 3 2 3? The Bloodsong just Buff damage for Bleeding only not strike damage right?
can I play it with a greatsword in the second weapon set?
I think it makes the rotation slightly different then, but it's way stronger and some other players have mentioned it feels more complete kit wise.
This guide really helped me thanks o/

Hello thank you for the guide. However I was wondering how do we get from 60% crit to 100% with fury since fury gives 25% crit in pve.. thank you !
Virtuoso has a trait that grants 15% criticial chance when you have fury, so 25%+15% = 40%. That's how we reach 100% :)
