I just boosted an engineer through tomes and I have to say it's super fun. Mech is certainly the easiest spec I have played so far but scrapper is a lot of fun as well. Given that it can provide quickness with just very little investment into expensive support gear it will be my first choice for support in raid trainings (just got my feet wet in endgame). Thanks for the guide!
More power to the rifle version! Plus quickness at the start is WAYYY better. It's difficult to track when different gyros have different lengths of cast and cool down . Scrapper is the best spec In GW2.
I've recently been digging into Scrapper more than the Mech because I was finding Mech too boring (seems fun at first until you realize you hardly have to do anything until your Mech dies and then suddenly you are scrambling for survival.) I honestly don't know that I can go back to Mech after really digging into Scrapper. I'm running Explosives and Alchemy with my rifle. I take some potions and can play around with some other utilities and what not. But I can a ton of boon uptime and with barriers and being able to stay at range with the rifle I can survivor quite a lot. At the same time, it requires more concentration than a Mech, but it is consistently fun and rewarding. Right now this is my favourite class.
I wanna create a Herald because I don't have any heavy armor toon but the hammer+rifle+speed combo of Scrapper sounds really great, just wish they'd use heavy and it will be my favorite spec.
Thank you for the vid. I started playing a month ago on Herald but i've grown quite tired of it and was looking for something that covered a similar role, but with a twist to spice things up. Gonna mess around with this for a while and see how it feels.
I've been thinking about redeeming my Scrapper from the "Rarely Played" drawer. Since I already have essentially all this gear for him, I'll give this a try. Though I'm a slave to muscle memory so making a change is never easy even with a "simple to play" build. lol
Just a small comment, unfortunately, your benchmark is also (slightly) skewed compared to snowcrow's. In your rotation guide, you had all boons, which means you had permanent stability, which gave you an extra 5% damage from object in motion, whereas snowcrow's stability only came from applied force, which isn't permanent and seems to have a fairly long cooldown. Otherwise, great guide, thank you! :)
If we can’t afford scholar runes, should we use pack runes? It’s set bonus is power/boon duration and 6 set is descent. Can augment with power or precision food
I'd say eagle runes are better. As long as you have a diviner amulet and one ring you can cap on quickness and you can use berserker in every other piece of armor/weapon/trinkets and dps runes and food (wich is cheaper).
@@MaselMMO Does adding grenade kit instead of the rifle turret add more DPS? In that case do you just avoid the grenade kit for ease of rotation? Ty in advance.
@@ashwininamdar Like he said in the video: You'll have to swap to grenade kit every 5 seconds to use Shrapnel grenade (which has the same cooldown as your Electro whirl so it lines up nicely).
so i decided to hop on my mechanist to try scrapper instead(seemed more fun) but i found out that i cant even break 3k dmg(i dont have ascended gear), i dont know what im doing wrong. would like some tips on how to improve?
I've been looking for an up-to-date Scrapper build guide and this looks great! Does it also work with exotic gear in group content? Or does more gear need to have diviner stats in that case? Thanks for the concise video!
Did I miss or did you redeem all this extra information non-important Rocket Turret on Mechanist is higher DPS but I don't know how that is on Scrapper, doing the math is higher dps but is there a longer cast animation? Can it miss? and so on so don't know 😅 Mine is great DPS skill as well CC skill as well Boon Rip which can be used in fights like Vale Guardian where when you don't have power Mesmer or condi Necromancer you can just take Mine and boon rip with that while in Gorseval it is great extra CC👍 only time I take Battling Ram is in Samarog to help with the push as well CC. Elixar B's F ability is group stability with tiny 180 area if you need group stability 👍 it is almost impossible to use in most fights but if the group is good enough you yeet that stuff on your group at Gorseval the only boss where I have been able to use it reliable but have used it in other content like Fractals. When giving quickness only important Gyro to keep is blast gyro, if you swap blast gyro away you have to use F5 to upkeep the Quickness 🤔 or so I was told, not sure how true that is. F5 is great revive 👍 you can delay its use if you think in few seconds someone will go down like seeing that Green on Vale Guardian is about to pop 👍 But what do I know? I have only played 400 hours Engineer and all this information is from what others say and no testing myself ❣
I did test various options, but this was the skill loadout I liked the most; i'm not too big of a fan of the mine tbh unless you really need the boon strip for a particular encounter. It just adds extra fluff to the build for a very small dps gain If you need group stability bulwark gyro's toolbelt skill is much better imo, since it has a larger radius, longer duration stability, the same cooldown and comes with a more useful utility skill in form of the gyro. And you shouldn't need to take additional cc with this build, it is packed with native cc as it is. Spare capacitor combined with rocket charge is a triple daze, thunderclap and blast gyro also apply a daze/stun... it's much better to just save those if you need more imo.
I may finally try out an Engineer. I didn't make one out of principle due to everyone running around with mechs. Scrapper looks very interesting though. Great guide as always.
you speak too fast my friend so i have the speed at 75%. it is easy to miss the traits and other notable skills you mention. on top of saying things too quickly, you are just saying the names without flashing an icon or tooltip.
I have limited time on my hands, both for making the footage as well as editing, as I do it all myself with a full time job in consulting and a house to renovate. I gotta save time and be somewhat efficient, and youtube has the speed option for exactly that reason. I don't explain every trait in detail and gloss over a few things because they're not necessary to understand the build. That said, I'm afraid I can't change the way I do these guides due to time constraints.

You have the best build guides. Simple, straight to the point, not too in-depth +30min rambling videos, 5/5.
In the october update, we gained 180 vitality and gyros applying superspeed on the first pulse instead of the last, which is pretty nice!

wait wait
~34k is low for some people ???
thanks for build
Well, rifle mechanist can do 37-38k quite easily, so it kinda gatekeeps lots of builds right now

Oh darn you're right, I thought snowcrows had stab up as well. Thanks for the hint! It's quite minor, but nonetheless important
At 8:18, what's the Concentration Maintenance Aura that you mention? I'm new, thank you for this great guide!
I figured out that you meant Toxic Maintenance Oil :)

Hey thanks so much for your videos. How did you summon a golem at 13:20? Is that an elite skill?
It's an asura elite skill yeah

you applied all the conditions to golem which breaks your dps,you have to apply 25 vul then all the condis
I can only hit 25k dps I don’t know what I’m doing wrong
we neither

You can use exotic as a starting point just fine :) just try to reach 100% Critical chance nonetheless.

1st!! nice guide as always (even I haven't finished watching it yet lol)
how to we get elite spec skill like the golem ?
You need to be asura for that. It's not a big deal if you're not though
is the rifle version still viable after the Nov 29 patch??
It only got nerfed a bit so I would say it still is!
can this works with full celestial gear?
I know it's 2 months old but for future reference, celestial gear is much better suited for condition builds.
@@Bzk-- thanks
what is the hammer skin at 6:35?
well kinda late answer but looks like aurene's legendary.
How does Scrapper trigger Aim Assisted Rockets? It only triggers on missile hits, unless Hammer/Gyro stuff can trigger it as well?
All projectiles trigger it, including whirl finishers (shredder gyro+electrowhirl), shots from rifle turret and surprise shot.

Nice video, but take mines inteasted gyro red, is more dmg ?
esses noobs haha, quando estão solo é contra boss fácil, quando é boss difícil está em grupo haha, Lord Hizen is best
Hello, thank you, your tutorials are great. :) is this scrapper g. still actual?
Thank you! Yes it is :)
