I know you guys are not together, but you two will make a good couple. Simply because of the work you two are doing together to better understand each other as friends and evolve as individuals is phenomenal. This is hard work and most people who are actually couples don't do it.
I cried out of joy when Ali said "I dont want you to change tbh... unconditional friendship... I accept you the way you are... I'm not trying to fix you" THAT IS SOO SWEET!! He's right, Sheen is already perfect, love you Sheen!
waiting for Ali's "good stuff" comment !!! btw, this is honestly so relatable, I think most women and men share this exact same dynamic ! Lots of love !
I am truly happy that Ali is holding his ground here. And not falling to the 'guilt tripping' that often guys fall prey to. I felt Sheen is saying "this is how I think/feel, so let us now adopt our ways of behaving/communicating with each other". And Ali was like "This is how I am, now we understand each others' perspectives. Great, let's go back to being ourselves. No one needs to change anything".
Woke Wednesday makes my day every time ....it almost feels like I'm part of the conversation with you two.Ya'll really get me thinking. Lots of love 🙌❤️
I think this gives a good insight into how guys communicate amongst themselves and how they communicate to women. Naturally as boys grow up they adopt this very open, unfiltered form of communication whereas with girls it's more emotional, detailed and caring. This is why it's difficult to really fit in with the lads because in the back of our minds we'll always have that emotional side that turns on without us realising.
As always, insightful and informative. I kinda relate to your thought of how having that filter can make us conscious of them tampering their own personality to accommodate us more and can lead us to assume that they are not their absolute authentic self with us and we don't want that cause they are people we love and we want them to be comfortable enough to be themselves around us. The healthy way I have come to deal with this is that I have taught myself that this is not exactly possible, no one can ever be their absolute authentic self with me and that is okay, in reality, it's much healthier if we let someone filter out their actions according to our triggers. We need to stop holding on to the idea that a perfect relationship is always suppose to be easy, irrespective of what dynamic the two people share. Yes, you should be comfortable around that person but that shouldn't stop you from putting in effort. The only way to move forward is to put in the effort and work on something, even if it's relationships we are talking about.
This was rather funny in the sense that it wasn’t a couples therapy but it really did sound like one! Having said that I totally get how you feel and the point you were getting across... esp the bit when you have to tell someone in order for them to do it but you feel you shouldn’t need to and they should know from your daily behaviour. Totally get where you’re coming from on this video!
I found your channel after having seen Ali's channels and honestly feel the only reason i ever found Ali's channels was so that i could come across your. I can't thank you enough as i watch through your videos and try to learn how to become more emotionally intelligent but also learn how to communicate my emotions to others especially men. Currently about to give my marriage once last chance and feel all of this is a preparation for that. Thanks again
The rule of thumb for me is to not mock someone for something you know they may have a difficult time with, especially if it's something which separates them from the rest. So, for example, Sheen is not from the UK. It's almost a given that speaking that way for her would be somewhat harder than it would be for a native. As a Singaporean, I imagine being mocked for his accent couldn't have been easy for Paul. It's okay to mock Sheen for not being great at technology, but if you guys lived in, say, Silicon Valley or someplace where most people are good with that stuff, being mocked for not being great at tech could be hurtful. So.. don't mock someone for being short if they are surrounded by tall people, don't mock someone's curls if they are surrounded by people with straight hair -- it might be a sensitive area for them.
I really liked this episode. I got to see the difference between your personality and how each one perceives and react to things. Even though you both are handling these differences really good but sometimes it might be difficult because one person will be expecting more from the other while the other person doesn't see these are necessary things to do or say.
Due to exam pressure, I am unable to watch the full videos these days. But I am here to show support and assure you, the minute my exams are over, I will binge watch all of your videos Sheen. BTW, absolutely loved the topic
You two have such a great way to talk about differences, open and honest. Thank you for filming it and putting it out. My thoughts on the accent thing: if person b makes fun of your accent, they come across as superior and person a could hear that they are not reaching the standard, the "right" way of pronouncing a certain word. It puts person b into the position of "I have figured it out, this is the right way of saying things and you still need to learn in order to reach this right standard". I think in the area of languages ever evolving and adapting this approach of right and wrong might be difficult causing sensitivity around this topic.
this topic is so relatable, from this video I learn that every context in a situation matter and it would be very useful to do these "check in" about someone's side of the story, the why they do what they did, I hope I find a way to cooperating this behavior into my life
Really loved this vlog❤️ Ali has become more and more hype and has start showing up his other side apart from the productive site.Sheen on the other hand is the most caring and kind person on the entire planet again😘😘😘
Ali's communication style is just like my brother's with the "it's about whether I care or not". This is definitely going to make me understand him more. I'd make him watch this but the dude speaks little to no English. Sheen, would you please try to put it French subtitles?
I think it's veryyy normal to add a filter even with very close friend or family, especially if you're not friendly like if u can be rude sometimes and hurt others when you don't mean it. And i honestly think it's not a "filter"but more like be a better version of yourself
Stereotypically even very young females care more for feelings of others & relate to each other emotionally & indirectly, with detailed "stories." Men & boys are stereotypically more logically wired & will be directly saying what they mean, with less vocabulary. It is also how we are nurtured too & our role models growing up :)
From last 2 month I eagerly wait for Wednesday more than weekend.. the topics are just so important and perfect in general..love your personality Sheen mam
In one of her travel vlogs (Cotswolds), Sheen said during the house tour- "Two people can love each other to moon and back, without being in a romantic relationship". I thought she had just explained her relationship with Ali (though the context was totally different). I am happy to see that you both in this loving relationship even though you don't want to be called 'a couple'.
He is like my husband, the people he care about them are like an older brother too them protects, helps and guides, but because what he been throw in his passed is a personal firewall component so that he does not get hurt, and do not forget that he does not know how to deal with women because he did not have a sister, and now he got you ,brothers , they protect and annoying, but they care about you. 💚
Oh wow! It was sooo fun watching you both❤️❤️ I was smiling or laughing all the time😂 You both address soo many little things most of us don't even care about... I will always relate with Sheen the most❤️ But yes I do have a lot of friends who behave like Ali so quite an insightful videoo... Keep posting ❤️🎉
Haha, So I can hugely relate to how Sheen analyzes people : all the complex stuff (same here ) And just taking there word for it seems dubious lollolololo
You know when something is going to be soo good that you save it for later so you can enjoy it? It’s this video for me ... got a test tomorrow and I haven’t had the motivation to revise but because I saw this in my feed ..I have decided to save it until I’m done .. Elsie 1:0 Procrastination !🥰💃🏾
I struggle with the same thing with my friends as well. A battle between wanting to be one of the lads and still needing that human decency filter. Makes me wonder if I only require that filter from my guy friends or all friends. Really thinking about that now...
You have perfectly reflected my thoughts back in the day in my college when I had to be in friendship with the opposite gender. I am from south Asia where opposite gender interaction is not the norm in all strata of the society. But during college I was in a completely liberal set up and I had to do things in a completely opposite way to how I was conditioned (read conservative) hitherto. And in those times I really did make good friends with a couple of girls and I expected the same "decency" but still wanted to be their "lad" and your thoughts were exactly what was running in mind. Do ignore if you find my rant nonsensical. Because I am not good in getting my point across.
I laughed so much through this whole episode even though idek if you guys meant to make it comedic LOL but it's just very wholesome and amusing to see you guys communicate ABOUT your different communication styles :)))))) love woke wednesdays feels like i'm sitting at a table with a couple of older siblings hahahha
i’ve actually had to have a similar conversation about what topics upset me with quite a few guys and am always surprised to know they that they never knew it hurts. are banter between guys sometimes actually malicious but no one talks about it?
I know you guys are not together, but you two will make a good couple. Simply because of the work you two are doing together to better understand each other as friends and evolve as individuals is phenomenal. This is hard work and most people who are actually couples don't do it.
I was literally about to comment this
That's really true
"I know you guyz are not together" 😂😂😂😂 jokes on you!
GS
😂
You are so lazy 🤣🤣🤣
Soon it will go down to only G 😅
I cried out of joy when Ali said "I dont want you to change tbh... unconditional friendship... I accept you the way you are... I'm not trying to fix you" THAT IS SOO SWEET!! He's right, Sheen is already perfect, love you Sheen!
I can't pay full attention to a school lecture, but I'm all ears for woke Wednesdays 💛
Low-key don't want you to move out. You're an amazing person Sheen
I agree! do we know why she's moving out?
you guys tend to your friendship more than most couples tend to their romantic relationship. very impressive
moral of the story : Adding filters doesn't make your life harder, it just makes you come across as more decent !! love you two !!!!
Woke Wednesdays should be a podcast too, I love that you both have your own unique ways to communicate 😊
Obviously neither of us is right or wrong. He's a little bit wrong 😂 Sheeeeennn!!!
Lol yeah . I love that too.
These Woke Wednesday topics are things that should really be taught in schools. Instead we're all learning about life skills on UA-cam 😂
Nothing wrong in taking efforts towards our own development 😂
The way he looks at her 😍
Yeahhhhh.!!!!!! I love that too!
I just love the way he was saying I like the way you are. With his head down and not even looking at her. Saying I am not trying to fix you either .
So very true!
waiting for Ali's "good stuff" comment !!! btw, this is honestly so relatable, I think most women and men share this exact same dynamic ! Lots of love !
loveeee the way you guys are honest with each other in this conversation about your opinions.
Ikr😊
I would fall in love with someone who talk to me like Ali is talking ,i love smart people and talk the way he talks
So interesting to see the dynamics between the feeler & thinker! Love your woke Wednesday with Ali every time!
Let’s just call it “Flatmate therapy”. So glad to know that no relationship is perfect.
The long "stare" at each other, though......Love them.
Can we please have a not couple couples therapy chat like this more often 🤣
I am truly happy that Ali is holding his ground here. And not falling to the 'guilt tripping' that often guys fall prey to.

You guys are quarrelling like an old couple.. it's adorable to watch you two fall in love when you don't even see it yourselves yet!
Yes family should love one another
We’ll see what will happen in the future
“Validate my ladness” 😂😂
*scrolling through the comment section to further validate my feelings for these two*
Never not giddy for you two. 🤍
Woke Wednesday makes my day every time ....it almost feels like I'm part of the conversation with you two.Ya'll really get me thinking. Lots of love 🙌❤️
I like how Ali is honest , you should listen to what he said and accept it or u gonna be tired

22:31 When sheen said “i am very funny” Ali forcefully saying “YES” 😂🤣. And the smile on his face lol

I love listening to your discussion, they're so captivating :))
“Good stuff”

The Sheen And Ali Show!
Amazing video, learn a lot and great conversations. Love it. Be safe and healthy.

I could feel Sheen's frustration in this video lol thanks for doing this every Wednesday
That eye contact at 4:30 though 😂😂

I felt like I was imposing on an intimate moment 😂
Omg....Sheen!!! This is sooo relatable ❤️
Sending love from Singapore! Sheen is like an older sister to me (I have 4 brothers haha)
It was such a refreshing conversation to hear ❤️
Sheen, you are just (chef’s kiss)!
Ali's communication style is just like my brother's with the "it's about whether I care or not". This is definitely going to make me understand him more. I'd make him watch this but the dude speaks little to no English.

Maybe, Sheen is an empath or HSP that's why she feels other people's energy...others are really not as sensitive. It boils down to personality types.
Stereotypically even very young females care more for feelings of others & relate to each other emotionally & indirectly, with detailed "stories." Men & boys are stereotypically more logically wired & will be directly saying what they mean, with less vocabulary. It is also how we are nurtured too & our role models growing up :)
Ali would absolutely hate me :) hahaha
If someone made fun of my accent I would be literally mortified for days.
Really nice topics on woke Wednesday. Looking up for more 👍

Love these two 😍😍
This genuinely feels like couple therapy
These woke Wednesdays do be making my weeks a lot more better

He is like my husband, the people he care about them are like an older brother too them protects, helps and guides, but because what he been throw in his passed is a personal firewall component so that he does not get hurt, and do not forget that he does not know how to deal with women because he did not have a sister, and now he got you ,brothers , they protect and annoying, but they care about you. 💚

These 23 minutes dont seem wasted ;)
Love this hahahaah. Exactly how men and women differ being played out right in front of us. Totally different interpretation I find it so funny 😂
"Im assuming Paul watches my videos" ALI: "YES 👁👁"
i’ve actually had to have a similar conversation about what topics upset me with quite a few guys and am always surprised to know they that they never knew it hurts. are banter between guys sometimes actually malicious but no one talks about it?
if you guys respect eachother and value eachother just comprimise and keep it cool. its always not about getting your way after all.
Sheen love the content❤️❤️,keep it coming!!
Thank you
I literally have had this exact same conversation with my boyfriend a hundred times 😅
