I saw the movie in 1976, while in 7th grade. Some parents objected but our teacher persisted. Thank God. This movie had such a profound effect on me and started a life long love of classics. I cried my eyes out at the theater and my teacher was so happy it reached us as it did. Thank you for the movie and my teacher, Mrs. Thompson.
I also saw this in middle school and fell in love with cinema there and then. She was a marvelous Juliet. The best Mary in Jesus of Nazareth. And wonderful as Rebeka in Ivan Ho.
Soo young still Leonard already had that absolutely fascinating charm... What a beautiful personality for such a young man...We didn't get enough of him in more movies , so sad 😢
Not only do they have the perfect looks to embody R & J, but by stepping into these characters - and then living long and rather peaceful lives and their relationship being a calm lasting friendship without fiery deathly drama , they sort of redeemed these star-crossed lovers..✨👥☮️ and brought them peace. 🕯️
In this video I can clearly see the argentine traits that make Olivia so exotic and unique. Undoubtedly the most beautiful actress that has existed until today.

His magnificent deep blue eyes don't show here... He looks so relaxed. Incredibly cool and mature ... He's soo cute 😍 HOT !! I hate seeing her drink and smoke , so young !
It so great for them that their movie and this interview will live on forever and they can actually look back on the beginning of a romance that turned into a very long-term friendship. She looks at him, and he also her, with such adore. Years are wicked how the time ravage our youth and there no escaping it, but only through death. I looked at the movie Social Suicide, but they only had a very small cameo in the project and Hussy's daughter is also in this movie but her part and character in the film was not giving the chance to develop. I spent the whole time anticipating seeing Leonard and Olivia on screen, that it made it seem forever but once I focus on the story unfolding really good twist and turn plot with a little homage to Romeo and Juliet. Right now, I am obsessed and will be looking at all the UA-cam footage on them. I am shocked there was no other PR interviews they did for the movie? Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.
Wow, what a fantastic share. You've taken the words that I've left unspoken. How apropos, your sentiment, to what I was seeking tonight. Thank you for sharing.
Films now are regularly filled with violence, vulgarity - so profane it is impossible to watch. The young people in these films should be the ones suing for the trauma of what film has devolved into. Here the film Romeo and Juliet was a work of art.
Ariana Grande might look a little like Olivia, but don't ever, for a hot second, think that Ariana could EVER pull off this role with 1/10th of the charm and perfection that Olivia did. Ariana is a product of these terrible times and lets be honest, she's been though more and just a lot tougher and harder that Juliet, so no matter whatever acting Ariana might be able to pull off, she would never have the purity, the charm, the soulful innocent eyes, full of youthful exuberance that Olivia had. That is the magic of perfect casting and acting. That is the what is meant be "capturing lightening in a bottle" Its super rare, cannot be taught from a three ring binder, and you cannot just put in another pretty face and expect the same results. Olivia and Leonard both deserve all the immortality that their performances gave them.
When I see an interview or show from this period I always think how weird the style of clothing and hair was, and how at the time, it didn't seem so! 🙃
@@vanessadiaz2381 no idea, guessing it was better for her career and the film for her to be a year younger. As you can see at the beginning of the interview, the date is 10/25/1967. She was born 4/17/1951, she is 16 and a half in this interview.
She confirns in a later interview she is 16 here. She just agreed with the interviewer..Do the math. 1967 She wss born in 1951. Makes her 16. She was 17 when movie was released in 1968.
They were raised to be mature and professional-But our current woke world. It doesn’t just ruin today’s youth. It’s a mindvirus that brainwashes grownups too. People who have lived half their lives or more already. I’ll bet their selves today, have less integrity than their teenage selves. Simply because the times they are a changing.
The film R & J is dated 1968, the interview was filmed in 1967, in the interview the details of the filming are discussed (before the film?) ??? Was it English Humor or was the editor drunk? Olivia smokes like a steam locomotive.
Are you new to the world of cinema? Actors and directors always do press conferences before the release of a movie. As soon as a movie begins production, there’s interviews with the cast, the director, details about the production are released in magazines (and today, on the internet). Actors nowadays share on set photos on their social media pages. It’s called movie promotions, to get the audience interested in the upcoming movie.
Wow, for a young little teen, the beautiful Olivia sure knew how to smoke a cigarette, snap inhales, nasal exhales, this was one hot little woman! A little garble in her voice, clearing her throat, her system seems already affected by her smoking.
This was filmed in 1967, whether cigarettes or just time has done its work on her complexion-It is now a moot point. You comment like this was filmed yesterday.
