Animal Spotting at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo - The UK's Biggest Zoo & Safari Park

In today's video we take you on a trip to Whipsnade Zoo, located in Whipsnade, Dunstable this is the UK's largest zoo, covering 600 acres and home to over 3000 species of animals.
The zoo is part of the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) with its sister Zoo being in London's Regent's Park which is the oldest scientific zoo in the world. ZSL Whipsnade Zoo opened in 1931, smaller than it is now and with far fewer animals, over time the collections have grown and prospered from the conservation work done at the zoo.
You have a number of notable exhibits at Whipsnade Zoo that aren't often seen in the zoos in the UK, you have a number of tigers, cheetah, bears as well as elephants, you also have a number of rhino too.
Whipsnade Zoo is notable for having a number of animals also roaming free throughout the park, you've got mara, peafowl and wallabies wandering around, interacting with guests.
Tickets to Whipsnade Zoo start at £24.00 per adult in off peak season and go up to £32.50 during peak time. We visited here in February, off peak season, whilst it was cheaper, there were less animals on show so we would suggest waiting until the weather is a little warmer as this would be a great day out with kids.
Due to the size of the zoo you can also take your car into the zoo and park at each exhibit, experiencing them up close and saving you walking.
