Never bother selling your bike to them. I have a pretty high end MTB and they gave me only store credit and a very small amount as an option. It was a joke.
Same experience. Figured based on what they were selling similar bikes for that they'd make a fair offer. Nope. $1700 for a 2 year old $6000 bike in pretty good shape.
Just bought a Levo carbon comp electric but still also ride my carbon stump jumper . You’re right, adds lots of fun for places I couldn’t ride before at age 69
+1 here. New Turbo Levo and still have my Stumpy too. Love them both! Have fun with the new ride Alex! Look forward to lots of videos on both your rigs.
50% of yo will dislike this bike....knew it was an e-MTB!!!! 95% of those who "Dis" e-MTBs have either A) Never ridden one or B) nothng more than a parking lot or very short trail ride. MORE MILES MORE SMILE!!!! I'm older and have only been riding a few years.....Still get a great workout, see way more miles, have way more smiles....It basically allows me to ride at a fitness level that is about two steps higher than reality on my analog bike........Will be interesting to see your content around this bike. I can tell, you're kinda hooked already :) ......Great video!!!
2 Points 1. We can still hear your whoops over the noise of the bike so al good. 2. You're having fun, regardless of the battery or not - that is the name of the game so cudos on the new bike.👍
My boss got an e-bike so he could ride with a couple of us from work. He put it really nicely when we got done with a long ride. He said “I might be ‘cheating’ with this bike, but I wouldn’t be out here with you guys without it.” E-bikes are great.
I have MS and am >60 yo. I started Mtn biking in 1986 and it's been a huge part of my life. My right leg fatigues way quickly now in my hip flexor and hamstring due the nerve issues. It got so I was too fatigued to unclip and put my right leg down when needed and riding became dangerous and scary. Plus I kept falling over when trying to stop. 😞I have been on an ebike for 2 years now. It's gotten me back out riding regularly in a way that I could never do anymore on my acoustic bike. More often, more miles and more fun. Safer too. A few years ago I saw a TGR movie profiling pro racer Paul Basagoitia who had a devastating spinal injury. He said that he was incredibly angry with biking after the accident and never thought he'd be on a bike again. Then the film showed him ripping up the trail and jumps on a pedal assist ebike in Crested Butte. He said that that was the first time that he felt like himself again since the accident. I wasn't angry at biking but I was angry at my body and now being on an ebike I know exactly what Paul meant. I feel like me again. I live in Summit County CO and there is huge anti ebike sentiment here. It sucks to feel ostracized by the community that I felt so much a part of before. I am so glad to see so many positive comments about e-biking and no haters. And to the guy on the trail who was screaming at me to "get out of here" and then told me he knows that he'll be on an ebike one day. I need it now and the "rules" need to change. Here's hoping that people start to come around and see that EMTB's are still bikes..... just better!!!
I have an Orbea Rise and absolutely love it, I still get a workout riding but most importly it allows me to keep up with my 15yr old and actually enjoy being out riding with him.
Let the haters hate…I used to be one of them -now I have shifted and changed gears! Some people ride bikes for exercise, some just for fun, some a combo of both. I fall into that last category…but sometimes I want to just maximize the fun part. So I shuttle, or go to a lift access park, and of course now -we can ride an e-bike! Flew to Bentonville, rented regular bikes for two days, and e-bikes for two days. When I got home after riding the e-bikes…I was just as tired because I rode more than double the distance and maximized the fun! 🤘 It will be fun to see this type of content from someone I have been following for years!
As a Veteran with knee issues, these lightweight eMTB are giving me hope I'll be able to ride again after a decade plus. I'm glad someone of your influence is giving positive feedback. I can deal with the eMTB haters, but not having many places to ride is the main issue preventing me (well, aside from price). At the end of the day, that bike isn't much heavier than some enduro bikes 36-38lb. The whole weight doing more trail erosion thing is BS anyways because someone on a 10lb lighter bike but 10lb heavier than you is putting the same loads on the trails.
I always reserve my judgement on eMTB's for cases like yourself; they provide an opportunity to keep people in the sport and I will say that as eMTB's are getting more popular in my own area, it's mainly been individuals like yourself using them. I don't need one yet, but I don't want to rule it out for the future.
I was going to joke to Alex and say he switched to the other side but I can't. It makes me so mad when someone with a ebike catches disrespect. My buddy was talked to bad by someone who didn't even know him. My buddy was a moto cross rider and had more metal plates in him than the SOB giving him the hate had in his 7 grand overbiked bike he didn't know how to ride. You ride on brother and don't let anyone discourage you. And thank you for my freedom
eMTBs have benefits for reasons you've mentioned and I don't place judgement on anyone who rides one. However, I think for the trail erosion argument, eMTBs still have the potential to cause more erosion, but not because they weigh more. For instance, a trail system that I ride has a big climb before any descent can be made. On my regular enduro bike, I can only make that climb once or maybe twice then I'm done. I've seen an increase in people riding on those trails in the last few years and most people have eMTBs. Some of the guys in good shape can cycle through 2-3x as much as I can with the help from the electronic assistance. The trails have become noticeably more rutted and the trail no longer looks like a single track, which is unfortunate because it's also a walking trail. So, I don't know if there's a solution to this, but I guess if it were up to my suggestion, I would recommend that people either be mindful of the amount of times they ride a trail or if they are physically capable, maybe they might consider riding a regular bike
@@SuperGoforitall Hey I don't mean to butt in but they can slow down before a turn and stop dragging the brakes. I'm seeing a lot of that. I ride with a fella that rides an ebike because he's all busted up from his day's riding MX and I'm fine with it but more focus needs to be put on the correct style of riding, I used to ride dirt bikes and I ride my MTN bike in a total different way. Those riding ebikes because of health reasons might can't do much trail maintenance but someone able to work needs to get with the trail maintenance crew and sweat out the erosion problems where riders come into a turn to fast and hit the brakes. My buddy now knows the trail and hardly ever hits his brakes unless it's to wait on me 😃. Anyway just letting off some steam. Later my friend
Congrats on the new bike Alex! I picked up an ebike last year to help with my asthma issues while riding. Its been the best thing to get me out and keep me out on the trails.
I was sure it was going to be a gravel bike. Also what’s next, you riding clipless pedals? Looks like fun but I refuse to get into this genre until I am physically not able to pedal my enduro (my 1 quiver do it all)
So happy to see that you're supporting the existence of ebikes on the trails. I'm 72 years old and I have been riding mtb since 1987 and I did quite a bit of racing when I was younger so I'm familiar with "acoustic" bikes. I bought a Specialized Turbo Levo last year so that I could ride longer and further and I love it (I ride the local trails at least 3 times a week). I will say that mountain biking seemed like a true brotherhood until I got my ebike. Most of the folks on the trails are friendly and interested in my bike but there are definitely hard feelings from quite a few riders who have something against ebikes. I don't understand what the beef is, aren't we all out there to have fun? I have had some surgeries and I have some of the challenges that come with old age such as arthritis, I wouldn't be out there enjoying the trails without the ebike. To those of you who don't approve of ebikes, lighten up and enjoy the entire mtb tribe!
This is exactly one of the reasons I think e-bike is as proper as a normal bike, it can pro-long the fun for anyone with some issues, or make it so a person can become fitter through just having fun, if thebperson suffered from overweight or just plain bad physique
You forgot fraud. Pro closest is one of the worst places to buy a bike, new, used or other. Not sure what's worse, the fact he took the sponsorship knowing they are over priced or if he took the deal without doing ANY research on the company and its customers. I get it, he needs to make money and sustain his channel, but never push something you wouldn't use urself.
Excellent choice! I’m on a fully upgraded Levo and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Specialized can run quite silent besides the motor. Just need some adjustment. I’m not totally convinced about towing with an SL though.
The Kenevo SL is such a fun bike. I was riding the shop demo most of the winter. Felt so good, as I already had an Enduro, but, dang, smile on your face any time you hop aboard. You'll be stoked on that bike, especially because you can ride with people not on e-bikes and it still feels like a regular bike once aboard.
Turbo Kenevo SL. Great 1st e-bike pick! Welcome to the great new world of great e-bikes! Wait till you try it out in Colorado on a 2500+ foot climb. You will appreciate it. We ride them in Salida, especially to climb to the Rainbow trail or above 10,000 feet! There is a reason that 70% of the sales in Europe are e-bikes. It's the amazing fun factor!
Nice choice for your riding needs. I switched to an EMTB after breaking my back a few years back. It really aided in my recovery. I watched your video recently on the kind of workout you get on an EMTB. It looked like you pushed yourself on the ebike no differently then you did on your analog bike. I do the same. The difference is that my speeds, distances, and climb difficulties increased. I ride for a fitness, and fun benefit. That does not change from analog to EMTB. What ever makes others happy is up to them. I like my EMTB as it increases the fun factor on my rides. The more fun I have, the more often I end up craving a ride. For those that don't want an EMTB, ride an MTB. They are both amazing and a great excuse to play on a bike like we did as kids. It's a win win. Live to love. Love to ride, encourage others to find their stoke .
I switched to an e-bike after a really bad crash and shoulder injury. I have the same bike and love it! Freakin rips down hill and loves to be pushed hard in turns. I like how it gives you just enough assist to not get exhausted. Get in more runs and more laps. Best bike purchase I’ve ever made.
I got the Kenevo Comp. Even if it is an E-bike, I still get really tired on it. But it is good. Don't worry I didn't buy it, managed to win it. Which is lucky as I would not of brought it. Its the best bike I have owned. Hope you dont have anymore crashes. Good luck. :)
Great video dude! People who want to discredit or talk s**t about emtbs have obviously never spent time on them. They are so practical and make so much sense for those of us who have a life and are time poor. The well designed ones also handle amazing well and make the average trail a heap of fun. I bet you’ll end up spending more time on it than your analog bike. Enjoy mate👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
While it's not a perfect science, maybe track your calories burned until you hit a certain number (1000, for example). Ride the same climbs and trails until you hit 1000 calories burned. Wear a chest heart rate monitor, and see how long it takes you to burn 1000 calories. Ebikes will help you ride longer, which is awesome, but you will definitely burn less calories on climbs, but maybe more on downhills since the bike is heavier. Downhill workouts/calories could be different too, and they're just as important (using different muscles throwing the bike around while jumping and whipping through turns). Handling a heavier bike going downhill could burn more calories than your standard acoustic bike.
Already did that, Turbo Levo SL Comp Alloy 2019, 58,49KM distance - 1178 Cal. (1,5h moving time). Now the fun thing: 3 hours moving time - 1024 Cal - 60.04KM on 320Wh battery - it means that I used 106W per hour, but the thing is this was a 5 hour trip with stops (when bike was not turned off) so technically it was more like 60Watt per 1h. I came back quite tired, the trail was flat but still I wanted to drain-test the battery.
i know it fun and all to tow people. but talking from experience, we have two of the turbo levo bikes and racing around everywhere in turbo mode and occasionally towing people really wears on the motor. we still have the warranty (wich is a lifesaver) because we have replaced the motor 2 coming up on 3 times on each bikes now. because of this we usualy avoiid towing and try to use the less powerfull modes. its hard, especialy after knowing what it feels like blasting UP the trails almost as fast as going down. just keep this in mind when towing people or riding hard for long periods in turbo mode.
I think the best way to test the workout portion is to wear a heart rate monitor, I hear chest mount is best, and ride a local trail that has a good climb on your old bike one day and ride the same trail the next day on the e-bike and compare your heart rate and calories burned. You could also use the heart rate monitor to test each of the climbing settings on the bike to see just how much of a difference each setting makes.
@@The_Samplerawesome bro 😎 yeaaaaaaaa Dude ! See I TOLD YOU Ebike for your adventures will be so much better cos you can still climb but not get so tired 😴
Shout out to Gravelo also for being the only shop in town to install ride wraps! Not sure public opinion of ride wrap but I love it! Has saved me multiple times for silly unnecessary dings and nicks!
I'm on a full-power Levo. At the bike park yesterday there was a 45-minute wait for the lift. While I could climb the hill in 15 minutes. I got in 14 runs while my friends got in about 6 taking the lift.
Maybe I’m crazy, but ridden has always been about the fun factor first, workout has always been a by product of fun on a bike, so no matter what you ride, ride it for the fun of it…
When I started riding an eMTB years ago, mainly for health reasons, I didn’t know they were restricted in many, if not most, public parks and trail systems. I was thrilled when Fire Mountain and Kanuga came about. Was heartbroken to find Berm Park in Canton shunning the eBike once again. BUT, Now we are about to begin work on one of the largest public cat1 eBike friendly bike parks in the Carolinas. Phase 1 to break ground in 2 months. It’s been a long journey!
I rode a local trail system a couple of times before I learned that ebikes were not allowed there, I didn't see any rangers or other enforcement so I'm wondering what would happen if an "authority figure" saw me riding an ebike. I can understand banning throttle bikes but I think that pedal assist bikes should be OK. Has anyone on here been busted for riding an ebike? Are you in prison now??
That’s awesome. I bet you’ll love it. Don’t know why people hate on e-bikes. They are still a bike. They open the sport upto people that have health issues (like me/ asthma) that couldn’t safely ride otherwise. Also means you can get out after work and shred out 3 or 4 laps over 1. They are just a different tool for the same fun sport. I love them. But also love hardtails and everything in between. 🎉
I ride an Ibis Ripley for mountain biking, but I also did a lot of road riding on a Giant Defy Road Bike. Funny thing is, I'm not as young as I use to be (like I was when I rode a lot back in the 1990's) and I found myself not able to keep up with other bikers more than half my age. So I got myself a Trek Road E-Bike. What I've learned so far about E-Bikes: I'm still getting a great workout, even after a 20-30 mile ride and that I can now keep pace with other riders. I also learned that climbing hills now is a lot easier for this old man (I say that jokingly.) That said, I'm now thinking of purchasing myself an E-Mountain Bike for the same reasons. Thanks Alex for another great and informative video....GET STOKED BRO 😎
I love watching mountain bike vids of riding, and love e-bikes, but what sets you apart is your videos just flow right. The story, the emotions, the genuine nature really shine through. Great work, and you are going to love that e-bike. Opens up new worlds.
Enjoy the e-bike. I have a turbo Levo comp. I can do 4x the laps I could on my hardtail analog. Never going back. If you ride for the rush of downhill there is nothing better. Laps after laps after laps
I combine my analog trailbike with my downhill ebike on the weekends and I've noticed a great increase on power on the legs, by treating the ebike rides as effectively riding on a resistance roller (since in the UK they are capped at 25 km/h anything past that is you fighting the motor). By pushing my legs on the ebike (which is 25kg vs 15 on my trailbike) my quads have gotten much more fit and when I'm on the analog bike i just fly. You got yourself a very similar combo, plus you will ride a lot more in the winter or on bad weather, as you can get in an out of a ride much quickly and without as much misery. Fantastic choice and great video Alexander!
honestly an underrated part of ebikes is the grip they have. the extra weight at a lower spot on the bike is oddly helpful. If i ever get a new bike it will be an ebike.
Yeah, they are amazingly stable and corner really well in my experience. Even on low speed tech, the low center of gravity makes them easy to balance and track stand at low speed.
When i got my first ebike rm altitude poweplay i was riding it nonstop for 2 weeks but then started to dislike it because i noticed its not replacing what i can do or feel with my trailbike and i started to notice that i was loosing fitness since i used to train a lot. Now its my cheat day bike. I train 5 days a week with mixed gym and long rides on my regular bikes and on friday is my cheatday and i ride some downhill trails when my legs are sour from the training before. In my old age its important to me that i keep my edge and create enough strss on my system to stay fit. I wouldn’t like to have only an ebike, it would make me weaker but as a addition to the training its actually awesome.
My wife and I both have SL Turbo Levo’s. The extender battery really has a lot of advantages. We travel a lot with our SL’s and it is nice to run off the extender battery first. That way we can just take the extender battery into the hotel to charge it instead of the whole bike. The internal battery takes about two hours to charge and the extender battery four hours. This is my only complaint about the extender battery is why it takes so long to charge when it is 1/2 the size of the internal battery.
It's absolutely crazy what you guys have to deal with in the U.S regarding eBikes. Here at Spain, an ebike it's like a normal bike. All trails are avaliable from both. Most of the new bikes sell these days over here are eBikes. Once you try it's hard to go back if you are only looking for fun.
It’s cool to see that’s what you went with, and that you’re having fun with it. We’ve met a couple times and I’m curious why the S3? You should also mullet it, game changer, only drawback which doesn’t seem to mess with you is seat post insertion. Keep having fun!
I have often thought that with the number of trails you ride that require long climbs that an ebike would be really interesting. Looking forward to seeing what you think of it.
Man! Sick bike bro!! I had a full blown Levo but it's a bit too much and went back to a regular bike. Can't wait to see if maybe the SL is the sweet-spot. Congrats on the ride dude
So glad to see you giving ebikes some love! They make you a better rider so much faster just by the miles your able to cover. Plus they are just so fun! I know mine is a smile machine! Now if we could just work on pisgah and DuPont access it would be awesome!
You could do a comparison of calories burned and HR through out the ride. More recent Garmin devices have e-mtb as an option that takes into account the power of the bike.
Good choice. I love my Turbo Kenevo Expert 6 Fattie, but it feels unwieldy on the steepest and gnarliest trails compared to my YT Tues dh bike. I'm sure that bike is a good middle ground with the lighter motor, a bit more agile and flickable but honestly plenty of Nm of power.
Ebikes lead to way more laps, saddle time, progression, and fun. They add to your cardio through aerobic numbers, but not as much anaerobic. Basically, you don't bonk near as quickly and therefore ride for a much longer time. Actually burning more calories than the acoustic bike. I personally think on fast large jumps that they are better (more stable in the air with the low slung added weight)! Enjoy!
Your review is on point. I rented the same bike on a visit to Innerleithen Scotland last month and the bike was amazing on the super steep wet trails there. The additional weight definitely get you moving down hill faster but i mostly love the planted feeling you get from this bike. All that extra weight is low on the bike so it adds stability and climbing is a dream. For a reference point, I rode for 5 hours and just had about 12%-15% with the backup battery, which I strongly recommend. You mentioned riding on tight trails, I’d say Innerleithen has some pretty tight trails and the bike did well. For a reference I normally rode an Ibis Ripmo, so I’m used to a slightly longer bike. I live in Central NC now, ’d probably buy this buy as my everyday rider if I lived in Western NC and EBike laws here would catchup with the rest of the country. Thanks for another great video, keep them coming!
I'm personally very hesitant to try and ebike since it might make climbing on an acoustic mentally challenging, however ive absolutely no problem with them. If they start morphing into mini electric dirt bikes I'll get pissed, but otherwise just ignore any criticism and enjoy your new bike.
After all the bad stuff I've read about the pros closet it sucks to see mtb content creators pushing their brand. I looked at them a while ago and was just turned off from them because of their crap prices. But ive read nothing but bad things about them since then.
Love your videos. I noticed your 5K monitor is no longer mounted. Did it break? Did the mount fail? The work station in my van is loosely based on your design/monitor mount . I have not installed it yet, but have 1 1/4 inch of sandwiched plywood behind the paneling to mount into and I pre-ran the wires. Did your system hold up? Thanks for your help!
I have rode a custom ebike for a bit over 3 years now. You definitely get a workout on it but you just get to go a heck of a lot faster doing it. But when I'm on the trail a lot of the time my bike is off because I'd leave who I am riding with in the dust, therefore getting an even bigger workout. but for single rides in the woods, it's great to go 20 miles deep and back whereas on my pedal bike I'd get max 10 miles.
Ebikes are awesome and it's annoying that state parks like dupont forest don't allow them. It doesn't do anything to the trail that regular bikes do and it would allow soooo many more people to get on and try mountain biking.
Nope. Its the way some ebike riders behave. That throttle makes some want to ruin it for the rest of us. I believe nobody is stressing how much better the LACK of a throttle is for everybody. As with motorcycles in the 70's, we shall all be banned riding on public lands in the near future due to the 1% who simply do not care. At present, I cannot get anyone NOT riding an eBike to wave or smile in return. It is getting bad. And yes you get a great workout on an eBike.
E-bikes are great but because they are heavier and the added torque they do rip softer trails more especially if there are hoards of them running the same track over and over, if all I rode is hard pack and western mountain I would definitely.
@@jackmcandle6955the thing is a fatter or more fit rider would do the same. ebikes are like 10kg more at most. peoples weight difference is A LOT more.
I just bought my second used bike & and yes, buying used can be pretty sketchy and nerve-wracking until you see the product in your hands. With that being said, I use pinkbike. I live in the PNW, so there's a lot of bikes selling out of the Oregon Washington areas that offers awesome deals straight from the seller themselves, and all I have to do is drive a few hours to see the bike in person. I just bought my second bike off pinkbike, a Transition Repeater in excellent condition for under 6,000 bucks with 350 miles on it and new wheels and tires. I know that pinkbike and the pros closet are very different when it comes to selling bikes but no matter what before you buy make sure that you can go through that bike with a fine tooth comb and a magnifying glass👍🏿
I love E bikes, even if I ride an analogue...just because they can bring more people to the sport, and they can be really efficient with your time, some friends ride on them and they are sick!, I truly get why people like them and it's totally fair. The only downside for me is actually how some people don't respect the rest of the riders in the trails, especially the young newbie who wants to show off he is the "boss" of the trail when you are going downhill, a couple of weeks ago an Ebiker overtook my girlfriend and make her fall in a risky area and just said "I thought I could do it" the problem is when their lack of experience ends up affecting the rest.
Glad to see some e-bike content on the channel. Just got my first emtb before a big encounter with a tree on my acoustic bike. Ended up with a broken hip and rib but as of yesterday, less than a month later, I'm back out on the trail recovering on my e-bike.
I have the Levo SL (same motor as the Kenevo SL) and it’s a super versatile bike. I ride Enduro, XC and even gravel races. I also commute to work on it!
TPC is awesome. And although I am not a fan of E bikes, for what you use it for it's appropriate:big climbs to take big downhills. I just don't understand why anyone would need one on flat, Florida trails and I see a lot of them out here.
Dude the new bike is so sick!!!! The longer travel will be great for bike park riding, I recently got a 180-170 enduro bike like yours just not an ebike and its great.
I need that stand. My eMTB arrived a week and half ago and I am not regretting it. Except for the cost. Even a deal is giant dent. But enjoy the ability to repeat sections ad infinitum.
The only thing i dislike with an e-mtb is the prices. Some days it would have been nice to have one for the climbs. Some days you want to climb without assist and having one of each could have been fun.
I love my e-bike. Rode regular bikes for 20 years and having more fun than ever. I would like to be able to ride Pisgah but no e-bikes allowed. I would love to see you address this and the reasons why e-bikes are so hated and misunderstood!
Would never sell or buy from TPC. They will low ball an offer on your bike, and then charge about MSRP for a 2 year old bike. Crazy that people use their service.
I got an e-bike this year too. Well worth it. I live in the south and don't get much practice other than a road biking. Unless you get out there and easily ride 30 miles a day.... If you're ass can handle it
A lot of your riding is solo, so you just put the same amount of effort in and get more riding. Use the modes and assistance levels like another additional set of gears, and you'll do well. The heavier bikes give you a more full body workout, and you'll still end up putting as much effort in leg wise, unless your battery runs out first. Really looking forward to seeing your content and thoughts, since others that use emtbs, like Sam Pilgrim and Tom Cardy don't really show how they compare to their normal bikes, they just use them or not, and show that ebikes can do everything a normal bike can, and faster. Your's being the the smaller motor and battery will be another good interesting comparison. These specialised are pretty long bikes, and add that extra travel, it may be a harder bike on tight climbs etc, but it'll be cool to hear your reflections on it! Good on you! I have a 2020 merida e160 9000, as well as my old 2019 merida 160 enduro, i pretty much only use the enduro at parks and lift/shuttle days, and stick to the ebike for most everything else, and if i'm on a trip with a mix of stuff, because i don't have a van to take both in, i often end up with just the emtb because more options. I also have a second spare battery to swap over if needed. Done a few over 100km days, and even over 100kms on a single battery a few times with a bunch of eco and off when no assistance was needed. When i ride with mates i usually stick to eco, sometimes off, but knock it up to the middle trail mode on some of the down hills for more fun and that bit more kick after a slow corner or feature on the downhill. In Australia we are only allowed 15mph, where as the US has a 20mph allowance. I have mine switched to US mode even though it's not legal here (that said there are people fully derestricted going around, and unless they race, generally nobody notices or cares. Thankfully everywhere is ebike legal. Because they recognise it is not a moto, and doesn't actually damage trails any more than a standard bike can.
Heck yeah man! I'm all for e-bikes! Although I don't personally own one, I think that everyone should be able to experience this sport for the fun it provides, how they chose to do so is their choice. As long as you're shredding out on the trails and having fun, that's all I care about.
Great choice and best of luck this season with the new rig. Only down side is what happens when you go back to an acoustic bike. You’re about to be spoiled rotten
I actually had an ankle injury and was planning on a new bike I am seriously considering a ebike it may be the only way I will be able to enjoy biking again
Next try a full power / capacity eMTB. They are amazing. I just got an IBIS OSO and never though I would get such a big and burly bike. The size and weight disappear under you and the extra beefy components are desirable due to the extra wear and tear one puts on them due to the increased weight and speed. Interesting times!
Last year i toured the country riding my ebike. Heavy trek but i could only bring one bike so i figured get more reps at bike parks and jumps. I lapped people everywhere but the heavy bike was less jumpy. Hard to launch This year im bringing no ebike, but one dirt jumper and one downhill. We shall see which summer is more fun…. Glad you selected the next bike on my list Alex. Thanks for posting. What did u pay for the SL?
Last year was the first time I rode an ebike at Kanuga after 2 years of my Amish bike. So much better on an ebike. More runs and more fun. I could get up to the top in 3.5 minutes from the top of Tortuga.
Before you even said you struggling to get it out was a hint, just that first tug on the box was obvious 😂 Curious to see how you feel about an ebike :)
Dude I'm stoked you got that bike That's the bike I'm going to get next! I'm glad I can see what your experiencing with it. Great choice. I'm going to keep my Rocky Mountain altitude and then just have the Kenevo SL. I'm not a fan of the pro closet whatsoever they offer lowball prices for your bike and then sell them for too much, but that said I'm stoked that you got a free bike out of them and you can ride it all year.
Ah yes, the pros closet. Why buy a new bike when you can buy a used bike at new bike prices!

Or sometimes even pay more!!
Totally. Was pretty interested when I first heard about it and then looked at the website and saw the prices. One of the worst business models.
Hey, don't forget that you also get constantly spammed by them once they have your email, even if you opt out!
@@tagzedawg 😂
Never bother selling your bike to them. I have a pretty high end MTB and they gave me only store credit and a very small amount as an option. It was a joke.
True factory suspension 2022 and they offered me less than 2k. Then they turn it around and sell a 4 year old bike for barely less than a new bike
This video is an ad lmao
Same experience. Figured based on what they were selling similar bikes for that they'd make a fair offer. Nope. $1700 for a 2 year old $6000 bike in pretty good shape.
yup, I tried selling to them and they completely low-balled me for store credit only
same here pros closet is a complete joke!
Nice 🤘🏽
You said 69....
2 Points
Exactly! But instead with my father.
anything other than walking is a form of "cheating"
It will be fun to see this type of content from someone I have been following for years!
Looks like fun but I refuse to get into this genre until I am physically not able to pedal my enduro (my 1 quiver do it all)
Amen.
Right on! I’m with ya
Yes. 100% yes.
Jealousy and envy my friend, no one who’s genuinely better than you will talk down on you for having one. They simply just don’t understand. Cheers 🍻
This is exactly one of the reasons I think e-bike is as proper as a normal bike, it can pro-long the fun for anyone with some issues, or make it so a person can become fitter through just having fun, if thebperson suffered from overweight or just plain bad physique
bEta-bikers coping so hard. 😂
Way to show off all your skills at once. From salesman to presenter to editor to rider and story teller. Nicely done.
Thank you for calling the unassisted bike acoustic. It hurts my Electrical Engineer heart when they call push bikes "analog"
I have the KSL too, the chattering noise is not normal, somethings loose.
I think it was the front fork mud guard that was making that sound! I got it sorted now :P
Love to ride, encourage others to find their stoke
.

Handling a heavier bike going downhill could burn more calories than your standard acoustic bike.
or maybe just have fun riding.
@@TomCollins-c4h he asked for suggestions, so...
Yo I appreciate this bit if shared experience man; I'll keep in mind for sure!
I always wondered about this.
Hey it's Ball again! I'm glad you're doing well!
Can I just say: I'm love this consistent upload schedule
Yooo now THAT’S what i love to hear, glad you are enjoying! 👊🤘

Look forward to hearing more about it! Where will it be located?
Thank you so much for the kind words, I work really hard on the vids so that means a lot 🙌
I’ve been considering an e-bike now I’m 40. Glad to see you got one so I can watch how it goes with you.
"analog" and "acoustic" bikes😂!
Cant say im blown away by prices on TBC but I suppose sales will be something to look out for. Nice to have such a service at least.
honestly an underrated part of ebikes is the grip they have. the extra weight at a lower spot on the bike is oddly helpful. If i ever get a new bike it will be an ebike.
Yeah, they are amazingly stable and corner really well in my experience. Even on low speed tech, the low center of gravity makes them easy to balance and track stand at low speed.
@@mrvwbug4423oh for shure. lower cg feels good.
This is my only complaint about the extender battery is why it takes so long to charge when it is 1/2 the size of the internal battery.
wait you cant take the internal battery out easily? that seems like a huge bummer for me.
You can suffer, and you can workout for the same time that you did on your analog bike. With the eBike you get three times the trails.
I love the idea of e bikes! When I don't want to pedal I just ride my dirt bike. So I'll probably never do an e bike, but I love what they do!
You have to pedal an e-bike tho lol
So glad to see you giving ebikes some love! They make you a better rider so much faster just by the miles your able to cover. Plus they are just so fun! I know mine is a smile machine!
Now if we could just work on pisgah and DuPont access it would be awesome!
Exactly. Why buy a bike that you can’t ride on your favorite trails in western NC.
If they start morphing into mini electric dirt bikes I'll get pissed, but otherwise just ignore any criticism and enjoy your new bike.
id say it really depends. shure fireroad climbs will feel like shit on a normal bike afterwards but you can tackle much much steeper stuff.
With the bike market now I’ll just wait for some nice sales, support the local shops, and the bike will be new with some free maintenance perks :)
Sickkkkkkk. I ride a Levo SL every day and could not be happier. Congrats on the new bike!
Honestly, as a content creator, whatever makes your life easier would be amazing for us viewers.
This is a great advertisement for that type of bike. A non lift bike park and racking up some runs! Cool.
E-Bikes are awesome! As a kid, I don’t have one, but riding one is an awesome experience because u can ride so far with such ease!
Glad to see some e-bike content on the channel. Just got my first emtb before a big encounter with a tree on my acoustic bike. Ended up with a broken hip and rib but as of yesterday, less than a month later, I'm back out on the trail recovering on my e-bike.
ouch. glad to hear your back out recovering. Broken ribs and hip suck.
Haters gonna hate! Nice bike and I'm glad you're healthy and continue to post good content after all these years!
Welcome to the new world! I love my Orbea Rise, which is an awesome e-bike. The same weight as yours! 42 lbs.
I have the Levo SL (same motor as the Kenevo SL) and it’s a super versatile bike. I ride Enduro, XC and even gravel races. I also commute to work on it!
I've towed friends... definitely uses more battery. Helps to tow with a full powered.
stoked for you bro - glad that you're enjoying the new bike 🤘
TPC is awesome. And although I am not a fan of E bikes, for what you use it for it's appropriate:big climbs to take big downhills. I just don't understand why anyone would need one on flat, Florida trails and I see a lot of them out here.
Dude the new bike is so sick!!!! The longer travel will be great for bike park riding, I recently got a 180-170 enduro bike like yours just not an ebike and its great.
So stoked for you! That's awesome!
I need that stand. My eMTB arrived a week and half ago and I am not regretting it. Except for the cost. Even a deal is giant dent. But enjoy the ability to repeat sections ad infinitum.
If you don't like the cost of your ebike, you definitely can't afford that workstand.
Great Video Brother, glad you're having fun and happy with your new RIDE........🤝🏾🇺🇲💪🏾👌🏾
The only thing i dislike with an e-mtb is the prices. Some days it would have been nice to have one for the climbs. Some days you want to climb without assist and having one of each could have been fun.
Love your content, easily my favorite biking youtuber. Keep up the good work!
I'm stoked for you. You will love climbing now.
I love my e-bike. Rode regular bikes for 20 years and having more fun than ever. I would like to be able to ride Pisgah but no e-bikes allowed. I would love to see you address this and the reasons why e-bikes are so hated and misunderstood!
Oh yeah, bikes and coffee what’s not better. Definitely will check this place out this summer.
Would never sell or buy from TPC. They will low ball an offer on your bike, and then charge about MSRP for a 2 year old bike. Crazy that people use their service.
Duuuuuuuude no way you got that bike, it is sooooo sick! I work at a Specialized dealer and I've wanted one since they came out!
When you pulled it out, I knew it was an ebike! F yeah, come back to Newbury park I’ll buy the beer and show you around.
I got an e-bike this year too. Well worth it. I live in the south and don't get much practice other than a road biking. Unless you get out there and easily ride 30 miles a day.... If you're ass can handle it
Great choice for a test rig. I probably would have done the same as I've never owned an ebike.
Cool dude. I think accessibility is the best argument for ebikes. But climb faster and get to the top fresher to get more downhill is compelling.
great video. love to hear that stoke when you got on the e-bike. so sick !!
So goodo
Nice choice! Stoked to see yah shred some trails on it soon👊🏽
Buy from a local bike shop !
E-mtb or not, so long as you're ridin, it's all good brutha.
Before you even said you struggling to get it out was a hint, just that first tug on the box was obvious 😂
Curious to see how you feel about an ebike :)
50% will dislike is all you needed to know
Dude I'm stoked you got that bike That's the bike I'm going to get next!
Sick setup man!! Always gets me stoked seeing you ride
