It's just me over here running everything behind the scenes so it's hard to find the time needed for a video like this, but I do love making this style of video, and every now and then I'll get a chance to... Always makes it worthwhile to hear how much you enjoy it, so thanks!!
I have a 1st generation La Sal and it is still my favorite bike. You can ride a lot of gnarly stuff and while it is super capable, it doesn't mute the trail.
Sweet new rig! Keep extra batteries! The battery actually lasts long. I don’t even take it out. I just hop on and ride. You can also check the battery level on the app. Enjoy the trip!! 🚲🚲🚲
I've had my La Sal Peak for a little over 2 years and have loved it! Most of my local trails are very tame, and it's definitely overkill here, but I know that when I travel, that I have a bike that can do pretty much anything. The unexpected bonus was that it climbs really well, better even that my trail bike.
Ditto! I've had my La Sal 2.0 for about two years and love it. I thought I would be way over biked. I live in central Texas so not much elevation but lots of rocky, loose, ledgy, dusty techy terrain. I've riden DH once and the La Sal was like a magic carpet. However the La Sal feels a lot like trail bike on tame trails. It climbs techy terrain really well. It feels easy to maneuver for a long travel, long wheel base bike. It's a true all rounder.
I'm running a La Sal Peak right now and I've been really blown away about how good it climbs for such a big bike. I also noticed it was super playful in the air. I prefer it as a mullet. I've tried both and it just suits my riding style better as a mullet.
I've watched so many of your videos. But this is the first one that I've seen showing just how fast you are actually. The jump sand stuff you clear normally, give a good indication, but some of the camera angles you used in this video highlights your speed!
No, it does not, as long as the travel is matched to the type of trails being ridden. I got my first FS back in the early nineties and I noticed right away the increased traction and cornering ability. This added up to more speed which eqauals more fun😊😊
I don't know how you do it but I'm not even into mountain biking but these are just so relaxing to watch. Like my own personal digital zen garden haha!
Thanks Joe!! It's just me behind the scenes here running everything on the channel so finding time to film and produce videos at this level is hard to do on a consistent basis, but man I do really love making them and seeing how much you guys enjoy them!
I ride a Fezzari Delano Peak, and it is RAD. Fezarri has been awesome to work with, and honestly, because of the product and the service, I'm a loyal Fezzari ride, andd my next bike will be a Fezzari as well. To me, it's a no brainer for value and customer support.
Congrats on your La Sal! I am a Fezzari Ambassador and after picking up the La Sal earlier this year, I ride it the most now. I've spent months dialing and tinkering with my setup. Something you might want to try is extending your fork to 180mm. I have a DVO, so this is a pretty simple task. I have found that the small extension doesn't really impact the playfulness of it that much, and in the event I'm riding around on more tame trails, I will flip the token in the linkage to the high position to give it a little more snap. I see you hooked up with Norm or Ambassador General. Great guy and the whole Fezzari staff at HQ are amazing people! If you are ever planning a ride in the NW Georgia area, we have not so well known little place with chunky steeps that are very La Sal worthy and I'd be glad to take you there. I've heard a few other riders refer to it as "Little Windrock". Just hit up Norm for my number, my name is TJ.
Nice to see you on an Enduro! Hope you have fun with it. I think the reason for shifting after you pressed is because the casset has certain porints where the perfect spots are(narrow tooth) and the shifter knows these spots and remembers how much gear changes are left but still wants to hit the spots to reduce grinding gears. Was like this on the older SRAM models and from what I saw and mainly heard when following someone with the new model, this "Software optimized shifting" has gone 2.0😅
Great video. Would be great to get more in depth on parts between your old and new Fazzari and how they differ. The fork, shock, bar width, tires etc. All of that is interesting to me as an intermediate rider to hear from an experienced rider.
I own both, my son rides the Delano. I also have a Signal Peak and Solitude. The Signal I use for racing XC but I will tell you in the 120MM build, its very capable as a Down-Country bike. When I first got my son's Delano and rode it, I immediately felt like I was on a long travel Signal, more capable, but I was surprised how playful it was. The La Sal definitely feels different and the sensation of 'bigger' is there. That being said, if I'm not racing XC, or doing a training ride with one of my fast riding partners, the La Sal is my Go-To bike. It's very comfortable to pedal and pedals quite easily. I have extra wheel sets, and tire selection makes a huge different on snap and roll, so I sometimes switch to something less toothy for mellower rides easier trails. With the Signal and La Sal, I don't really feel like I need a bike in the gap between the 2. As an advanced rider I have become comfortable with pushing the Signal to it's limits on fast/steep/technical and I kinda know where that is, and it's plenty far enough towards the La Sal's sweet spot, so I don't really miss having a Delano. Then again, you can stroke a Delano in L or XL and run it 160/147. I have not ridden this setup but have heard some really good things. You could ask on the Fezzari Owner's FB page about this topic and I'm sure you will get some good feedback. Another option is to run the La Sal standard 170 but flip the linkage token to the high position. This also adds a little more snap on flat/calm trails.
I have been riding the Delano Peak for a couple of years and love it! I’ve been debating if I should get the La Sal Peak for a while, and then I see this video, and then find out you’re going to Peru (I’m Peruvian) it’s like it’s meant to be!!
Yeah the transmission "queuing" up shifts is kinda weird. Personally I'm not a fan of wireless shifting at all though so I already have my biases 😆 I long-term demoed a Trek Fuel with GX AXS and I couldn't get past the lack of physical feedback when I shifted, it felt like I was just suggesting what gear I wanted and had no idea how many I was going up or down. Looks like a sick bike and perfect for shuttle days, enjoy the trip man!
That's because it literally what's happening: queuing. Each button press puts one shift in the queue. This queue will then get executed the moment the cassette is in the right position to shift. In theory this means smoother shifting when riding, since all shifts happen at the exact moment the cassette has a path for the chain to go to next sprocket. It doesn't sound so great when you're going at slower speeds or in gearing with low sprocket rotation since that just means the time needed to execute those shifts increases so much you loose the feeling of connectivity between your inputs and what the bike is doing. I guess adding sensors to know more about what the bike is doing would just add to much to the cost. Otherwise it should be possible to just make it aware enough to drop shifts in queue when you're at a stop or something. Seth's been riding these a long time isn't he, he should be able to tell you all about if I'm just crazy or that it really does feel better when you're going faster. @@The_Sampler
The Magnesium is quite possibly the reason cramps stopped after taking LMNT, Magnesium has been a great supplement for me to hold those back. The addition of getting electrolytes back is a huge combo.
Don't forget to try Guinea Pig while ur there... Stinks a bit but tastes OK! Make sure its not rat tho... One has straight claws, one curved.... (yes they come cooked whole, head and claws on!!) I can't recall which claw shape are guinea pig tho!
Realistically never had issues with it. a couple rides where I didn't charge it and it just lasted. otherwise 5 mins on a charger and it's fine. I recently broke my thumb and it's allowed me to get back in the bike earlier. I cannot shift with a regular shifter.
Bro, my cat laid down on my space bar right as you started on the LMNT plug and got off exactly as you finished. I was like "Dude, did he really 2x his LMNT plug?". Nope. Replayed it and it was normal lol. A lot of UT riders love the La Sal and have said that it's pretty much all you need. Looks like you feel the same too.
Congrats!!! Killer new rig. The Transmission looks great for durability, but damn does that thing shift SLOOOOW! The AXS is so much faster. I wonder why?
Damn, I didnt want a Transmission to begin with but...that sound!? What the heck!!! Thats so louuddd, I couldnt stand it!!! 😳 Imaging hearing that for like 3 hours straight!
My buddy charged both of his derailleur batteries before his race today and still had a mechanical. He had to swap batteries because his battery was too cold.
To me too much tire is more of a fun killer, than too much suspension. Inserts and DH casings are great for DH, and rocky trails at high speeds....but overkill most of the time.
Lol. I made the same mistake when I got my new bike. Took off the plastic attached to the cone that goes into the hub took me hours to figure out what happened when I tried to attach the wheel tire to the fork.
170 all around is the way to go. Modern carbon bikes are so light, you hardly notice it on the climbs... but you got all you need for going down and stunting...
Ngl, I expected another e-bike. But I understand why you wouldn't want get one when you explained the shuttling. But the Bike seems dope, and the new transmission seems to offer a bunch of cool unique features. Very Nice 👍

To be honest I've switched from a mondraker dune XR full enduro bike to the pivot shadowcat 160/140 it's a pretty light trail bike and to be honest it suits me way way more as I want to cover ground these days as I get older while still having fun on the downs. It climbs and pedals soooooo much better than any enduro bike I've tried yet only gives up a little on the downs so all round it's a better day of riding.. also the way the lighter bikes change direction on the downs is soooooo much fun.
Agree. Love my 429 for the same reasons. Plus, it doesn't have a bunch of non-functional carbon designs. I know brands like fezzari try for a different aesthetic look, but for me, these and devinci bikes are carbon abominations. Pivots are just so refined
Just recently demoed a bike with axs for the first time. I found I really missed the tactile “click” of the shifter. It just feels wrong to me. I guess I’m cable for life. Lol
Somebody has stepped up their production value. Damn son.

Hey man I agree you have certainly upped production value dude! So good to see man!
I have a 1st generation La Sal and it is still my favorite bike. You can ride a lot of gnarly stuff and while it is super capable, it doesn't mute the trail.
That's a great way of putting it - not 'muting' the trail, and I'd have to agree!
As a bike mechanic at an LBS, this makes me happy. Enjoy your new ride, brother.
Sweet new rig! Keep extra batteries! The battery actually lasts long. I don’t even take it out. I just hop on and ride. You can also check the battery level on the app. Enjoy the trip!! 🚲🚲🚲

Nice - had someone running the camera! Cool to see the different shots.

More speed also equals bigger crashes when things come unstuck 😂💥💨
Good choice! Love mine! Surprisingly a good climber for a burly enduro bike. And of course eats up anything downhill! 🤙🏼
looks like a new chapter in your adventures. more steeps, bigger hits.
That shot with leaves falling in front of the bike was sick
Very cool excited to see what type of riding you do on this big rig!
Production quality was top notch! Great video and can’t wait to see you shred this sled!
Cool ! Thanks..Ride safe everyone!
Looking forward to seeing you ride this beast of a bike in Peru. Great vid mate 👍
Excellent vid, Alex...sweet bike. Have fun and stay safe in Peru...
Thanks Thomas!! I'll do my best my man; can't wait to share the adventure with you all!
Just bought that exact bike same color. Can’t wait to ride it, and as always great video!
I don't know how you do it but I'm not even into mountain biking but these are just so relaxing to watch. Like my own personal digital zen garden haha!
So happy you enjoy it dood, that means a lot 😁
Great video! I’ve missed this style of video you do man, good stuff 🤙 and the more travel the better! I’ve got 190mm on my enduro rig now 😅

Good weapon for peruvian raw MTB trails! Enjoy the land of the Incas!!!
Hell yeah! Congrats on the La Sal 👊 hope you can make another trip to Cali soon 🙏 miss you brotha
Dude I want to get out there so badly my man!! Miss you guys too 😘
I thought you were watching a Berm Peak episode to figure out the transmission, haha, much easier just to call him when you have his number.
Legit bike man, have fun on it!
Congrats on your new ride!!!!!!!!!!
Bro, That bike is sick!
Wireless shifting is amazeballs! Love it!
Thanks for the video Alex 👍 Try it in the high setting; I like it way better 🙂
This is FLATLY your best produced video to date. Really upping your game on quality, shots, and editing. Well done!
this is incredible travel~ take care~
Great video Alex. Looking at buying a pair of Fezzari's for my wife and myself.

Cramps won't stop with magnesium alone though, you need the salt.
I've got the little brother Abajo peak. Love those bikes! I also love the color scheme on that bike!

Absolutely beautiful build
Love the epic guitar solo montage
You make Turkey Pen look so easy. Makes me want to ride there.
just ordered a La Sal Peak last week cannot wait for that call for pick up as a Utah local
A commercial to avoid wireless shifting :)

The LSP would have been perfect for your Quebec trip.
Lol. I made the same mistake when I got my new bike. Took off the plastic attached to the cone that goes into the hub took me hours to figure out what happened when I tried to attach the wheel tire to the fork.
You need to Download the application and from there you can set up your shifts and stuff .
Love the channel keep it up.

Hey Alex, love your videos ❤
Thanks dood! 🙌

I saw this brand pop up on facebook and i wasnt sure if it was a legit brand,so im glad to see this video
Yeah hey bro saying hi from Washington DC I was just in Asheville..
Ngl, I expected another e-bike. But I understand why you wouldn't want get one when you explained the shuttling. But the Bike seems dope, and the new transmission seems to offer a bunch of cool unique features. Very Nice 👍
He will probably get once he has to turn the loaner it back in to the pros closet.
Nice bike man! I kinda want to try the wireless shifting, but I'm just not sure about it just yet.
K, I’ve had AXS for 2 years on 2 different bikes and I’m not crazy about it my derailleur hanger is always bending on rough terrain. My next all mountain bike I’m going back to cable derailleur as the cable tension I think puts less strain and weight on the hanger.
Which leads me to the suspension, I love the bigger suspension, my days of cringing at huck to flat are behind me. I bought a mullet DH bike for bike park mostly for the added suspension and also cuz my all mountain bike was getting eaten up when I rode there. I’m even digging the heavier bike it forces me to be conscious of the bike flick and flow that maybe I wouldn’t have had to do with a trail bike plus I love the speed! The mullet is also a must have I notice I can rail turns without it feeling like I have too much rear tire and it helps in the steeps. Yea love the big suspension and at 5’10” 200ish lb I love the large frame for the stability.
Awesome bike!! To me, when it got real squirrely on that decent, it looked like you might have too much rebound set in the back shock and you got bucked?
His rear wheel looked to clip something in the leaves to me
Very nice bike.
omg how quiet it is! Id love a bike like this :D
How pissed will fezzari be if you sell the transmission and replace it with GX?
I also think that LMNT has made a difference on my cycling.
I'm guessing the new SRAM transmission uses a position sensor (red ring on the cassette) to tell it when to actually shift so it always shifts at the correct degree on the cassette and that is why it shifts so accurately and smoothly but also the reason for the delay.
Yep
I think the cassette has narrowwide on all but one of the rings so it has to shift very precisely
Great video, such s good film maker bro 🤘🏽
Great video!
What are your opinions on frame protection, is it something worth investing in? Do the scratches even really matter? What about aluminum frames? Thanks.
I could do the Transmission by myself in 20mins but it went back to the bike shop for another 15mins.

At the risk of coming off as a tool, I do enjoy his content. Glad he got a more capable bike. Just find those bikes uuuugly

I was wondering what helmet is that in the video?
Is it a 29r? I must have missed where he mentions it. I assume so.
How I feel these new enduro bikes are so good once u ride one u don't need any other bike
Speaking of enduro, what ever ended up happening to the pumpkin? (Apologies if missed an episode on it)
