They don’t have a country song, but Am I Wrong gives off a great Southern Rock Vibe. They debuted in 2013 and have had quite an uphill battle. And they are so much more than just music. It’s truly the biggest rabbit hole I’ve ever fallen in, but so worth it. The fans are called “Army” and they are quite protective of BTS. Also, purple represents Army, long sweet story, so you may see a ton of 💜💜💜💜’s. Have fun on your journey. Most of BTS music has much deeper meanings, so never hesitate to search for explanation videos and react to those too after the MV. Army loves watching someone discover the boys. They also have dance practice videos that go along with the songs. There are also color coded lyric videos that change colors to show you who is singing what parts. Don’t worry, you will eventually learn their names, faces, and voices apart. Heck stay long enough and you’ll learn the ears, eyes, hands, lips, shadows ect! 😂. If you don’t want to react live, watch some of the intros to the group. Once you start getting to know them, then you’ll start to understand why they have the largest most diverse fan base in history. Have fun, and thanks for opening up your horizons.

Go down the BTS rabbit hole, my friend. You won’t be disappointed. This was a mix of rap/singing/edm, but they’ve got straight up rap tracks, r&b, edm, ballads, Latin pop, pop, you name it. When BTS debuted their company was small. At the time there were 3 main music companies in Korea. The CEO of Big Hit (BTS’ company) had been a producer for one of the “Big 3” companies, but had become disenchanted with how money was a priority over the art of making music, and even the artists welfare, so he left and formed his own company. When BTS debuted under his new company and started to do well the big 3 companies felt threatened and exerted all their power and influence to squash BTS. The fandoms of the bands that were signed to the big 3 also rallied to try to destroy BTS. The opposition they faced was unimaginable. But they persisted and started winning awards and gaining fans with their talent and hard work. This song might seem like them talking about how awesome they are, but really it’s them clapping back at their haters and saying to the world, “despite everything being against us we still succeed. This is the last we’re going to say about it and then we won’t even care about the haters anymore” And they don’t, although honestly I miss petty BTS from Mic Drop and the cyphers a little bit. BTS has 3 rappers (known as the rap line) who do hip hop songs just the three of them or as solos. If you like rap I recommend Outro: Tear live at Wembly Stadium with English Subtitles. Run BTS Live at Busan with English Subtitles, Ugh! And Ddang (lyric videos followed by their Explanation videos from. DKDK TV) and the lyric videos for cyphers 1-4. Thanks for checking out BTS
Oh my gosh, soooo much to learn, soooo much to tell! There are ONLY 3 completely ENGLISH BTS songs and those I consider KPOP, however, BTS IS THE GENRE! Such DIVERSE discography, you won’t believe it! Keep going: it’s a mess of a LOOONG RABBIT HOLE to uncover the TRUTH OF BTS! BELOVED YOUNG MEN!
They still do hip hop, they just like to play with a lot of genres and don't care if it fits the "rules" or in a box of what a genre is supposed to be. BTS is basically their own genre. Check out their song "Run BTS" off of the PROOF album The live version and the dance practice (not "RUN" which is also their song but that is their song from 2015- though you should watch that too. ;p) There are three rappers and two of them started in the underground rap scene. RM, their leader and main rapper just released an album, "Indigo" and it has songs that feature Erykah Badu and Anderson Paak. There are also rap-line songs, vocal line songs, sub-unit songs, and solo songs all within the BTS discography. All three rappers also released solo mix-tapes.

As RM mentioned on the Vlive he said that "we sang this song because Armys were telling us that 'so many peoples are talking negative about you and spreading hate to wards you with out any single reason so what shall we do' so then we sang the Mic Drop 'haters gonna hate plays gonna play' and just ignore them"

And also one important thing you should know about BTS's song is every thing is for some thing purpose what i mean is their songs is what they really feel about and the message they wants to tell. They express their true feelings and their message through their music
-the lyrics are raw because most of the time they writes them selves and it may have multi meanings but they may writes for their fans, for their haters, or about some important issues or about them self whatever they feel about any moments, And in their music video (MV) also they use different symbols to express some thing and even in their chirography.

Now you should try a live. They are killer live. They did their last concert for awhile in Busan. They totally killed this song and then went right into Run BTS. It was the debut of Run BTS and the choreography is crazy. Look for the clip of the two Mic Drop + Run BTS. This was the beginning of their concert. Enjoy the ride 😄
Oh yes live is amazing especially with their live band or when they do it live for Award Shows with the extra dance breaks in it.
BTS are always surprising you, you can never pigeon hole them, you would fail. Army's say they are their own genre and it's true. There's a song for everyone and therefore they're never boring! I 2nd the FESTA Live recommendation! Once you've seen that, you should check out one of the songs from it in full.. it's called UGH! and they did it live in Busan last year and the perfomance was so hype!! Rap line only (RM, Suga & JHope). It's not usually my favourite type of song but the meaning behind it and the vibe is sooooo good. (BTW a good channel for watching live stuff is Enjoy BTS More they always have eng subs!

Mic Drop is not just a flex song, it’s their call back to their haters esp during the time when they are starting to be more known internationally. They are an underdog story debuting from a small company with limited resources, performing a genre which is very different from other groups, receiving backlash from lots of people. Them bagging those awards from all their blood, sweat and tears. Their hardwork, commitment and dedication to their craft is what fuel those recognition, and the ARMYs that supports them and never gave up.
Most of their songs discussed more deep topics, even their fun bright songs, have deeper meanings and talk about societal issues. Am I Wrong being one of them, Baepsae, N.O., Spine Breaker, etc.
Suggesting you check out their earlier songs, and see their growth. They are truly amazing, and their lives are always better than the studio versions.

To explain a little bit about the background of Mic Drop, now BTS is the biggest boy band in the world. But they started with a small company that almost went bankrupt, so they have been very looked down and hated by Korean broadcasting stations and other K-pop fandom. So they have struggled from the beginning to prove themselves.
It's a song for their haters. :)
The direction of Mic Drop's lyrics began with the idea of J-Hope, the main dancer and dance leader of BTS.
And 'Mic Drop' at the end of this music video is a performance created by BTS leader RM inspired by Barack Obama's speech. :)
I think their live performance is worth watching. I highly recommend this live. :)

It's not an official MAMA video broadcast on TV, but a full-cam taken by Big Hit. I recommend this because the camera work on official MAMA is so messed up.
In this performance, Mic Drop was their 4th song, so the members were exhausted and held on with their mental strength only. And, there were even three dance breaks at this time.
I can feel all of them Even if I die, I will die on stage. The energy is crazy!

Oh, there is another song BTS worked on with Steve Aoki. The Truth Untold is a unit song by BTS' four vocalists, completely different from Mic Drop. :)

For reference, most of the BTS members were teenagers at that time. It would have been hard to bear at such a young age. But like We On's lyrics, they did it.
And Jump, Cypher 1-4, Daechwita(Agust D 대취타, Suga's solo), Ugh, Interlude : Shadow, DDAENG, Outro : Tear are great too. :)
Especially, I recommend DDAENG as one of BTS' unique songs. It's a unit song of BTS' three rappers.

BTS holds the FESTA period for the first two weeks of June every year, to commemorate their debut date, June 13.
At that time, they hold various events for ARMY, such as releasing free songs as gifts for ARMY or having a talk show that looks back on the past year for about an hour.

If you don't know about their struggles from the beginning they for sure have the right to flex.
They have hundreds of fantastic songs so it is hard to pick. Their B sides are as good or sometimes better than their hits but all and all they have it all. They are great musicians, singers, rappers, dancers, lyricists, producers...... and then some more. They are funny as hell and they are adorable. My kids are their ages and I see them as fantastic young men to look up to.

Hey! you know what, their Yet To Come concert in Busan currently showing at cinema worldwide until tomorrow 4/2/23. In case you wanna experience their concert you can do so. They won't be performing as a group until 2025 due to mandatory military service. I went to watch with my kids on Wednesday and it was awesome.

BTS leader RM did collab with Lil Nas, Seoul Town Road and that's a country song. This song, Mic Drop, is for the haters as you can tell from their lyrics. You really should react to their hard core rap songs and performances like Outro Tear (Wembley Stadium Concert) and Cypher I, II, III & IV. These 3 rappers will surprise you.
Most BTS fans don't like to pigeon hole BTS into 1 genre because they do it all, they still do hip hop and rap heavy songs. BTS have over 300 songs so this is just the tip of the iceberg.
ddaeng by BTS Rap line is another good song.

One is of only rap line, while the other is that of all the members.

There's no end to the amount of genres they did/can do. The point is they never stopped being a hip-hop group, they just kept adding the genres up to the point they've became a genre of their own.

I liked how surprised you were, it happens to us every time. Their talent is limitless. They are fierce, individually and together.

Country is really the only genre you won’t find in korean music. The closest to country I can think of is Mamamoo’s Destiny.

BTS has so many different genres but for sure a lot of rap and hip hop to explore. Start with the earlier tracks to hear more.
I am a child of the 90's and was stuck on 90's rap and alternate until recently.
I discovered BTS exactly when I needed them in my life.
The songs that are just by the rap line RM, J Hope, and Suga.
And the rap line's solo mix tapes go hard.
Three of my faves are "Ddaeng" "Baepsae" and "Outdo Tear"
Cyphers 1-4 are hard as hell too.
But once you go down the BTS Rabbit Hole, you'll end up loving everything.

It's a clapback. They got an absolute ton of hate early on - they were shaking up an industry. It's quite a story... they were rappers becoming idols, but not the way idols were supposed to. They came very close to failing. Tiny example: the black ocean. They performed at an award show and fans of other groups turned off their light sticks and didn't respond. Huge silent crowd.
Anyway they have a few songs aimed at the haters and somehow they're pretty much always still wholesome. Best example is Idol, where the comeback is "you can't stop me loving myself." 🤣
So far you're really good at picking things up! They're very versatile for real, you've barely scratched the surface. Ten years, and all of them have written songs for the group as well as individually. Lots of genre-mixing.
Not everyone likes every song, but I honestly don't think they have bad songs. The quality is there whether or not it's to your taste.
I'd love to see you keep reacting to them mainly because I want you to keep being surprised. It's really fun to see.
You'll get thousands of recommendations, so I'll just say it's okay to follow your curiosity. Lyrics usually matter, and some songs might require a cultural explanation. Some videos are part of a larger storyline, too.
