7:55 BTS has a leader, which is RM(the one who said 'haters gonna hate, players gonna play'). But not the "leader" that you're thinking which get the most screen time, line in songs, face of the group etc. The leader in BTS keeps the group organised, communicate with the company, solves any issues between the members etc. A leader which you can truly look up to lead the best group. An alpha of the pack.
10:12 actually they do a lot of mic drops too especially one of the rappers, Suga who drops his mic every time they perform Mic Drop😂.

I suggest watching intro to bts by Taylor. It's a detailed description of the boys. There is 3 rappers and 4 vocalist. Rm(leader), Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V, and jungkook. also suggest starting from the beginning with No more dreams and following their discography. There is a story line that goes along with the videos know as the BU or bts universe. They have over 300 songs. There is group songs, rap line songs, vocal line songs, duets, and solos. They also release some songs for on SoundCloud for the fans(army). Rm is the leader, he was the one who said haters gonna hate.

Thank you so much for taking time to learn about BTS. Thank you for bringing a friend to show BTS. You and your friend were asking who is their leader. As what the other Armys answered below, their leader is RM (the one who came out of the ambulance) and he, as Armys said, is not the kind of leader you are thinking. Dont get me wrong, but I find it funny that western Media and reactors when they first learn about BTS always ask who is the lead singer or who is the Justine Timberlake? As an added info, the face of the group who happens to be also their main vocalist is Jungkook. But being a main vocalist in BTS has a different connotation from the western lead singer. In the west, when you are the lead singer the media thinks that you are the one who has a star power and ability to have a great solo career. But for BTS, irregardless of their position, all of them have star power. Each member has his own style and vocal tone that is why they blend well together. Each member can be a great solo performer. Being a main vocalist in BTS doesnt mean you get to sing the catchiest lines, or the lines with the highest notes or you always have to stand out each and every song. It means your voice will be woven through out the song. Your voice can be heard front and center as well as in the background. I think before you proceed reacting to their song its better that you watched first the BTS documentary prepared by Taylor. This way you can better appreciate your viewing.

This video was shot in South Korea, and I'm glad you turned on the subtitles. All of them can sing and dance, at least 5 can rap, but the units are 3 rappers, 4 vocalists, There is some green screen, but the explosions and the sets are real.

Kim Namjoon is the leader. His stage name is RM - which used to stand for Rap Monster. RM has a birthday Sept. 12 when he turns 28. RM is not the oldest or the center figure - but he writes songs and lyrics and is a rap king.

RM is the leader so the one that came out the ambulance spitting bars...and he's always at the back because he THINKS he's not a good dance or the worst dancer lol, (which he isnt) but yeah the leader in BTS (not sure ab other groups) doesn't make himself the protagonist. idk how to explain it but there's 3 rappers in the rap-line and the rest are singers, though Jungkook did used to rap also in their older songs. Another thing i love about BTS is that their songs have a story behind them. Most songs here are about love and all that cringe stuff but BTS' songs aren't just about love for other people but love for themselves.. and i love that. they're inspirational if you know what i mean. Genuinely helping people out and spreading the word across to people all over the world. "you can't love or care for anyone else if you don't love yourself first and so its just about loving yourself..." = by Namjoon of BTS, and that is inspirational you know?
BTS helped many people! Including me. They bring so much joy to my life. I am a huge MJ fan and since he passed I was kind of searching for that vibe and here it is times seven. I am a mom, I am 43 and I started university cause of them. I study Asian studies, I study Korean language. I work on myself. My next biggest challenge is to get thin again. I am not myself since birth (seriously like before birth I was like teenager LOL (I was in fact 34 :D) and after birth, breastfeeding, the whole maternity ride without sleep I feel 100 years old. It happened suddenly. My soul is young though and I feel so happy listening to them, my love for music, lyrics, dancing, fashion is satistied with BTS. Plus they are smart, deep and funny. I am inspired every day. :) I will continue to work on myself inspired by their discipline, kindness, work ethic and outlook on life.

They write and produce their own shite (with help of Hybe producers). They are fashionistas (Louis Vitton endorsed). They are handsome guys and the chicks love em. What more do you want from an act?! Plus, as super talented as they are, they are actually better people than they are talented.

Yea, more BTS! I don't think it can be stressed enough just how much vitriol, sabotage, and disrespect they got when they first started out. They had some good allies by their side to keep them from quitting, but it was brutal and the Big Three companies of that time had a vested interest in keeping them off Korean media.

Hello, 70 year old Army here! This is a song to diss their haters. The group leader came out of the ambulance. His name is RM and he is the main rapper. He was the first member of the group. They have Main, Lead, and Sub rappers in that order. The same with the dance line and vocal line of 4. They continuously change positions in a song so nobody is up front all the time.
They have made many, many great MVs in the 9+ years since they debuted and they never disappoint!

Some advice that I gleaned over the past 24 months of watching BTS! ONLY LISTEN to MV/song/whatever WITHOUT ENGLISH SUBTITLES the first time through, that way you can watch/hear/see emotion. THEN put on English subs to see meaning of song! Then LISTEN AGAIN! & AGAIN & well, AGAIN! 😉

No one person is face of BTS. Korean group systems are different than the ones in western. Although there is a leader, every members are the face of BTS. The leader role is a liaison between the company and the members. However when there are interview times, RM (the one came out of an ambulance) will speak. He is the only one who is fluent in English.

Kpop has designations for the artist, broadly 4 vocalist, 3 rapper, but all can do both. Of the vocalist, they are broken down as Main, Lead, and vocalist. Jungkook is the Main, Jimin is lead, and Jin & V are vocalist. They also have dance categories with Jimin and JHope sharing main dancer, and Junkook is lead. RM (came out of the ambulance) is the leader and main rapper. Suga and JHope are lead rappers and Jungkook is a subrapper. And the other have rapped occasionally also. Definitely watch some of the about videos, you will learn their names, their positions, and find out what wonderful individuals they are. They do participate writing most of their music, with Suga and RM writing the most. But all have written songs that they have performed or the group performs. While some of their songs are about love. Many are about what people are facing everyday: mental health, death, prejudice, government letting you down. As you were saying MicDrop was in response to all of their haters, they came from a small company, they bought their own albums, and that they are no good and won't go anywhere.

I think you need a little bit of background on the group. That would really help you with the breakdown of the rappers and singers, who is the leader, who is the visual, the differences of the seven. Also, since you like their dance, you should react to their dance practices at the same time you watch the music videos. It's not an official MAMA video broadcast on TV, but a full-cam taken by Big Hit. I recommend this because the camera work on official MAMA is so messed up.
In this performance, Mic Drop was their 4th song, so the members were exhausted and held on with their mental strength only. And, there were even three dance breaks at this time.
