    Probably my favourite compilation so far! Kudos to +Josh Stacey for putting it together.
    To me Zhang Jike is the most fascinating player. He may not be as consitently strong as Ma Long but he has moments where he ist just out of this world, such as the 2013 (I believe) WTTC Quarterfinal against Boll, two points of which are included here.
    Boll played the best I've ever seen from him but ZJK went completely godmode.
    Nothing comes close to ZJK's acceleration at and above the table. He may not shine as much in the half-distance spin rallyes as some other top players, but to me the game at and above the table is way more impressive.

    One great thing about table tennis is that it doesn't take long to get good enough to have fun and get good and fast rallies going.
    The last time I played my grandma about a year ago we played 5 closely fought first to 21 point sets in 30C heat. Where I had the edge in agility she had me diving everywhere with her precision and control. She's 80 and I'm 30. The last set went to a tiebreaker.

      shantihealer Or - just go and watch the original matches if you don't want any music? I'm not getting rid of the music for a few people who think that their opinion is the only one that matters - over 760 people like it (and over 300,000 people have watched it) and haven't complained. Read my reply to someone else about why I put the music in there - I explain the reasons behind it.

    • @joshstacey8673
      @joshstacey8673  9 років тому +2

      Thanks for the compliment. As far as the music is concerned, this is where I stand.
      A lot of people, like yourself, don't understand other peoples opinions...but usually I will go with the majority opinion, which in this case (including myself), the majority enjoy the music with it as it adds atmosphere and creates a sense of energy. Personally, if you want to just watch the clips on their own with just the ball sound (or the sounds of foreign commentators where I personally cannot understand the language) then you can just go watch the original match, however I would rather add music and help bring out the energy and excitement of the sport.
      You can still hear the sound of the ball, and the commentary can often distract from that anyway, so I feel the music can help cover up the distracting commentary and replace it with something good to listen to. If you don't like the music I chose then I apologize, but a lot of people do. Also, its difficult to find music that will not get the video taken down because f copyright issues. I just feel its a little rude of you to say "The music was awful" and then go on to say you don't understand why people would like it...when clearly 200+ people disagree completely.
      Anyway, I thank you for your comment, however I will continue to use music on the majority of my videos for the above reason.

    Someone asked me once, is it a low contact sport? I said yes it can be but in doubles you could possibly run into your less experienced partner. How do you define that, I asked? Even though it's not a frequent occurrence, it happens from time to time, generally w/o injury.
    Frequent contact with ball at extremely rapid speeds, yes. In that sense it's a high contact sport. One that is galvanizing and intense to watch and great to play.
    Go Table Tennis (PingPong) !

      You think this is sped up? Clearly shows how much you know about the game....
      There is no speeding up of any footage in this video. Fact. Show me a clip where it is sped up and compare it to the original.
      Dont make comments like that without evidence. Learn the speed of the sport before making such a statement.

    • @whatscreenname
      @whatscreenname 9 років тому

      Josh Stacey Not all of them but a lot are. Looks like most in the first 3 min. Ex...0:23 Ma Long vs Ryu is clearly sped up. 1:33 Mizutani vs Dima. If you are not convinced look at 1:10 Ryu vs Ma Long. This one is BADLY sped up. Does all that look natural to you? If you are still not convinced I WILL take the time to pull one clip from another vid and compare to this one to show you the difference.

    • @joshstacey8673
      @joshstacey8673  9 років тому

      whatscreenname I have no idea what you are on about. ALL of the footage is taken from the original match. You clearly, as previously stated, dont understand the mechanics of top level table tennis if you think that is sped up. Ryu is known as having the fastest feet in the game, and Ma being one of the most powerful players and fastest loopers. That clip, and all of the others, are NOT sped up. I was at the World Championships in Tokyo this year and I personally watched the Mizutani match vs Dimi. That match is NOT sped up. Have you ever watched live table tennis at this level? Trust me. It is all natural.

      Dave Roberts Because it's a montage and the music helps build up the excitement of the points. For me it adds that extra bit of energy to the video! Also because it can distract from some of the loud commentary on the clips.
