Even for the recognition it gets, table tennis is so underrated at least by most sports fans in general. I mean I get that there is stamina and all that involved in things like basketball but being able to stand so far away and have a little tiny ball speed at you and be expected to hit it perfectly with a paddle just over the net is extremely impressive.
In my opinion, table tennis is the most complex sport in the world because to be a top 10 player in the world the following requirements are necessary: 1 - reasoning of a chess player 2 - explosion of a 100m runner 3 - endurance of a half marathon runner 4 - reflex of a boxer 5 - accuracy of a bow and arrow shooter. Only that.
It's so amazing that both players are seeking for opportunity to fight back while they are defending. Kind like fencing, the tiniest mistake could cause huge problem on the whole round, or even match. I believe that's why so many people loves table tennis!

This is what it should have been to make it funnier: A reporter asks a new Chinese World Cup champion “ Now you finally won the World Cup, what is your next goal? “ The athlete replies: “ to win the Chinese national championships “.
this is why olympics format is really dumb. See the top comment under this video about this - ua-cam.com/video/a0nc8QEwQac/v-deo.html thanks to stupid ITTF rules. We want to see the best athletes to compete in the Olympics regardless of their nationality. That's the spirit of the Olympics. The ITTF shamelessly attempts to change the outcome of the Olympics games in the name of generating more interest in table-tennis if the Chinese don't win. Under this kind of rule, even when a non-Chinese athlete wins in the Olympics, it's still a cheap win. Medals matter, but setting up rules in such a way that a top 3 world player might not even make it in the Olympics is just pure stupidity.
@Legends reneverdie Did you even read the discussion under that comment? If only Chinese players win, so what? That just means that the rest of the world needs to catch up and improve to the Chinese level. Do you think Chinese people got bored of and stopped watching the track events like 100m because they never had a chance at it because it was consistently dominated by african athletes? no. They trained, improved, and now there are more asian athletes starting to catch up in those events, like Liu Xiang in hurdles and some asian sprinters. People don't just watch a sport because of what nationality the player is from; they watch it to see the best play in the game from the players. So if it somehow bothers you that table tennis is often dominated by Chinese players, then don't watch it. But many people, unlike you, have no problem with that. If you watch table tennis only for the point of seeing your nation's players win, then there's no point in watching the game at all. A sport being dominated by one country just does not mean that the sport will be killed. Other people will still watch it, and other players will continue to improve. And a sport where the best players don't win is hardly a sport at all. Specifically, with the olympics is about sportsmanship, which means that the best player should win. It's absurd to limit players by nationality in the way ITTF has done, as many of the best players don't even have a chance. Finally, your point about the sport being killed is completely wrong. The Chinese have dominated the olympics for the last 20 or so years, but the sport has not died or lost interest from non-Chinese viewers in any way.
@@x0cx102 and even with that gold and silver still went to the chinese. Quite difficult to change the outcome when you are dealing with WR 1 and the GOAT of the sport XD

Not sure it is. So many points are over very quickly and there's a build up to each play that takes a while. I guess tennis is similar in that regard but it's easier to follow the play of the ball.
I’m a former table tennis player and man… this sport isn’t merely about the technique, agility and capabilities. They are the aspects that contribute to your victory, but the real difficulty at least for me was always the ability to remain calm and focused on what is going on during the action. You must be entirely attentive and unstressed during the game. I had a number of psychologists to adjust me to that state, but due to the stress that this sport would always give me I gave up on it. I now admire people who are able to be so psychologically stable that they keep playing this game.
I wonder if it would be a lil bit better if you see TT as a game rather than a match/contest/competition...... Just relax and enjoy this marvelous game.

@@PechPongTT Dima vs ML Olympic 2021 semifinals almost killed me XD
3:17 that was the classiest thing I saw in a while in sports. Hands down, M. Groth!
I feel like Tabletennis is sadly very underrated in many countries its such an intense and interesting sport 😕
Imo it's the fastest and most skilful sport that there is.
it's the most watched game in China and china has the largest population, so it's just need the other parts of the world to catch up. btw ive noticed in 2020 tokyo olympic there's more and more challenge to chinese team and more nationalities competing, it is definitely getting more popular everyday. personally i like it cuz it looks cool and fast like anime fights lol
Not sure it is. So many points are over very quickly and there's a build up to each play that takes a while. I guess tennis is similar in that regard but it's easier to follow the play of the ball.
乒乓球在中国不算太大众化,羽毛球比乒乓球的玩家更多,毕竟不需要桌子
I don't even feel worthy to be watching this...
Some of the slices on these shots... 😯
And chef's kiss!
very nice compalation...i could watch this whole day...keep going
The last video with XU XIN, that's a national game :)

what a ice upload! thank you! enjoyed a lot
This is so true. Glad that you mentioned it. 😊
I wonder if it would be a lil bit better if you see TT as a game rather than a match/contest/competition...... Just relax and enjoy this marvelous game.
Same thing with tennis. I believe Djokovic's mental strength is second to none.
@@BrandespadaNope, Djokovic's good no doubt. But the pace of table tennis is much faster. Players can't afford losing their composure or attention for half a minute. Plus there's no medical timeouts and all shit tricks lol
1:54 great battle, fun to watch.
And the one at the end just is unbelievable...
The second to last one just warms my heart.
4:06 - That expression on his face:
- Wow, dude, how did you do that? 🤣
Number 1 is incredible!!!! 👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@4:01 I love this man for his sportsmanship
Finally, YT recommended me something that I managed to watch the entire video.
unbelievable how intense a table tennis game could be 🏓😵
Just mind blowing.
Every single point was insane but number one did deserve that spot.
Table tennis is the fastest, most skillful ball game by a mile.
Badminton smash is faster.
The performance of Xu Xin is amazing.
World's fastest game- table tennis. Players are marvellous and fantastic, terrific speed and top class coordination. Eye popping perfection and execution.
Superb compilation!
А что делать, сидим на карантине смотрим красивые видео.

You’rejustafreaklikeme it’s a joke, ok? 😂
You’rejustafreaklikeme ok sorry for ruining your day nerd. Just because a joke isn’t factual doesn’t mean it isn’t funny
@You’rejustafreaklikemesprinting tennis basketball MMA. They're all Asian sports my guy. The best in each might not be asian but the asians are among the best in each.

You’rejustafreaklikeme ok,if ur not goot at any sports then who is it for u to judge asian athletes who aren’t ‘world class’
Endless hours of training and amazing skills. Very nice vid. Tyvm!
When you see 0:12 point first, and then directly after that jump to 6:01 point, the level difference between the caliber of these points just will knock you off.
