    To avoid forearm pump you need a resting sling. Dont hang on your via feratta kit, but bring along a 1/2m climbing sling with a carabiner on it. When you need a rest keep your via feratta kit attached and use the sling and clip it to a step or pigs tail on the rock face. You can then put your weight on that and hang on it to rest your arms and legs. Just dont use it when actually climbing as you dont want to fall on a sling

      You can even attach the sling to the Bandfalldämpfer (via ferrata kit?) to mitigate the risk of falling into the undampened sling. This can also help in vertical sections where you otherwise wouldn't want to attach a static sling at all.

    • @casselskeep
      @casselskeep 18 днів тому

      Can you use a static line on the wire rope bridge?

    • @tastytechaddictsmtb
      @tastytechaddictsmtb 18 днів тому

      @@casselskeep you could do, but it’s not ideal. You aren’t falling from above the anchor so it’s not going to snap the sling, but it’ll be a pretty rough stop compared to the screamer on a via Ferrara set stopping you slowly. The resting static sling should really only be used for resting or hanging on. You can technically use it on traverses and bridges, as long as it’s short, but you don’t want to be falling at all where it’s slack and suddenly going tight when you fall or it’s going to hurt.

      @@tastytechaddictsmtb thanks. I had heard that the wire had enough flex to absorb the impact in that particular scenario. I thought it would reduce the risk of deploying your ferrata set unnecessarily. That's my biggest concern with via ferrata, that once you have had a fall you are completely exposed!

    A life line helped me a lot in this via ferrata. I def needed some rests in the overhang parts. Also I made it less pumpy by putting my arm in the steps while clipping. Well doing it without that! One of the better via ferratas I did. So beautiful with the waterfall. Thanks for making the video so i can relive it hehe.

    where is your chestpiece and rest-loop? This must been super exhausting without a chance to rest, there's loads of pigtails.

    Nice footage. You should bring a personal anchor so you can easily hang from it to rest up and enjoy the views.

      Funny enough I actually had a sling and a carabineer attached to me just in case I needed a rest (I also bought a lanyard after this trip 😅)
      Thanks for watching!

    Those bridges are terryfing brrrrrr. One thing, clip carabiners to highest line on the bridges. In case of fall it can be very difficult to come back while You're clipped to side line. Also can consider katrollen and some short sling to hang under highest line and just slide ;) Here some nice advices for crossing bridges. ua-cam.com/video/tAFF9onbGqg/v-deo.html

    Great video Cris. Such a beautiful place, and interesting how contained the via ferrara is (ie, trails everywhere for viewing and within one small area).
    I’m curious…what did you carry in your backpack on this climb? I can only assume it was safety gear in the event of something unexpected happening, as well as water. Thanks for posting!

    Hey, why that title, you did it and had fun, well, except the mosquitoes. :)
    But resting sling would come in handy in such difficult ferratas.

    As someone that lifts weights a lot everything you said about your forearms makes complete sense. I’ve put them into spasm on several occasions gripping too hard whilst doing pulling movements. Good job nonetheless, I could never do that 😂

    • @TraintoSummit

      @@netshutup2339 I don't remember exactly, section 2 is the longest and hardest (due to the duration and constant overhangs). Section 3 was the shortest.
