This particular performance is Perfection...it cannot be topped, his voice which is called a Whisky tenor is amazingly powerful and this as you can see from the set list was near the end of the concert , so a good hour of singing already...

This masterpiece was good in 1967, as was Gary's voice. But this completed the masterpiece with this performance, and Gary's voice at 61 in this show, was better than at 22. Yes he is gone, but he will never be forgotten as long as this anthem is played.

This Song defined what the 1960's was all about. It came out a couple of years before my birth but my uncle was a massive music fan and he loved this song and always talked about what this song meant to him, it was the song played at both his wedding in 1982 and at his funeral in 2006.The 1960s was a wonderful decade of music from the Beatles, the Stones, Motown, the Doors, etc etc etc but this song is the defining song of the decade in my opinion and sung so beautifully by Gary Brooker RIP

I'm 67 years old and have loved this song since it was first released. I was lucky enough to see them live a number of times over the decades. The last time was unexpected. My girlfriend of the time worked for a corporation with front row seats at a somewhat close venue. She told me she had tickets to see Jethro Tull for the next weekend. I didn't ask who would open for them and only found out once at the venue and halfway to our seats when I heard a couple telling their son who looked about 12 years old how he would love Procol Harum. As much as I love Tull I was more than twice as excited to have the chance to see Procol Harum again. That was in 1993 and Gary Brooker still sounded as good as he did when the song was first released, and still sounded fantastic in 2006. He was an incredibly talented man.

What a pleasure experiencing this through your eyes and ears - it's the closest thing to being able to hear it for the first time after all these years. You are a beautiful soul and I appreciate your open-hearted reaction, and I just subscribed :) Keep up the great work!

      Vidstorage,
You must get their second and third albums. "Shine On Brightly" and "A Salty Dog". You will love them the way you love "A Whiter Shade Of Pale." ❤️

I remember hearing this when it came out in '67. Definitely the right year for it to aborn. Gary was only 22 years old then. Now we're all dying. 😢

Likely the most beautiful reaction I have ever witnessed. I could see how you were moved as I was moved by this band for years. Tears as I write this.
