I hate when guitar solos sound great in the song arrangement but fall kind of flat one they're own. I really loose motivation to learn it, since I don't have a band to play with
I agree. But, at least you can try to do (learn how to do) a better solo than the original (based on the best parts of the original). Most of the acdc solos have this problem, but you can learn a lot trying to improve them.
in my view, some singers can sing all the right notes, but lack the performance chops or 'soul' when delivering the vocal...it appears that way in this case...the notes are all there, but the performance without the backing track is lacking any vibe or feel...good player, maybe not his best style
It's not that hard actually. I play Violin, and when you learn a song, its 1,2,3, sometimes 4 pages of music and it's all individual notes. I could fairly easily play dozens of songs by memory. Yes I might drop a note or make a mistake, but once you practice a song enough times, you hear the next note and it becomes muscle memory and you can remember 95% of it even going years without practice. Then it just takes hearing the song or working through it a few times to recall the details or transitions you don't quite recall
YEAH!!! FREEBIRD!!!! Holding a lighter as I yell "FREEBIRD" LOL But seriously I would love a lesson on Freebird. It would probably be 15 videos though. That song has a lot of different guitar parts and the solo alone would be a monumental undertaking. But I am up for it. Even if I can't play it in it's entirety it's something to shoot for.
Awesome Lesson Carl.. Thanks I would like Freebird like some of the others.. Allayer lessons are great I look forward to them coming out. Thanks again.
Suppose to play this song tomorrow and wanted to see the solo lesson. Watched everything on youtube. Cannot understand at all that measure that sounds like tapping with the pinky finger. And every video wondering why no one plays it keeping the finger down on the G string while tapping the rest. I've been looking at it for an hour and just can't get it to sound right when I play it
Okay I've been playing guitar for a little over 3 months and can play a pretty good bit of songs and their solos but my fingers just aren't fast enough and my question is, How do I build up speed? This effects me a lot because I like many songs with solos such as this one and I'm restricted to only learning the rhythm part. Please Help!
OK, I learned how to play a pinched harmonic now. Thanks to your video. However, I have no sustain and the note does not hold. Can you tell me what to do there?

I was just thinking the same thing.

Check out Sean Boothe’s cover of the solo... sounds like Carl is just skimming over the dynamics and tone here
Get a loop pedal
how in the world do you remember so many solos? amazing!

You Are the Best teacher
Good stuff. Maybe a little mention of the scales and keys this solo is in?
@@legendfpv It's mainly in E minor Pentatonic in the key of G major.
it's and awesome lesson and really helped! u teach songs super well! i wouldn't know that many songs if you didn't teach them lol thanks again!
Greetings from Central America! Guatemala city.
That's really good. Still suffering to pick up speed and precision but that helps a lot man. Keep up.

this is awesome man , what gauge strings are you using? thanks for breaking it down
Please please please do a few cold chisel songs. I'd be over the moon if you can do that.
Another great lesson
Great lesson. If I can keep up with this I'm sure I can with Free Bird as well.
Dude yeah free bird is way easier now I’m learning this
@@rzazos8 meant to say easier than you think
Does Ed chase the chords in the solo? I’m curious to know what is his main target arranged around, G major scale maybe?
Am I the only one who loves reading the description for each song in the description box?
yep ur the only one

+BamaBeast16 practice scales over & over & over, slowly at first, then building up speed
.
excellent video, thanks
My apologizes if I'm wrong and I'm not trying to be a smart*** but did you say 12 to 10 about the 8:30 mark? Isn't it supposed to be 10 to 12?
Gil Correro Oh I am sure it probably is. I misspeak all the time. Just do as I play and not as I say. Haha..
What effects are you using to get that ultra high sound when bending the A note (fret 2 no the G string) at the first of this lesson?
H.D. Gresham That is called a pinch harmonic. I have an entire lesson on how to do it here ua-cam.com/video/EopxzIU1POQ/v-deo.html :)
