The Rock Orchestra performs Buffalo Springfield's 'For What It's Worth'

TRO presents their version of Buffalo Springfield's 'For What It's Worth'. In light of recent protests and the general climate of the US in 2020, this song (written by Stephen Stills in 1966) still resonates 54 years later and when considering video projects, was a song we kept coming back to us. Written during the climate of Vietnam and racial injustices, we again find ourselves speaking up an...

Fantastic cover. When I close my eyes, it's totally Peter singing. At least in the 1st track ❤ Wonderful singer !
ok that rocked my world!😇
Well done guys, excellent effort
This masterpiece will live forever... thank you for keeping it on and greatings from Italy ! 🤩
I’m there!!!
Fantastic job on a GREAT song! Nailed it!
Absolutely great.....grettings from Rio de Janeiro/Brazil
Wow!
Wow, you did the impossible! What a marvellous gem!
The motliest crew, but damn these folks can play!
This is really excellent.
Not what I expected and am wonderfully surprised!! I’m jealous. Did as long as I’ve okayed, I’ve rarely had the opportunity to play Genesis tunes.
Very enjoyable! I'm a huge fan of Genesis in all their various phases. Hearing this again reminds me of how brilliant this album is. Nice job by these musicians. Thank you!
I'm not a musician, but here's my opinion. We've all listened to Genesis play their incredibly complex, wonderful music seamlessly for decades. I think we take for granted how difficult it is to pull off these songs with their complex rhythms and timing. I give this band credit for an enjoyable performance that has their own "take" on the music and doesn't sound like they are trying to "mimic" or copy the original.
Bravissimi
dubs
very nice, well done
Done a great job of that
Great job! Looking forward to Saturday for the Bowie show. We really enjoyed "All Together Now"!
Very very good!!!
thank you for doing this❣❣❣
I would drive 2 states away to see this concert
I can only imagine what rehearsals were like. It’s not exactly bar band material. Lol. I particularly like the lead singer. The trench coat is a nice touch too. 🤘😳🤘
We usually do 8 or so rehearsals for each of our shows. I think we did 10-12 rehearsals for this one. It definitely took a bit more than usual!
@@tro-live3629 Well, all the hard work paid off. It sounds great! Giving the Musical Box a run for their money. Good stuff.
Excellent musical performance. Why is the crowd so loud? People are so rude. At least mic them down some.
As a fan I really don't like the drummer at 16:40 ! Don't play the cymbals like that or just for fun but not copy paste and so not close to the originals (sometimes it's better or not and here :() Some missing bass lines in "in the cage" too it's always good to make some covers but to be close to the original is a very hard work with their genius so I am disappointed with this performance as a musician (drummer+guitarist) because I know all their work very well and a cover must be equal or superior (with a good taste) but never different if it's not a good taste
So sorry we’ve disappointed you. We’ll do better next time just to make you happy with us. That’s the whole reason we do this. For your enjoyment only. Nothing else matters. Just your opinion alone. We were wondering all this time when you were going to weigh in. We’re so ashamed of ourselves.
I didn't now steve martin sang genesis!!! 😮
Joe is one "wild and crazy guy"! ;-) Surprised he didn't cop a "King Tut" pose during Fly On a Windshield (which Mike R says started as "Pharoahs going down the Nile")
😂😂😂
So good!! Bravo to you all !!
Damn good. REALLY nailed it. Especially the drum sound.... in awe. So well done!!! ( Guess you could take it down one or two semi-tones to help the lead singer from straining to reach the highest notes... same problem Phil had. )
Wish I could be there!

Great job! As a keyboard player, I know how hard this material is, especially the opening of the Lamb and the solo in In The Cage. Everyone on that stage is a great player.
thank you! Definitely the most challenging show I have performed - and loved every minute of it!
Great performance, very talented band. Mix is weird. Guitar and keys are lost at times, vocal is too out front. Hopefully live it was fuller and more balanced.
Love it, exceptional performance
Great, guys!😉
great Job guys! sound amazing
Wow... I really liked this band... you are beasts....
Not exaggerating... eyes welling with tears during Silent Sorrow.
I saw the Musical Box perform The Lamb twice. The first time I was blown away but the second time was lacking the energy of the first. They do good job of reproducing the live show with all the added visuals: the costumes, the slides, plus the occasional commentary. But I enjoy the video of this show even more and I can see the joy in your faces while playing it. You guys do a fantastic job of reproducing the album. The vocals are richer, and Jil, the percussionist, added so much to the performance. I hadn't realized how much additional percussion is on this album and she nailed it all. At first I thought it might be odd hearing two female vocalists instead of Phil but I didn't miss him one bit. In fact, They improved the way the backup vocals sounded live. I downloaded this show to my phone and its rare that I go more than 2 weeks without hearing it. If I have to drive late at night and get sleepy I sing along with the performance at the top of my lungs to keep me awake, so in a way this performance has saved my life a few times Thank you so much for taking the time to learn to play all of this terrific album!
Thank you so much! So glad you are enjoying our performance. It's a special album and it was a bucket list item for us to tackle it. To know that it brings such joy to others is a humbling honor.
Do A Farewell to Kings next.
Like others, I clicked and didn’t expect to stay long. And here I am nearly 2 hours later. Awesome 👏👏👏👏👏
I've been an avid fan of Genesis for 50 years. Exceptional performance by exceptional musicians. The Lamb is one of my favourite Genesis projects and the courage by these musicians to attempt and pull off this tribute with such aplomb is to be commended. Loved their discipline.
bro the pianist was awful
But still, the piano player can't keep up with the melody, and Trainor falsifies it just a bit. :)
I can learn the bass lesson the TLLDoB album clearly from this performance.
Etant très très fan de ce groupe genesis j'ai aussi vue steve hackett qui rejouait avec son nouveau groupe tous les succès du groupe je vous dit bravo.j adore
My Favorite album of all time! Excellent rendition!...glad I discovered you guys.
Excelente Cover gracias por compartirlo. Saludos desde Venezuela.Excellent Cover thanks for sharing. Greetings from Venezuela
Good job. I am unaware of any quality video recording of Genesis performing this live. I saw them in Chicago, must have been in 73, or whenever this tour was. I have been a fan since Trespass. Like all things, there is a season.
'Fly On a Windshield' is grand and so is Lily-white Lilith' (a one w/ some amazing subtle harmonic movements, like the chorus and the descending line from add9 to Maj7(no third) to sus2 to sus11....or 7:55 -that ominous/dark groove and chord progression that reappears later on 'Lilly white Lillth' (Phantasmagoria sets up @ 47:45 and the aforementioned part enters @ 48: 02 ).
I saw Genesis perform this back in 1975 in a spectacular show that ended with a bang (literally), and I have longed to see a live performance of it ever since. I guess this is as good as it gets these days. Impressive and very daring!
Fantastic ! People do perhaps not recognize how extremly difficult it is to play these songs, especially the timing; and you did it with a certain ease and freshness
Bravo, merci
