Hi my mother is obsessed with you guys and she really wants a pair of Sarah's boots, any chance I can get the make so I can get a pair for her birthday please 🙏
Where you forage is so beautiful. Red is a fab colour, I'd like a red car! Your DIY skills are so admirable! My dad was like you Willie, could fix anything.
Somehow missed this episode first time around so felt like an extra treat. You are both so suited for life on Skye as you are so resourceful. That wild garlic looked so beautiful - and plentiful. The boat looks fabulous!
Loved all of that, the boat looks great in red, and as for the planters maybe white would go green in the wet damp atmosphere...Jack surprised us all by jumping straight over the planter, twice too..
Absolutely love the red color y’all choose for the boat. The windows look super duper as well. Nicely done! The natural landscape of the bush there is just beautiful. Despite the dismal weather at times, it is a truly beautiful place you’ve decided to live. Walking amid the lush forest, nearly every frame of your video was so picturesque. I can’t wait to see what springtime and summer adventures await! I’m hopeful there’ll be some metal detecting and mudlarking on your recently acquired permissions as the weather continues to improve; and maybe there’ll be some opportunities for beach walks on some little islands around the area for beach combing, too, putting the boat to good use on some remote marine outcrops not accessible by other means. Wherever your adventures take us, I can’t wait to see how your story unfolds. Thank you for taking us all along with you ❤
You two are always there for each other even though the task may not be your most favorite thing to do......that's what love is. I 've often wondered what it would be like to live in a semi isolated rural setting....you two are so brave.
Your boat looks really sharp. good choice on the color. love you guys. Watching is my relaxing time. also makes me smile. I do miss Dirty Secrets of Scotland. I used to go find treasures many years ago. I miss that too. Thanks for making me smile....
Sarah, I just received a beautiful bday gift from my mum of the Skye Life Cottage painting ! Was such a buzz getting one of your pieces as a gift, I’m such a fan of you guys and your art. I love it so much and it will be hung in my kitchen for all to see 😍
I think red was a great choice! My husband retired from the US Coast Guard, flew a lot of searches looking for boats/ships that were in distress and had been called into the USCG Base. We lived on the island of Kodiak, Alaska for 4yrs. Lots of salmon fishing, crabbing, lots of eagles, Kodiak bears. We loved it!
I think red was a great choice for the boat and the new windows look fantastic! Those raised beds are lovely but I would put a few drill holes in the bottom for the water to drain. Jack can certainly clear those raised beds. Nori Happy 6 months did you get a nice bone? Another beautiful video Sarah and Willy. Have a lovely week till the next one.
I pick wild garlic for our pork pie business, down in North Norfolk. One of our neighbours run a wild flower reserve in a wood, with a chalk stream running through. Perfect wild garlic habitat. They’ve very kindly given me permission to pick over at least the last decade, so like you I’m really careful to pick “my” patch sustainably so that there’s plenty when I come back next year.
Top tip! In addition to getting a compost bin (we make black gold too) in the Autumn and after a storm, go and fill a few feed bags with sea weed and top dress the beds with about 2" and leave all winter. It will take a while to rot down but our raised beds veg love it and its free!
What a lot of time and effort you two put into producing a outstanding weekly vlog. The timelapse pictures of Nori growing, alone takes ages to produce Understand the need for the red boat paint, Orange would have been my preference. Planters could be painted with the St Andrew's cross Scotland flags, only an idea. Keep filming busy bees 🐝
Another lovely video from Skye! As you were building the planters my eye was drawn to watching the sheep in the field across from your cottage. Thank you so much for your videos- I so enjoy them. A Gram from MO.
Wow, your boat looks utterly amazing, fabulous job Willie and Sarah! i love your wonderful planters too, you are both so very industrious, I love it, and you and the wee doggies!❤🌻❤xxxx
I found it grows in the eastern and southern U.S. and Ontario Canada. We are not suppose to harvest or sell it. Its called Ramps (Allium Tricoccum) here. the native Americans and Appalachian people use it for medicine. You may not wanted this info, but its just FYI. You guys are just the sweetest couple.
Well done once again to you both on working on your boat. Love the red, good colour for safety reasons as well as pretty. The planters will be great too when you’re finished and have food growing. Who knew Jack was such an athlete, leaping over the planters, well done to him too. Happy 1/2year to Nori. 🎂
Good idea to mke a start on your own compost bin. I recommend filling one up this year and leaving it over the Winter til next Spring, then buy a second one to start filling up while you use up the compost next year, that way you've always got a pile to use while another batch is making. 🙂
The boat looks lovely with the coat of red, you both do such an amazing job with your D.I.Y projects. Nori has grown so quickly and I can't believe he is 6 months old already. I love how Jack just jumps over the planter. Even though you probably already do or think of these things here are some ideas you may both like. Dry the garlic leaves in the dehydrater and turn into powder to use all year round. Rub some vaseline on the rubber seals around the windows of the boat to help stop them from cracking in future and maybe Sarah might like to paint some of her beautiful art on the planter boxes. Love watching your channel and can't wait to see the next one.
I would paint the garden growing boxes black. It would match the roof and black will help absorb the sun to keep the soil warm for growing. Your boat is coming along great. Good luck this season on catching all the yummy things.
Great planter but don't forget drain holes also put some small rocks on the bottom to help with drainage before adding soil/compost. These planters will be much easier on your backs than ground raised beds. Maybe just seal the wood inside and outside rather than painting any color. Any marigolds to deter pests?
The boat is looking very sharp and being able to see out the windows is safer as well ...great job on the planters/hurdles...I didn't know his name was Jack Mick fly...happy 6 months Nori ...Karl from eastern Canada
I didn't know wild garlic liked to grow in such wet conditions. I'm glad to see you and Sarah are so conscious about not taking too much, but very good conservationists. Lovely to be so close to such a beautiful area. Thanks for sharing.
You have done a wonderful job on the boat and a red cabin is very sensable for being seen at sea if you should be unfortunate to get in to difficulties. Love to see you foraging but disappointed I have to wait till next week to see what ou make. Thanks for another lovely Sunday early evening of good old fashioned entertainment. Happy 6 month little Nori, not so little now.xx and love to Jack and all of you. Good old Richard lending you his tools.
Nori is SOOO cute he's a lovely little dog who has grown so much, love him. Not forgetting that other really handsome Jack Spaniels. The boat looks very smart indeed, a great job well done Willie and Sarah.
Hi Will, Sarah and the dogs. My partner Hannah and me together with our mad Wire Haired Dachschund have been watching you for a while now and absolutely love your videos and chats. Just wanted to thank whoever posted "Caamp" song "No Sleep" on your recent post.. always great to be introduced to a fantastic laid back band. Hope life is wonderful up there and you are battened down for the tourist onslaught. We'll be up in Ardnamurchan in August, can't wait. David & Hannah, and Peanut the Dachs!
Rather than a single compost bin or heap consider having 2-3 that you can rotate. When turning a standard heap to aerate it, be aware that standing on it might cause your wellies to melt from the heat that builds up inside and don't be too surprised if that heat also makes it a popular hibernation spot for garden critters like hedgehogs and toads
Fantastic work both of you! Those windows on the boat are so neatly done, and the paintwork. The planters look amazing too. Nori has such appealing eyes!!
I think the wild garlic your foraging for is what we in the Appalachian area of the southeast US call Ramps. They are absolutely wonderful in spring. We harvest only leaves to so there will more next spring.
Good afternoon Sarah and Willie always work to do boat looks good to go but the planters are going to look fantastic not sure if your doing veggies or flowers do both with the sun it will be a success keep the boys out take care 😘🌸🌿🌺🐶🐕🦺🌻🌹🍅🥒🫑🚤
Get yourself a good head torch. Ridgemonkey do really good ones for fishing. Also have a option in then to turn the light green so the dreaded bugs stay away😊
Busy times for you two as usual. Happy for spring and a return to your foraging outings. Looking forward to seeing what veg you grow. I’m making my plans here but planting is a few weeks off yet.
Great job on the boat and building the new boxes. Consider staining the outside of the boxes to match your other building.and provide protection. Have a good week, goodbye from Canada.
Wow.😮👏lots of work been done very well, and the weather has been great too lol 😜 😊, I like the red, would vote for yellow but it’s really pretty as it is just now. Good job with the planters too, see you next week 🌸🤗
You really are an industrious pair...so much energy...ah!...to be young again...love your home building you make such a good job of whatever you turn your hand to...thanks for the heads-up for what is to be revealed next week...red is such a good choice...big hugs to the pups😁🌠

Boat looks great, good choice on the red. The raised planter is awesome, the four will be wonderful for growing. Thanks Willie, Sarah and the boys!
Spoiler Alert!!!
No surprise now!
Somehow missed this episode first time around so felt like an extra treat. You are both so suited for life on Skye as you are so resourceful. That wild garlic looked so beautiful - and plentiful. The boat looks fabulous!

The boat looks brilliant and so does the planters
Hi y’all!! Happy 6th month birthday Nory. Love the red contrast on the boat. Can almost smell the wild garlic!!!
What a dynamic couple. Your DIY (do it yourself) attitude to overcome challenges and make items you want is outstanding. Loved Jack the hurdler.

Nori got a trip to the amazing beaches of the Outer Hebrides. And a biscuit of course!
