Good morning, Linda! Such a relaxing video. Your stepdaughter sounds like such a sweet soul. I am a retired nurse and started my career in pediatrics. I was usually fortunate enough to have any special needs children that were admitted assigned to me, because everyone knew how much I loved them. They have such big hearts and so much love to give. ❤❤❤
These kids are special people. After 25 years i do sometimes forget what warmth and simple love they bring to a family
The small pumpkins above the doorway bring back memories of autumn at the Cape🫶🏻🍁
Linda, this video really reminds me of how much I love the seasons, especially fall!
I'm so glad!
Those little pumpkins add so much. NEVER too much ocd
I'm just catching up on your channel after a busy few weeks. Your content is always so fun and informative! I really appreciate how caring your are with Emma, and that you find a way to include her in some of your videos while maintaining her privacy. As a retired special educator, I have a big soft spot for our loved ones with special needs, so I'm always delighted to hear about her! Happy Fall! Now, I'm off to view some more videos. :)
Love your video your step daughter is so sweet have a great week
My husband and I just returned from a trip through New England to see Fall foliage. We started in Boston and traveled through Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and ended in Maine. We LOVED New England. Not only were we treated to the most amazing Fall colors, but all the flowers we still blooming and they were stunning. I have never seen hydrangeas as beautiful in my life. I’m from South Carolina and ours are not half as lovely as yours. It must be the cooler temps. We loved all the quaint New England towns and saw so many wonder places. We visited a farm in New Hampshire and had cider and those amazing doughnuts. I also noticed that New Englanders certainly know how to decorate for Autumn. I came home with so many memories and inspiration. We really enjoyed our 8 days of New England fine living.
I like to collect shiny acorns and put them in a hurricane vase for an great autumn look. They look lovely as a white candle 'base'
I think a bookshelf in a guest room is such a welcoming idea! I was always told that it's not the number of acorns that fall but the number of acorns that the squirrels hide away that is a prediction of the severity of the coming winter!
That makes sense! Smart Squirrels
Aww, you have the "FRIENDLY VILLAGE" dishes! My mother had the set back in the 1960's, and now I have them. 😊❤ They are my Winter plate set.
I found winter the other day. Mine have a fall theme and I have not found any more. Do you know if Friendly Village did all four seasons?
Never thought about pumpkins over the door, such a nice touch 😊
My mom did that at our house ever since I was a child until the day she forgot to take them down in time and they rotted and she said never again. I couldn’t wait to do it in my home. 🤣
I love seeing Willow in her favorite spot by the window. 🧡 When I put something together, thinking it might look good and it doesn't...I say to myself, 'it's not speaking to me!' And off it goes. 👉👉 And I like that word ''Falloween'' I'm going to used that word too, Thanks Linda! 🍁
Hi, Linda! Enjoying my coffee in a ceramic leaf mug while watching. Sorting books-groan. We did our library overhaul, and it took 2 weeks. Keep, think about, donate, give to friends, and have to glance through everything. Thank goodness, we could close the door! Your autumn decorating looks wonderful. Happy October, and pats for Willow. Thanks for the tour! 🌻
Going through dishes, at 64 time to down size so I do not have to dust so much!!!
Lovely Linda🎃🎃🎃I love The pumpkins above the doorway. There isn’t anything more adorably New England! Your library looks amazing!🧡🧡🧡
I love the time you spent with your step daughter finding donuts and pumpkins
I love your front walkway...So inviting!
Thank you! 🤗
So glad I found you 🎉. A woman after my own heart. Love your work ❤
Don’t worry, you have many sisters of ocd, including me. Without us the world would be so crooked. We perform a service! lol enjoy your beautiful fall home. Signed, a former. Ew Englander, now in Florida.❤️
"We perform a service" LOL. I love that!
I don’t call it OCD Linda, I call it visual acuity! Love the refurbish of book shelves!❤🍂🍁
Hi Linda, I aleays enjoy your blog . We are kindred spirits and your program helps me relax. I am so happy your step-daughter was shopping with you. My brother has the same condition as Emma. You could not ask for a sweeter man than him. Thank you.❤
I also love your channel and I look forward to your next video. I live a little over an hour from you and the fall weather has been perfect. Put on your head gear for falling acorns!!
Lovely Willow, the star in many frames!…thank you for my weekly dose of New England!
Love my Saturday mornings with you! Your videos and music are so relaxing! Thank you, Linda❤️
A lovely, relaxing video as usual. Your voice is so calming! All looks great. Can’t wait to see as you progress.😊
Thank you so much! Your video is so relaxing and inspiring.
oh gosh, frogs! I've been startled so many times by them. I'd rather have snakes because they don't jump at you. You are always inspiring. Thanks
Good morning Linda, from a rainy afternoon here in Ireland, my favourite time of Sunday coffee and a video from you.❤
Opening shot out the door is glorious! Looks like a painting! 🖌️
Linda, thank you for this great video. Your home and garden are beautiful. You always have great ideas and a talent to make the ordinary extraordinary. You put me in the mood for autumn. God bless your "kindred spirit". Robert.
Thank you Robert!
Thank you for inspiring me to be creative in my home once again. You have a wonderful style! Take care
I'm so glad you are finding a little inspiration!
Linda you are my inspiration ❤. Greetings from Germany ❤️
Wow, thank you!
Hi Linda, your library looks amazing. I love how you added the little pumpkins above your door, such a fun touch, and the grapevine beneath your pumpkins, too. As always, the music accompanies your video beautifully. Have a great week ahead! ❤🍁🐿️
P.S. Mr. Frog 🐸 made me laugh! 🤭
Yes, Mr. Frog - I often have to postpone planter maintenance because of (unexpected) “temporary tenants” whom I don’t want to disturb. 👍 And, yes, sometimes it’s after they’ve startled me ! LOL🐸🦎
Thank you Liz! I hope you are feeling better!!!!!!!!
Linda, I love your channel. Your house is beautiful. Regarding your library take those dust jackets off of those books. They look nicer in my opinion.
So funny you said that. I had just put many of the dust jackets back on and I did not like it! LOL. You will see the grouping of green books are all jacket free. Some with the jackets have very bright colors, which surprised me.
So nice that you and Emma enjoy shopping together, bravo! Love how you did the door basket. Looking forward to more.
Very festive and colorful. 👍🏻
Totally understand family time! Love the decorations and the books.
Just want to say I love all of your posts, your home is lovely and Willow is adorable!
What an awesome sky and autumn landscape in your beginning of video!
It's always nice to take your time when you redecorate or reorganize. Sometimes, people hurry through things because they have another job that they have to . then things get disheveled and completely out of sync. I always say that decorating or redecorating is a process that takes time and patience.
Enjoy time well spent!!❤❤
I agree! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Your library looks just beautiful. I love the little porcelain figurines mixed with the metal pieces on the shelfs. I too organize my books by subject. This past weeks I've been going through the ones I really don't use that often anymore. I'm so glad you chose to go with your family and enjoy the evening Linda. Time goes really fast and these precious little moments are the ones we will always treasure. Thank you for another lovely video!
Thank you so much!
Hello Linda.. Enjoyed this video..I love everything about Fall 🍁 and all the beautiful colors that come along with it.. Willow is so precious and I always love to see her.. Can't wait to see your fall decorations through out your home .. Always a inspiration..As always Linda thank you for all you do.. Until next time..🍁..
I loveee your library everything about it
Peaceful, calm, inspiring, knowledgeable, passionate with her hobbies, etc. are just some of the words to describe you, Linda. Thank you for sharing everything with us!!
Wow, thank you so much!
We have tons of acorns falling from our trees as well. The squirrels are happy! 🐿
Thank you Linda. Just what I needed on another glorious Fall Sunday in Northern Ontario, Canada - where we also enjoy Mother Nature's annual explosion of colour (Muskoka district).
Thank you Linda for a wonderful video, I look forward to Sunday mornings watching you and getting inspired to do some of the things you teach us for my home. Happy October from Kansas
That was lovely thank you for sharing.🥰🥰💕🎃🎃
I love the way you are decorating for Fall! Those little pumpkins in front of the bullseye glass are just the perfect touch! I hope you had a wonderful evening by the fire with your family!! I always look so forward to your videos!
While we e love spending time with you, we love it even more that you make spending time with family your priority!
Thank you 😊
Your decorating is amazing. Love how you sorted the bookshelves xx
Thank you!! 😊
Ahhhhh, the atmosphere! It is like I am transported into calmness. Thank you, Linda!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I agree Linda, my oak tree is producing tons of acorns this year, and I've not seen this many before ; I live in NJ. It is so loud outside at night with the crickets chirping, it is amazing.
Ha! I knew you were going to move the little pumpkins over the door. So sweet to see snippets of Emma. Looks like a fun girl time outing. I don't have peonies and have never seen their seed pods. Thanks for sharing that. They remind me of star anise. We've had lots of rain here, thanks to Hellene. Looking forward to pretty weather this week.
Good afternoon Linda, hope your having a beautiful day!
Thank you! Same to you!
Your little pumpkins over the door are classic there. Love the dried hydrangea.
Where I live, there's no sign of Fall whatsoever so I loved experiencing through your video, the wonderful hint of New England Fall with you today. I enjoyed it, as usual.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Books are my nemesis! I have so many and struggle to get rid of any. Seeing your shelves after removing books has given me the inspiration/push I need to start again!
I love this fall/ thanksgiving decor no like for anything Halloween. Love the wee ones coming to my door but because I find Halloween very dark I’ll carry/promote the thanksgiving thankful positive theme. Thankful for you and your beautiful talent that you share so beautifully.
Yes, Linda
The nuts trees are crazy this year in CT too. Definitely harsh winter this year. Nature’s way to take care of the animals.
You have an absolutely beautiful home!!!❤
Thank you so much!
Frogs are a sign of a healthy ecosystem so that’s excellent. We just found a baby turtle in our front garden.
You gotta do the square/block off technique you used outside. I’m living that technique as I go through things to let some things go.
Go enjoy your husband and stepdaughter and the beautiful fall evening and thank you for sharing your life with us.
Great video - love your fall touches library & stamper. That would be a nice touch for your box offers that contain a book you select. 💕
I love the color of your library built ins! It’s so soft and calming to look at. Your Fall decorating is lovely. The basket on the door looks so nice….i really like those doors on your home. Your home is like a beautiful New England getaway. The
Scenery outside your front door is beautiful….thank you for another lovely video Linda.🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Thank you so much!
Love all of your videos! Fall is my favorite Season, so I really enjoyed your decorating and projects this week. Those little pumpkins above the door are sooooo cute!
You just inspire me so much to get more creative in my decorating!
Very nice watching you in the garden, it is beautiful! It brings back pleasant memories when I was younger working in the garden. My husband and I are in our 80’s now and even at our condo we have flowers in front, on deck and at patio on our walk out level. We will be married 68 years in October and have enjoyed gardening all these years. I look forward to your videos, thanks for sharing! Carole❤️
Early happy anniversary!
Always love your stories and videos. Thank you
Thank you for watching!
Love apple cider donuts! Looks lovely.🧡🍂🐕🐾🤎
You found some beautiful produce especially those tomatoes! 🍅 You’re such an inspiration to me. I have my pumpkins out and I have a wreath that’s just about ready to hang on the door.
Very lovely Autumn video Linda, I just love all your colours, hope you enjoyed your family time!…🍁🍁
Yes, thank you 😊
Thank you I loved it too
Lovely video. Happy Sunday from my area of Missouri. Visiting New England is definitely on my bucket list of travels one day. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home, and ideas for decorating for Fall. Have a wonderful week. 🌻🍁🎃🌼🌾🧡🤎
Linda , when there are massive amount of acorns from an oak it’s called a “mast” year for the tree . We have one over our pool …it had a mast year in 2020 and this year . We call them “ kamikaze acorns “ !!!! 🌻🍁🌻♥️
I love your videos Linda! It’s a dream of mine to live in New England! I am living vicariously through you. 🍁🍁🍂🤎❤️😊
Library, autumn decorated basket, all look great. Glad I haven't finished cutting off the dried Lazy Susans. Watch the fabric furniture. When my grand-kitty visited, 5 torn chairs and a sofa.
My daughter is having a scratching post sent to our home before they arrive LOL. I had cats my whole life, but have not had a cat for about 12 years. "It is going to be fun" she said. LOL
Your fall decorations look so pretty. I cut some seed pods from my lillies that I need to use in an arrangement. I love your shelves!! I want to paint something green. 😉 I have a pewter soup tureen that looks like your pewter piece. 😊 Enjoy your family and the glorious fall weather.
Hello Linda. I enjoyed the video 😊. This is crazy but, the top you have on was in my dream last night. I was wearing it but it was a dress 😳. Same colors and print. And I’ve never seen that top before 😂. So crazy!! Hope you’re having a nice day! 🧡🕊️
So cool!
That sky and trees would make a lovely picture. Yes I've heard that an abundance of acorns means a bad winter😢
Thanks, Linda!
Another lovely video, thank you! It will be 90 degrees today in Southern California so I am enjoying fall vicariously through you lol. I wonder if you are having a ‘mast’ year with your oak trees? Also, your step daughter seems so sweet - and I love the little frog peeking out through the flowers!
Thanks for a wonderful video and cute items.
A large number of acorns is an old sign of a harsh winter. Hope just snow and no ice please. Ha.
The donuts and pie look tasty. Your bookshelves look great. 😊🙏😊🍁🍂
I have been enjoying many of your videos after finding your site a couple of weeks ago. Living in Nashua I have travelled many times to Milford and Hollis during the seasons to the farmstands. They are great for fruits, vegetables and flowers. Lull’s has the best apple pie anywhere.. Now I have to find some apple cider donuts. 😊 So glad I found your site.
Spray hairspray on your hydrangeas will help a lot!
Always a joy, Linda 🎃
Very nice day.beautiful view of nature.
Enjoying your video this morning. As an fyi Yankee Magazine has a recipe for Cider donut muffins that taste just like the donuts. Yes, we have tons of acorns this year and like you I think it is an omen of a possible severe winter. I have an apple cake in the oven and it smells wonderful. Texting from the quiet corner of north east ct. happy fall.
Thank you for letting us all know about the cider donut muffins! Yankee Magazine's home office is just two towns over from us and I drive by often. I will have to look up the recipe!
Old wives tale about acorns and severe winter…..they can’t forecast weather any better than we can. I had my first Apple cider donut when I bought apples at Bartlett’s Farm in Lenox MA when driven back to Florida three weeks ago. I had never known about them before watching your channel. I don’t remember them being a’thing’ when I lived in RI. BTW-The donut, coffee, and apples were excellent.
Thanks for sharing and I’m glad you enjoyed your donut!
We live in the woods in western NY where we have a plethora of oak and shaggy bark hickory trees. This year the acorns and hickory nuts are so plentiful that if you are working outside a hard hat might be a good idea!!!. Our stone wall is covered with them and they are being harvested by our resident furry critters.
Lovely video as usual. Wish we could’ve seen some of the Octoberfest, but do respect the privacy you want to have with your family. Hope it was a wonderful time for you ❤
Thank you for understanding. I did try, but there were so many people, especially children and I wanted to respect their privacy too since we went in the daylight. I have shared past years when we went during the dark.
Hi there, my husband and I discovered your channel this week. Then i realized I had been following you on IG. I remember some photos posted from your Groton home ❤️ I used to pass it often on my way to work. Love your videos you have inspired me to decorate for fall, dry some of my hydrangeas and enjoy the simple things in life this fall 🍁
Hi Kelly! I'm so glad you found me here too!
I am so glad I found your channel! I am from Connecticut and love your content. Thank you!!
Welcome and thank you for watching!
Your garden entrance vine archway needs a tall shepard's black iron hook with a colonial hammered copper lantern on it and bittersweet or corn stalk leaves for decor. You could put a remote control candle in it...or have a permanent gaslight candle flame lantern there and by your brick patio! A witch could be put in your cutdown bushes area with a large black kettle...add a gurgling sound and dry ice steams when its Halloween party cocktails time!
Love your videos Linda. You freaked me out...never pick up a pumpkin by it's stem. It could break and that's what makes the pumpkin. Lol. 😂 I could smell those donuts... isn't it a beautiful and delicious time of year. 😋🤗🍂🍁
LOL, I always grab the stem, especially at the nursery to see how sturdy it is. I am going to jinx myself, but I don't remember ever having a stem break off and I am a stem grabber! LOL
Hi Linda on this last Sunday of September !! It would take me hours to go through the books because I would need to flip through each one! lol! Nice Fall day spent with your stepdaughter, I bet she enjoy it too! The arrangement you made for the basket is pretty! Have a super week. Friend! Paula from Indiana
I had fun sitting each night and flipped through the books to confirm my decision. I kept many lol
@@newenglandfineliving LOL , I would too !
Well now I’m craving apple cider donuts and I don’t have any!
uh oh sorry! LOL. I do sell them in my online store. The recipe calls for baking vs frying and they are so good.
@@newenglandfineliving I went the easy route. Made a trip to Trader Joe’s and got their apple cider donuts. They are delicious. I have a pan for bake donuts
so when I’m not busy with lifeI will order your donut mix.
Hi Linda,I am so particular about the shape of the stems, shape of the pumpkins I buy. And I had to hold my breath, when I saw you pick up your large Pumpkins,by the stem! If that stem breaks off, can’t enjoy it as much 🥰 Thank you for another Sunday relaxing video. Farmers Almanac ,are saying extremely cold Winter for Minnesota. Last year was so mild,we didn’t even have snow on the ground all Winter. Record Winter for no snow, higher temperatures last year.
Several others felt the same way lol. My pumpkins need to know I mean business. 🤣
Linda, haven't you mentioned that your step daughter is special needs ? I only ask because so is my 14 year old son, and I always find that even simple little outings bring so much unexpected joy. The things they notice and appreciate is beyond what I can notice and appreciate, and it truly is the simple things that are the best. 🎃
Hi, yes she is. She is 25 and some of the things she says when it is just the two of us girls is hysterical!
@@newenglandfineliving ...love it !
Hi Linda, whenever I watch your videos I crave a cup of coffee! Sometimes I rewatch them late at night when I can't sleep...hahaha! I re-watched some of your videos from last year, you have lost weight and look great! I love the green/gray color of your library cabinets, can you please remind me of that color.
Hi Thank you, The colors are listed on a link at the top of my Website NewEnglandFineLiving.com
We have 8 oak trees in our yard. During fall we call it the hard hat area. Also sometimes it’s like walking on BB’s.
I would love to be able to collect acorns!!
My Oak trees produce acorns in abundance in a cyclic pattern. I will have so many acorns on my trees for a couple of years, and then they will produce sparcely for two or three years. Thank goodness my deer and squirrels love the nuts and clean them up.
