An interesting over view. I have just purchased the Mavic Classic. I cannot seem to activate the focus peaking function which is insightful for seeing focused areas in the video while shooting.

Yes, I was able to recording in 4K, and I consider myself to be a noob.
I have two great quotes, one for the M3 and one for the M3 Classic ($450 apart) would you stretch for the M3 for the Telephoto Lens or is it not worth it in your experience with the drone? Also, as it’s pretty old, is there a replacement on the horizon?
I wouldn't consider the M3 old, look how long the M2 was around. DJI don't update the flagship drones as often as the smaller ones. Unless you need the zoom, I would go for classic and buy more batteries

It’s always a good idea to have a cheaper alternative espcially for the Mavic 3. More can enjoy DJI’s flagship capabilities with the Mavic 3 Classic!
mine is ordered will be here in 2 days March 2023. I still have my Air 2s as backup, I didn't bother with the controller as I already own the RC Pro roll on Monday.
The 2Pro image still looks good in my opinion.

I really enjoy your channel. I know the P4P is ancient, but I use it primarily for real estate photography. While the P4P was state of the art in DJI's prosumer line when it was originally introduced, obstacle avoidance was in its infancy, so consequently most of my flying is manual. The automated shots certainly look impressive, but what happens when you try executing at lower altitudes and you have things like telephone poles or lights? Did you have any experience with the M3C's obstical avoidance under more challenging conditions?

Guess it’s time to retire the Mavic 2 Pro. On to something new and better especially with its price.
Fine intention but to compare, the images really need to be shown a bit longer and from the same angles. Now it's a bit of a bucket full of video and photo and you can't compare because by then the next scene is already on screen. Is not to sound off but are facts.

@@seachris If you have the Mavic 3 already, there is no reason to switch to the Classic.
You need RC Pro for 1080/60 fps. The cheap RC will only get 1080/30 fps
Just. Ought the Mavic 3 classic is as an upgrade from my Mavic 1. No way would I have bought the Mavic 3 with the zoom, the price was way too high, this drone however ticks all the boxes! If your wondering whether to get one, just do it.

Why is everyone comparing the Mavic 3 Classic to the 4 year old Mavic 2 Pro, instead of the Mavic 3. By stripping out the 7x telephoto camera, you only save $450 new, and only $150 over a Refurbished Mavic 3 for $1750! By the time you add a $650 Mavic 3 FlyMore Kit and an RC from $300 to $1200 more, you are into this for $2500-3400 and you could have added the 7x telephoto for $150 to $450 more! Penny wise and Pound foolish! It is less than 5%-7% of the total! Mavic 3 just received a FW update today adding all the "new Classic" features to it! Don't be fooled into buying this because it is better! The Classic is the Mavic 3 without a 7x telephoto camera, without a gimbal lock, and with a crappy, cheaper jockstrap that doesn’t protect the drone as well. You get what you pay for!
If yo add the fly more kit to the Mavic 3, then the price goes up as well. Apples to apples, you're still saving a few hundred dollars.
Tele lens didn’t matter to me. I have what I want for less money.
