I drive school busses here in Florida and this man did no wrong he did everything right to prevent a life ending tragedy. You can fix bent metal and replace busted glass but you can never replace the smile of an innocent little child. The fog and his load were the only factors involved and he was doing it right. Honorable man and the hand of God helped him through it as well.
Absolute legend sir! What an amazing man. May he be blessed richly. The fact his 1st question was about the kids tells alot about the kind of man he is.😇
tearing up just hearing the compassion in his voice.... he's someone you want to do business with... I have a feeling the insurance wouldn't care about the miss... prob deny the claim or something... but, at least the kids are ok :)
Glad everyone was ok he had two choices 1 kill people 2 or take his life and crash into a ditch I chooses 2 but he didn’t die tho but glad everyone was alright
Exactly what I tried to explain to people when they complained about that guys sentence in the Colorado wreck and made him the victim. Nobody mentioned the run away ramps he passed, or the fact he could of ditched it before he ruined innocent lives.
That's what you call a hero. The children always come 1st always if you had the lay your life down for the children. Then that's what you dude especially if you're a man.
Horrible title on this video. Most people would see that "Ola man sacrifices himself" means that he died trying to save those kids. But he was barely hurt. That reporter (and the person who uploads your videos) needs to learn how to report better. Do better without deceiving the public.
He got a muscle spasm in his back, gears slipped, air brakes were shot to hell. There was nothing he could do. Some guys can drink and drive, some can't. What is drunk? LOL
Abba Father God is so good! PRAISE YA THE LORD! GREAT AND POWERFUL FATHER GOD Philippians 4:20 “Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Psalm 121 1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalms 150:6 “Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalms 106:48 “Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalm 145:1-21 1 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. 2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. 3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. 4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. 5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. 6 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness. 7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. 8 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. 9 The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. 10 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee. 11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power; 12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom. 13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations. 14 The Lord upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. 15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. 16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. 17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. 18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. 19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. 20 The Lord preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. 21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever. Philippians 2:9-11 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Isaiah 25:1-12 1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. 2 For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built. 3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee. 4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. 5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low. 6 And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. 7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. 8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. 9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. 10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the Lord rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill. 11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands. 12 And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust. Revelation 7:11-12 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
If he was really driving slow he would have been able to just stop. If ditching it was your only option to avoid hitting something you couldn't see through the fog you are going faster then the distance you can see where you can stop by.
You try driving an 18 wheeler, with 80,000lbs of logs on the back. See if you are able to stop in time. It’s just like a mini train. The truck would have been able to stop, about a 1/4 mile after he hit the bus. It’s one thing to keep a distance from the vehicle your following behind, and even go slow in the fog. However, if the bus had crossed to block the oncoming lane, no driver would have been able to see that until the body of the bus came into view. Most cars would have been able to stop on time, with the assistance of slamming the antilock brakes. An 18-wheeler would not. This is why blocking the road with the bus, to stop people passing, is not a good idea. An 18-wheeler, depending on conditions, might not be able to stop. If the driver didn’t do what this guy did in the story, the results could have been, catastrophically devastating.
@@jayasmrmore3687 any speed, especially if the truck is on a downward incline, which appeared to be the case in this instance. You can’t go too slow, otherwise people with nuts for brains will try and illegally pass you, creating an even more dangerous situation. So I’d say the truck would have been going at least 20 under.
God bless that man. What a heroic act.
Beautiful, very proud to see a southern man hang it all up trying to not get nobody killed. Outstanding sir, thank you.
this is what real men do. Good job sir you have my highest level of respect. God bless you and i hope life treats you kindly.
Yes, unlike the Truck driver in Ohio who was screaming in his cab while putting everyone in danger.

I bet insurance did not pay a dime. He out it in the ditch on purpose. He said so himself.... atleast I bet they tried this logic.
What about people who jumped on 9/11 and their life insurance policy wasn't old enough?
Thanks man ! Hero
unwritten rule for every real truck driver. you die before an innocent.
Not a requirement, this guy was selfless
