In this video The Crystal Collector will show you how to collect the fluorescent mineral sodalite aka: Yooperlites from the Great Lakes region of Michigan, Lake Superior.. These rocks have a natural glow to them called fluorescence when a longwave UV light is shined on them.
What looks to be magic is just science, the electrons are excited and causes the rocks to glow a bright orange color. You will see how to spot one of these beautiful rocks along the beach at Crisp Point Lighthouse, a new location!
Thanks for watching!

Awesome finds Bryan. We didn't get a chance to make it up this year. We went geode hunting at Jacobs..Thank you for showing the world our beautiful state. Just a reminder for people there is a 25 lb limit on public land.
Oh I can’t! I’m sorry.. cool rocks and nice video bro!🎉
Hi Bryan - This video was outstanding! The preview video didn’t do justice to this full one. I can’t believe the size of the rocks you found. And so super saturated on both sides. I especially loved the one with all the pinks and other unusual colors. 🧡💛💜💚💙❤️💗 Question: Why were you using two flashlights?
Hi I’m the one family who met you at the rock shop in Moab
@@tysonmagleby3 oh cool. Great to meet y’all! 🙏💎💎💎
Matrix is so cute. He looks so proud of himself once he finds a way up. He just prances around all proud of himself.
Never really thought about glow rocks being a thing but it makes so much sense! New favorite thing unlocked
They are so much fun to find, just wild when you see one glowing!
I've never seen someone have so much fun doing something where you never know what your gonna find. Natures wonderland!
Yeah, these are some of my favorite things to collect, as you’re walking down the beach you might not see one for a while and then all the sudden they pop out and are so bright. It’s lots of fun.!
@@TheCrystalCollector Yes, it's how the heart sings! My best to Matrix!
Petualangan berburu Batu dimalam hari mendapatkan Batu super keren sekali sobatku
I'm in Heaven when I'm at crisp point and the two hearted river!
No need to drive to the UP of Michigan to find these not plentiful but can easily be found along Lake Michigan beaches
The UP in fall is the absolute best time to go, imo. 🍁🍂💜💜💜
That pooch is living his best life
These rocks are amazing. I can think of so many ways to use these. Home decorating, landscaping, aquarium, etc. I’ve got to get me some of these!!
I would love to know your ideas! I was thinking of a UV lamp filled with rocks! I think it would make a beautiful light in a darkened room.
I LOVE that you share your locations!
I’m just a baby when it comes to “rock hounding “ so I cherish every pebble I find.
I’m in Oregon and now one shares their locations here.
I had the best time with Michelle and Melissa and family looking for yooperlites. I can hardly wait to go back! Great finds Bryan!❤
Those are so awesome. The big one was amazing!
Those are amazing yooperlites and in many different colours. What awesome finds and fun looking for them to. Matrix is funny trying to Scrabble up the sand.
Thank you Bryan,
Yes, I have never seen so many different colors like this night, thanks so much for watching!
Thats an interesting rock to look for. Cool!

The UP is Beautiful. I was there once in 1976 for 4th of July. We drank all the beer in Saint Ignace. Good times!
Sounds like some fun times for sure!
That's so cool 😉✅
I really like your videos nice job
I’m done working weekends finally 👍🏽 but I’m always busy out rockhounding when you upload now 😂 I found TOO MUCH BARITE yesterday. Yooperlites are so cool! Such a fun way to hunt. Rock on Bryan! 💎👀💪🏼
Wow! Yooperlite hunting is amazing! And you found some seriously epic ones! Great hunt!
Yeah, if you ever get the chance, try it out! It’s one of the most fun rock collecting things that I’ve ever done! And thanks for being a member 🙏💎💜💎💎 working on a private video today for the membership club

Awesome mural. ❤
HOLY WHA EH! Wow....what BEAUTIES! And what is the purple one?? Yooperlite Express.....and that agate? OMG...drool, drool..
Those Yoops are amazing I've never seen one that size before. Thanks for the great video as always Bryan!
Yeah, that’s the biggest I’ve ever found, but I’ve seen pictures of some really large ones!!
Some nice video and rocks, thanks for posting this footage. I go frequently up to the UP hunting florescent sodalite rocks. Been to several locations from the Porkies to the shores of Keweenaw Peninsula and eastward as far as Whitefish Point and Brimley, and lots of spots in between.
Es una preciosidad y parece increíble!!! Gracias!!!!
We tried YOOPER Lite Rock hunting on our trip up there. No luck! But had fun trying. I think having good quality UV flashlights make a difference. We had really low end. It was all we could find. I now have a really good UV light and can’t wait to get back up that way to try again.
Yes, I would suggest getting the hundred dollar lights, it makes a huge huge difference! And you really wanna go right after a good storm so that the beach is fresh
Those are neat.
Its very nice 😍😍
That would be beautiful made into a ring. It would glow at night. How amazing!
What a cool channel love it. Just subbed up.
Soooooo cool,
Nice! ❤
Wow! Those rock are so beautiful. I'm in California. I'll need to head for a beach soon. Thanks for sharing your video. Looking forward to your next one.
Stay safe on your travels.
Moonstone beach in Cambria is beautiful for rock hunting in Cali ❤

That was a cold night by the way you were dressed Bryan but what a great one for collecting lol. I like the hello and orange one but the pink and blue are my favourites though the unusual one you found is a close second. Its amazing how like the normal rocks the look until the UV light hits them, I would have loved doing that when I was young but watching you and Matrix gives me great joy and seeing the results of what you find makes me feel great wonder and appreciation of this wonderful earth we live on. Good luck and happy fossicking my friends God bless you and Matrix love and hugs Mary-Ellen UK
Yes, it was pretty cold, I had on lots of layers, even matrix head on double layers! But with all the layers we were in good shape, and the water was still only about 60°, so it wasn’t too bad. Found a lot of neat varieties at this location, I’ve never been to this location before and it was a 30 mile drive on the dirt road, it really took a long time to get there but worth it!! Always great to hear from you 🙌💜💎🙏
@@TheCrystalCollector Its been wonderful to hear from you too sweetheart. XOXOXO
THANK YOU!
Wow, looks like there is a dense laer of magnetite on the bank there at the beginning! Those colors are so cool! Blue and purple, pink and red, and then the brilliant goldish yellow!
Looked a little chilly out there Bryan lol! Love glowing rocks! That purple pink one has got to be my fav, not to take away from the yoopers, but it stands out to me. Like I said in the clubhouse, you ever make it to Canada, have I got a place for you! Loving the paint job on the new rig too!
Yes that purple one was a super cool piece. For sure, can’t wait to get back to Canada! Stay on me, I’m forgetful sometimes 😅
100% want to hang out and go dig with ya!
Wow those are beautiful rocks with the light shining on them. Hopefully matrix didn't get his feet wet. He's such a cutie 💓
Yes they are so much fun to find! Matrix stayed dry and warm, it was a cold night yes !
How interesting! I think I have had one for a long time and didn't know it I will have to get a UV light and know for sure.
Happy Halloween the crystal collector
lake superior is a really interesting place, not only can you find agates there, but yooperlites and also if you take the time to process the black sand, theres gold in it.
thank you B&M for another aWeSoMe❣️ adventure
8:00 🤯
Thanks for the crystal it was Blythe’s favorite thing from Halloween!
Oh my I really like the multi colored one.
Crisp point is a treat for anybody who makes the drive. Not many people make it out there so it's pretty unspoiled!
Matrix boy! 😆💎🔥
So cool. My location is Springfield Mo
Hello from Virginia 👍🥶
Hey 👋
That pink one was very cool. Did you find a new crystal? A "Bryanite"? Lol
😂 yea! Bryanite 😂🙌🙏
You lead me straight to amethyst! In my own yard! In lovettsville VA! In no where's ville
WHAT!?OMG TREASURES!
Try sawing a few of the yooperlites in half to show us whats inside. Very interesting rocks. 👌
Buenas noches felicitaciones por todo su trabajo bonito videos con sus cristales mas unos colores hermosos Q tenga éxito 🍗🐕🚐💍💎
Killer thumbnail !! I wonder if Matrix can smell Wolfdog at all these different places we both visit. He's prob like "sniff sniff, bruh, Jim &;izzy have been here" .
😂 probably so, matrix sure does like sniffing where other dogs have been that’s for certain, 😆
❤ I have two Gargoyles carved from Yooperlite. ❤
Wao très joli 👍👍👍👍👍💚💚💚💚💚💚👊
Whaaaaaaat!!!!!!!!!
I'm saving up for my sliding camper for my pickup so I can come looking for crystals with you 👍💥
That would be a great set up for your truck!
If you'd showed us this space view of the QUARTZ LOCATIONS..IT WOULD LOOK SO EXCELLENT...
MAYBE YOU COULD INCLUDE THIS NEW CRYSTAL COLLECTOR TECHNIQUE
Yes I’ll have to do that!
I had a dream of a cave that had this 2 foot tall 1 foot wide glowing stone embedded in a stone slab " table" in the center...it was so beautiful, I could see facets running all throughout the beautiful golden glowing pillar. Ever since I've been hoping to one day find it.
Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Sounds delightful!
It's a dream...😅
We were just in the UP - so pristine up there💙 Didn’t get to do any rock hunting.. but I do know an amazing off grid spot near Munsing right on the lake..I’ll have to take a UV light to next time I’m up there. Funny I’m from MI & never heard of a yooperlite. Did you find any petosky?
Question?? Do you use a normal UV flashlight? I got to Duluth often and rock hunt. Beautiful area you found!
Is that pattern all the way through?..like if you cut it in half its also on the inside? thx. great vid.
You are so lucky to live in a place like this 💖 in the 🇬🇧 there is nothing like this, not even the sunset
Y’all have the worlds best fluorite though 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Great I never knew that!!
Was the pink one reacting to the uv light?
Looked like it was. And even more than the Yooperlite.
You ever get skunked and find no yooperlites on some trips? Plus how long were you out there looking about hour? Also the ones that are not orange are those yooperlites as well? I think the yooperlites are just orange? Any other good locations? I tried looking in upper Mi and had no luck so I'm glad at least its possible to find some here. Petoskey are those possible to find there to in that area by the lighthouse?
Can this be found on the Canadian side as well. Would love to have a few for my collection
What town in the UPS are you finding these rocks?? I have been looking for weeks and having no luck I must be in the wrong areas. please help me with a location where I might find a rock
So what do you recommend for a beginner tool wise?
Dogs can see Ultra Violet light, so Matrix would've been able to see the glow of a Yooperlite during the day.
Have you found out what the pink, red and purplish glowing rocks are? I had a few of them this past weekend.
Tengo 2 vota fuego d noche es increíble …
Is it hard/recommended to turn them? Thanx!
I love the quality of your shots, what camera are you using ??
Which UV flashlight do you use ? The C8 convoy?
Im going to see if i can buy some these online, and make a floating shelf for them. I mean they look like ordinary but still pleasing to look at beach rocks, so with the lights on it'd still be nice.
Ebay
Make sure that you check the regulations especially if you’re in state and federal property. I haven’t been to the UP but I’ve seen certain areas have a limit to how many rocks you can collect believe it or not.
What's the cheapest UV light I can buy to make them light up? I just bought my fiancee 20 of them and need to buy a UV light too. I need help pls?
We’re do you purchase your Uv long and short wave flashlights
🎉🎉❤❤🎉
If you are interested in purchasing rocks and crystals and you are in fort Lauderdale you can go to Christopher's Rock shop and they will give you any rock that you want
What flashlight are you using?
What kind of light do you use
I live in Marquette michigan and I know all the good spots in this area.
Sweeeeeet 🙌💎💎💎💎💎💎
