A particular types of gypsum called Selenite, should be on this list. I don’t wana ruin the surprise for you, so just look up Mexico’s giant crystal cave and be astonished.
Thank you for this huge volume of information about each Gem type, composition and origins. Fascinating. Isn't Mother Earth clever! We humans need to be more appreciative about the privilege of living here.
I just learned of it last week. Wish I could show you pictures of some I came across! However, remember it's a volcanic glass. So it will scratch and chip easily. Not ideal for a ring. Beautiful for a pendant ❤
@@C.O.G.OMG! Thank you so much for putting the time stamp in your reply! Hugs & kisses to you ~ you saved me SO MUCH TIME! So again, Thank you!! That amethyst really was vibrating! Nothing around it was tho... strange!?!
I'm digging the information literally and figuratively. Thank you for teaching me more about rocks in 20 minutes than I ever learned in 12 years from school. I appreciate it considering I live by the rock river in rock county.. lol
Amazing video.. Very informative and some great clips and pictures of the minerals.. Great job. -----But! it is so hard to just name 15.. I would love to see Petrified wood, Malachite, Sepatrium, Opals, Aqua Marine, And Quartz/Smokey Quartz!!! Come on.. lets be real. Some of the coolest specimens we've ever seen have been quartz! What other rocks and minerals would you all like to see?
So did anybody notice the amethysts cluster vibrate to the point of shaking then stops then starts shaking again yet none of the other ones moved at all so am eye thyst crazy or what
Researching for myself and my grandchildren. Thank you for the awesome information and guidance. Your video has helped me extremely to build a new hobby and a new common interest with my grandchildren. Increasing our connection. I can't keep up with all the new bells and whistles. But rocks can help anyone hang out. After all, rocks are history. they aren't new. And can't really be lied about. Well, not if we teach research everything you are told. Thank you for your help, folks. Thank you very very much!!! I hope you make another video !!!
Green is common in nature, blue is not. So, when choosing a secondary mineral of copper carbonate, they chose the more rare, beautiful azurite. Malachite has enough press already as it is.
I remember having a good sized piece of iron pyrite back when I was in sixth grade. No idea where that rock is since it has been since 1985 when I was 11.
Thank you ~ these really are the coolest rocks ever! Many I have seen, but not like specimens you showed us!! I also like knowing where they have been found. This was like a super-fun ride, for me!
So in Montana/Wyoming we have the Yellowstone colldeera. Wouldn't it be an honest hypothesis that her lava tubes would contain diamonds, gold, among other things?

A great video! But so many very extreme minerals are not described! I have been grinding minerals myself for over 30 years and became aware of the Sugelight because of back pain. He helped me with the process of processing pain. As luck would have it, my brother and a friend imported sugelite from South Africa. So I first started cutting Sugelite over 30 years ago. I have found pieces THANKS to dear and warm South Africans to cut pieces with Rhodochrosite, to cut Top Richterite/Sugehlite that weigh 1.80kg and more. I would also like to mention the clinochlore from Lake Baikal, which I ground in top quality pieces weighing over 30kg, which Russians bought back. And at the moment I'm finishing the 58kg rain obsidian from California, which actually belongs in a museum. Thanks for the good video, although there are many other minerals in there that would never be mentioned. The Mother Earth on which you are allowed to BE is a "casket" which we as profit-oriented entities will NEVER understand, understand and, above all, control! I have a chunk of peacock vanadium which is one of the most beautiful stones I've ever seen. It came from Uravan, Co. It cannot be made into jewellery though, because it is highly radioactive. I therefore keep it in a solid led tube, and only take it out on rare occasions to gaze upon it. For a very short time, obviously
Rocks are awesome things in The nature, definietely i like rocks what are on The beaches near of The seas, rivers or lakes. I would like to try found a cave and discover a rare rock, purple IS My favourite color so i Want found a purple colored rock. Cooliest rock i've ever founded IS a rock what Looks like a Heart. That video was awesome and so interesting. ⛰️💎
Hey have you ever heard of purpurite? It is shiny and purple 💜 honeycomb ruby is man made but it's a vivid fuchsia color and glows crazy under uv light. I've also seen some aura coated quartz that is purple, man made coating but it's so beautiful 😍
i appreciate an Australian black opal, well, ok, all Australian opal! also, your thumbnail is erroneous as to the content of the video, but at least not in the click bait fashion. let me explain with the following. A rock is made up of more than 1 mineral A crystal is a mineral with a crystalline structure (atoms that form a repetitive shape) A mineral is a solid inorganic substance that forms naturally A stone is a non-metallic mineral or rock ✌️🐝➕
My favorite crystallized stone is ruby in zolosite. It's rich green and the ruby's reddish pink color combination is truely something that if you've not seen it you should.
So you show a picture of an opal for your video yet it is never mentioned as being one of the coolest rocks? I was expecting to see some really spectacular stones and was disappointed. The video was informative and well made but how could you leave out opal or fire Agate or rainbow moonstone?? Lol Cheers
Most Tigereye has inclusions of asbestos, known as rutile. It's what gives the mineral its chatoyant shimmer. Azurite is also found as a companion mineral to Malachite. All of the stones, featured in this video, are MINERALS, not rocks. "Celestite" is pronounced Suh-LESS-tite, not SELL-us-tite.
You didn't mention that the blue form of "tiger's eye" is called "hawk's eye". Or that the green shown with the azurite is malachite -- they often occur together.
I love this video but I wish you would tell me how much it cost or how much it's worth per gram per ounce per pound it would just be helpful for rock hounds like me Love the video thank you
A gemstone video that actually uses images and videos of the actual gemstone your talking about!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

So many neat looking rocks, I'd bet they'd make lovely jewelery!!!

@RedRoseSeptember22, yes, most of these minerals are used in jewelry making. They're great for collecting, too.

Ossidiana [ vulcano] Lapislazzuli 🤩🤩 , bornais, ecc ecc very very Beautiful..Thank you
Thank you so much this is Fabulous explanation , and show, and tell Fantastic ❤
Lapis was prefered to azurite for pigment. Easier to grind into a fine powder. Da vinci used it foe indigo and various shades of blue.
Would rather have these than diamonds! Much more beautiful!
Do you have diamonds? We can swap.😊
I agree, Bonnie!
Fascinating! Thank you so much for researching this, editing and narrating it and then sharing it with us. Cheers!
