Really inspirational video you’ve done there mate, I’m a new subscriber to your channel after listening to thegreygardener mention you I thought I would see what you’re all about. I’m taking the leap myself in Feb/March and leaving my current job and going out on my own full time and starting a garden maintenance company I’ve been doing 2 days a week this summer with a local gardener to get some knowledge behind me, I’m really nervous about doing it but also really excited as each day it’s getting closer to reality, all I have left to get is a leaf blower and a strimmer (I have a multi tool but super heavy) what strimmer would you recommend?, My biggest worry is the pricing of jobs and the great British weather, how did you manage this when you started out?
Hi mate follow me on Instagram if you have it or my Facebook links are in the description I will happily chat on the phone and go into more detail Happy to help you out Richard as I was exactly the same when I started I was nervous but ) years in don’t know what I was worrying about best thing I ever did Thank you for the support means the world to have such amazing people subscribing to the channel Adam ( the grey gardener is a great guy) As I say give me a follow and I’ll happily chat more on the phone Kind Regards Pete
Oh yes you might have noticed the fence that’s because my 2 year old kept pulling all the decks off so they are now all at the top and the bottom half’s just empty 😂🎄
Hi Pete love watching your content, you show every aspect of gardening which is awesome and knicked a couple of your trick 😂. Just wondering what do you do with waste you take away? I decided last year to do it myself and been busy all year round, which is great love what I do, but had to knock a lot back due to taking waste away... please give me some advice on this thanks
Hi John well done for giving it ago and being so busy that’s awesome well done buddy Waste wise a lot of customers have bins or compost areas / bonfire piles but I will take waste away if needed I’ll charge £25 a ton bag or charge £250 a van load I take mine to a place called gunners not far from me they charge me £75-£90 a load and their price is the same for a bag or a van load so worth while going when you have lots I know lots of tips will take it and charge on weight you also need a waste carriers licence Thank you for the kind words your support means so much 🙏
It his scary working for your self at the start took me 12 months to get t going because of covid .I was working for some one for 18 months covid kicked in he had no work so I was forced in to it covid did me a favour. Now busy own van tools best job in the world.
Hi Nick thank you for sharing your story it’s nice to know good things came from Covid and I’m really pleased it’s going well for you It’s the best job in the world

Being self employed gives you freedom
You work for the clients you like you did the hours you want and charge want you want
I used to work dead end jobs for £1350 a month I now do that or more a week so financially it’s more rewarding
You do have good and bad weeks and overheads running costs etc but the freedom to work your hours on your terms and have control of your life and take holidays when you want it’s perfect
I’m 100% in control of my life and do what makes me happy and knobody ever tells me what to do
If you get rude clients or bad payers you sack them off
Also you work with Mother Nature not always easy in winter but a pleasure in summer 💚🍺
I’d never go back to working a dead end Monday to Friday job with a boss looking over my every move clock watching you on lunch breaks etc
Go self employed and escape the trap the system the yes sir no sir way of working
Be the boss and you’ll never look back your life will be 100% better buddy I promise you 💪🏼

Thank you Alan hasn’t been easy but but very rewarding ill never look back now
I like working the hours i choose and for the customers I like
Really inspirational video you’ve done there mate, I’m a new subscriber to your channel after listening to thegreygardener mention you I thought I would see what you’re all about.
I’m taking the leap myself in Feb/March and leaving my current job and going out on my own full time and starting a garden maintenance company I’ve been doing 2 days a week this summer with a local gardener to get some knowledge behind me, I’m really nervous about doing it but also really excited as each day it’s getting closer to reality, all I have left to get is a leaf blower and a strimmer (I have a multi tool but super heavy) what strimmer would you recommend?,
My biggest worry is the pricing of jobs and the great British weather, how did you manage this when you started out?
Hi mate follow me on Instagram if you have it or my Facebook links are in the description I will happily chat on the phone and go into more detail
Happy to help you out Richard as I was exactly the same when I started I was nervous but ) years in don’t know what I was worrying about best thing I ever did
Thank you for the support means the world to have such amazing people subscribing to the channel
Adam ( the grey gardener is a great guy)
As I say give me a follow and I’ll happily chat more on the phone
Kind Regards
Pete
nice one pete. not sure about the tree tho :P lol
Hi John well done for giving it ago and being so busy that’s awesome well done buddy
Waste wise a lot of customers have bins or compost areas / bonfire piles but I will take waste away if needed I’ll charge £25 a ton bag or charge £250 a van load
I take mine to a place called gunners not far from me they charge me £75-£90 a load and their price is the same for a bag or a van load so worth while going when you have lots
I know lots of tips will take it and charge on weight you also need a waste carriers licence
Thank you for the kind words your support means so much 🙏
It his scary working for your self at the start took me 12 months to get t going because of covid .I was working for some one for 18 months covid kicked in he had no work so I was forced in to it covid did me a favour. Now busy own van tools best job in the world.
Hi Nick thank you for sharing your story it’s nice to know good things came from Covid and I’m really pleased it’s going well for you
It’s the best job in the world
Why hire me, what separates me from other companies!??
You just have to sell yourself the way you look the way you speak maybe have a portfolio so you can show your standard of work when quoting jobs
You’ve got to do all you can to stand out from the crowd 🙌🏼
