In the past I always listened to MW wherever I traveled. The commercials and announcers provided a feel for the community I was traveling through. 🇺🇲
Thats a good point mtc
Interesting video thanks Peter 👍
Sounds very interesting. I am in USA but I have listened to Springbok Radio, which was a shortwave commercial service. It was equally interesting. Have a great weekend. 73.
Thanks for the comment RJDA
Peter what do you think about 1323 in Brighton closing recently ? Good for dx anyway. Also do you have any knowledge of c-quam for stereo on MW ? Shame it was never made legal here....
I grew up with Beacon Radio 303
Great information. Unfortunately, I don't listen to any radio stations these days that have commercials. I only listen to internet radio stations that either only have one or two ads per hour, or they play some of the vintage ads of th 60s and 70s, which I enjoy listening to for he nostalgia.
thanks for that findit, yes the old ads sound the best
I refuse to listen to the BBC. I now listen to radio Caroline flashback or MiAMigo international. Enjoying your clips Peter 👍
Radio Caroline flashback thats Kevin 2E0HJA who is a friend
Nothing interests me on BBC radio either :)
Mentioning offshore pirate radio A friend Kevin 2E0HJA is a DJ on radio caroline, he holds a 2 meter net on GB3CE 8pm Sundays but guess its a little out of range for you on vhf.
give Kevin my regards - good luck with the net
