im still deciding this XHDATA D-808 or AT25 AMP
The PL 990x has no RDS on FM what i cant understand...the Xhdata d 808 has RDS and airband on top for 1/3 of the price from the PL 990x. Actually i want buy the 990x but im not sure if that's a upgrade to the D 808 .What do you think?Good deal or waisting money? I'm just using AM with 30m wire antenna
I had an air bnb...just let them in show them and then never had anyone call me again
It is so wonderful to see my fathers ship and radio station again. Your information seems a little off but it is close enough. Keep on doing this great work!
WWV and WWVH were once voted radio stations of the year by TIME magazine😅 CHU was runner up but was given an inclusion award for being bi-linguel😮
..simple math states that it will have a good swr on 15 and 6 metres. I have built 40m verticals, and the antenna is a 3/4 wavelength on 15m, and 1.75 wavelength on 6 metres.. VE3IIM/VE6PG
As a teenager growing up in London I used to listen to AFN on MW. I occasionally picked up North American radio stations in the winter. It was exciting to pursue in addition to SW.
Once you learn the difference between a station I.D. and aan hour long program you,ll see the facts about DSp tuned radios. The ' chip"becomes your limitin tuning and also pleasant audio! But the Manufactuers keep pushing non-radio bells and whistles so you,ll buy them( clocks , memories Sing and give milk is next!
🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴👍well done. Done it years ago. Full of crap and biased
I’m on Longwave! Arctic 252 has got it’s licence for 252kHz
I don't really care about the radio, tell me more about your dog please.
60 kilohertz
It wasn't Medium Wave, but Atlantic 252 on LW was one I remember from the 90s.
Buggering Boys Club 😮 NO GOOD 🇬🇧
BBC 648 😭I mis it so much.....!
There is no radio licence , it was abolished over 50 years ago .
Who in this day and age watches live TV.
There is no licence needed for radio anymore apparently
Agree 100% about the SD card, should have been for recording. Unless it's for listening recordings from some other device, such as Tecsun Q3 (included in the Tecsun PL 990x kit) Other than that, I'm pretty excited about this
Oh werrd son

9 years for me Sir, I'm still going through the same speech to convince my mom and dad to cancel theirs, same story it again involves a paedo.
Yep stop watching the propaganda channel government the mouth piece,
I've stopped paying the TV tax because I don't want to fund propaganda, lies, groomers and pedophiles.
Do not allow any of these BBC thugs to intimidating you.
How old is your RE27? Is it Made in USA or Mexico?
I live in the Midwest USA and at night I pick up MW stations on both coasts with my General Electric Super Radio lll. Cheers
Very cool! Thx!
In my area of the states, we had (and still have) 700 WLW Cincinnati and 840 WHAS Louisville which are (or were) "clear channel" stations -- 50,000 watt stations that you could hear over most of the US in the evening. There was also WLS from Chicago. I can remember when the latter two still played music (but usually mixed in with more talk than FM), while WLW was the station I would tune in to hear Cincinnati Reds baseball games. I have not tried listening in years because, as you mention, the band has become much nosier and is mostly talk radio. One thing I remember from my teen years... I had a 1967 Rambler that only had AM radio (medium wave). The two types of interference it was most likely to pick up were lightning and the firing of the engine's spark plugs!
no contract, no contact
Peter, what you up to now? No video's for a while.
Long gone cfun Vancouver used to blast great music and incredible music across western Canada. I miss real non canned radio.
If you have physical media like dvds, blu rays, etc. you should look into setting up a media server. It’s super easy, way cheaper than TV or having Netflix & Hulu & Disney+ & Paramount+ & HBO Max lol
airband?
Very nice. Informative
I have many fond memories of medium wave listening. As a kid I used to spend hours tuning through the dial, especially in the dark evenings. The dials taught me a lot of geography. We used to listen to the Archers as a family, and while the reception was ok in the summer months, come winter and the dark evenings there was a German station that must have shared the same wavelength and started up with its repeating call sign, Hier ist der deutsche reichsender 904 followed by a short jingle. So soon after the war that was not a popular intrusion! Our radioset then had a turntable and it was possible to minimize this breakthrough with the 'wireless' half facing the wall. I still have a Sony ICF-SW10 pocket radio which I occasionally DX with. I've noticed that the long wave is almost empty now, except for radio 4. It's very sad, as you say.
In the 1960s and 1970s...we had KHJ (boss radio) on 930khz.....and KRLA (Hit Radio 11) on 1110khz in Los Angeles California...XETRA (Xtra Gold) on 690khz and XERB (Radio North America) on 1090khz both from Mexico... playing oldies... they were great.. Good Jocks and Great Music 🎵🎵🎶🎶.... Great Memories Too 😮
I never watch live content anymore, i don't even own a TV, but for some reason this just annoys them and they hound you even more.
As a schoolboy, built s crystal radio with dad that received medium wave. Sadly i cant show that to my kid, the Helsinki MW shut down over a decade ago. There also used to be long wave (LW), in Finland there was a powerful LW transmitter in Lahti (100km north of Helsinki. Its two tall towers were a landmark (and still stand, although the transmitter has not been operating for a long time). This station could be heard all over the country.
Only watch Netflix, UA-cam and Prime Video, but don’t watch any Live TV on Prime Video and YT.
A friend did some great DXing hooking up his MW radio to a 100 foot chain link fence.
Rediffusion ran the first TV station (it was cable) in HK.
Where can I get a stethoscope?
Thank you for your honest opinions I and others really appreciate them and you, I have been into shortwave radio for decades now and have enjoyed listening to English speaking foreign stations and still do. Take care and stay safe. 👍
I defunded the beeb because of their biased behaviour towards the Reform Party 🇬🇧 disgraceful
Loved the mic 👍 How do you tune the SWR, do I cut bits off the aerial ? Thanks for your great videos.
😂😂😂😂😂
wonder when radio 5 goes, they will boost Radio Caroline ?
American here. Glad to see some Brits still have a sense of humor. Pip Pip Cheerio.
Well done, Pete 😊 Why should you pay for left-wing extremist propaganda. 😂😂😂😂
