Wow… what a podcast, came here for BGT bits ended up watching whole thing in middle of night. Surely gonna be late to work 2mrw. Huss is so lovable character.
Wow that's the first I've heard an Aussie talk about the head siraj incident from a different lense. Sam is spot on with it. Both are reasons for it. And I loved it. Need more!
Absolutely loved it! The Dale Steyn encounter, the reminiscing about Klusener, Kalu, Waugh brothers, Wasim-Waqar, the team song tradition, side stories around the partnership with McGrath and of course amazing Adelaide... All of it !
That steyn story is just so amazing ..... and m sure dale steyn would have said that i mean his passionate eyes used to talk all the time as well .... that passage of play would have been amazing
Can't love Huss any more but this interview might have done that. Easily one of my favourite cricketers ever. As a Sri Lankan, I was delighted that the team gave Huss a guard of honour when he walked in for his last innings.
Huss you are saying india don't have to worry after kohli and Rohit retirement becoz there are so many young talents but the thing is that in indian cricket politics stardom are the hurdles in selection procedure but in australian sporting culture if u perform well u r in otherwise u r out that's why australia is 6 times wc champion
As Indian I do respect australian cricket they way they play the game however very rare cricketer as role model on and off the field but Hussey is like gentleman role model like Rahul Dravid.
Sorry Mr Hussey but you got something backwards- Kallis doesn’t almost have Ponting’s batting record-- Ponting almost has Kallis’s batting record. For the record.
When you take into account strike rates and who they've scored runs against (ie not boosted by lots of not out 100s and 200s against Zimbabwe and West Indies), Ponting is miles ahead
@@jehanariyaratnam2874 South Africa didn't play tests against Zimbabwe and almost never against the Wet Indies. Where are you getting this information from? Show me how many test matches Kallis played against Zimbabwe - You can't even find one can you? And if you find ONE. Will that prove your point? Miles ahead you say?
@ look at Kallis series against a hapless West Indies in 2003/04 when they couldn't buy a wicket, and he averaged 169 against Zimbabwe. He clearly tucked in against weaker opposition
@@jehanariyaratnam2874 So one match each? 169 avg how many innings? Not enough innings to move the needle to any notable degree in 10 year + 10000 run + career. You think Ponting didn't "tuck in" against weaker opponents?
What a great episode. Huss has some fantastic stories doesn't he? Wow. I'm going to add Freddie Flintoff for the all-rounder. Lethal bowler, devastating batter, and Gilly had zero chance against him. That's gotta count for something.
Hello guys...what do u think is austrailas plans for future test team...now that mcsweeney is out and austraila persisting with oldies...australia mostly never tried their youth in home and away.......i am quoting australian test teams age below........khawaja 38. Marnus 30 ..smith 36 ....head 30..marsh 33 .. carey 32..starc 34...hazelwood 33...cummins 31..lyon 37 ...boland 35.... Abbott 32......
Kohli has 9 centuries in Australia, probably the most for any foriegn player. Its not the pitches or the bowling that bother him, hes just gotten older and maybe some deficiencies have crept into his batting. Have to disagree with Hussey there..
It's 7 100s and he's just cashed in when the pitches have been flat. The 169 in Melbourne- he was roughed up by Mitchell Johnson but got dropped early and also skied a top edged pull shot just out of reach of the fielder early on. None of them have led to wins except the test in Perth this year and India were well on their way to winning anyway when he came in and cashed in on a tired bowling attack on a pitch that flattened out into a road after the initial moisture came out. He's never scored any match changing 100s in Australia, just an opportunist that cashes in when the balls soft
Why do the aussies always talk about the three quicks whenever it comes to retirement the quicks are as good as they have been and they are not that old if anything its their peak even Smith he is not that old If Anderson can play till 40 why not these guys they are as good as Anderson
Please answer my question if a player a very good and dominate the world and some time greater thier cricket boards then cricket board Thier carrier or captaincy for example kevin peterson and virat kohli please don't lie 😢
Aussies talking about send off is the biggest hypocrites after all the bad behaviours examples set by their players. Did Hussey ever have a stern word with his Aussie teammates 🙄

Happy that he is still part of CSK

Probably the best episode of willow talk I’ve been privy to
Mike Hussey - Australian most humble and Innocent Cricketer
IMO, Gilchrist, Steve Waugh and Steve Smith are ahead than him in terms of humbleness & innocency
@@RealistVK Gilchrist yes. I don't know Steve Waugh very well but Steve Smith is certainly not more humble than Hussey (sandpaper).
@@RealistVKSteve Waugh? 😂😂😂
Steve Waugh was humble, I think after retirement. I my opinion, Ponting was the most humble.

Honestly the nicest bloke in cricket is Mike Hussey
