India needs a good top and middle order. Then they can have only specialist bowlers who can just bowl and bowl well.. like Kuldeep. In tests 4 lethal bowlers are enough and an all rounder as support. For a wicket keeper scoring 30s or 40s is really good. As a wicket keeper he should come at number 7 or 8. But others in the team dont even score 30 runs, hence Pant is coming at number 4

Great Gavaskar is right; international players should be more aware of the situation they find themselves in test matches and longer limited over formats. My theory is simple. If you do not know how to play according to the situation ( real cricket ), you do not deserve to play for your country in any format, including 20-20. I think if the selectors take this approach, it would help a lot of players use their brains and skills more effectively in all formats, rather than just the "heavy bats" that have become synonymous with the T20 circus.
For Sydney test , Jurel should play as wk . Sarfaraz Khan and Prasid Krishna should also be given a chance in the playing 11 , as they have patiently waited for 5 tests . In any case current line up has not able to perform in Adelaide , Gabba ( rain helped in the draw) and MCG , so why not give the others a chance .

Why did India give up?
Risabh Pant is a risk. He is a compulsive hitter, careless often, and no thought of team's requirements while batting. He will provide such turning points again and again when India will lose. Otherwise drop him and bring in a sane reliable player.
Sack the superstars Kohli, Rohit and KL Rahul. They are a drag on the team. They are not contributing last 3-4 years in tests.

Given the fact that India would have come out to draw the match today, they should have sent Jaiswal & KL at the top, followed by Sundar, Nitish, Jadeja thereby dropping Pant,Rohit,Virat to bottom of the batting line-up. Atleast with this order, India won't be at 25-3 situation.

Great Gavaskar is right; international players should be more aware of the situation they find themselves in test matches and longer limited over formats. My theory is simple. If you do not know how to play according to the situation ( real cricket ), you do not deserve to play for your country in any format, including 20-20. I think if the selectors take this approach, it would help a lot of players use their brains and skills more effectively in all formats, rather than just the "heavy bats" that have become synonymous with the T20 circus.
For Sydney test , Jurel should play as wk . Sarfaraz Khan and Prasid Krishna should also be given a chance in the playing 11 , as they have patiently waited for 5 tests . In any case current line up has not able to perform in Adelaide , Gabba ( rain helped in the draw) and MCG , so why not give the others a chance .
