      Kola Ibitayo easy answer because I stutter myself
      Since 7 and half .....I’m 24 now and still do and trough-out the years I been knowing my stuttering better than anyone else , you stutter with you talk to people because of social anxiety , you can speak so well by yourself but you still stutter but you don’t
      Even notice because you feel way less anxiety .....for example when I’m alone and calm and confident , I can talk properly with people but
      I still stutter but like 5% but if I had a real high anxiety and low confidence , my stuttering went from 5% to 90%........remenber no one is perfect

    I cured my stuttering on my own by decreasing my exhale rate by an exercise and improving my pronounciation to keep my mouth always open to let the air out.I also used passive air flow after a preparation and came over all my fears. I am fluent totally in low and moderate stress levels naturally.I use airflow under high stress and it works.I try to get used to high stress cases to reduce the learnt stress.

  • @lucapaluca8537

    I will try this. My stuttering is not bad at all. It's quite strange, when I'm talking to girls or my mom I'm pretty fluent. However once I sense a level of tension has risen, I panic and will run into blocks. Also, when I'm engaging in normal conversation, I mean surface level topics, I usually don't stutter. But, when I try to explain something deeper I do find myself hitting more blocks. I have used pauses and speaking slowly, but when ur in that intense situation and you don't feel "safe" or "vulnerable" I will start running into my favorite friend, the block/stutter. I don't hate my stutter. It's very interesting to learn about. Anxiety is def tied into stuttering. I will try riding the wave of my exhale more. This is exciting. Before I ever heard about this technique I noticed that when I would speak off my exhale , It's like I was riding a smooth wave, great feeling, especially if you are talking about important topics and you want to get your point of side across. Update will be coming in 2 weeks.
    Update: u have to not fear it overcome it, took some weeks but I did. It was all in my head. Sometimes I get it but I can Control it. Don’t fear and it will go away. Also presenting helps a shit ton. Remeber anyone seeing this do not fear.

    • @3stuttersteps
      @3stuttersteps  Рік тому +1

      hi Luca, thank you for you deep explanation, so yes, what you are talking about is more of a controlling the situation. It happens to all of us, when we get into a different situation. I think in my final stages of overcoming it was when I needed to switch to speak in a different language, that was catching me years after when I already knew hot to get it under control. For instance when I needed to switch to German or Polish I was going to struggle. I think because you try to find the right words and you have too many thoughts in your head so your breathing is not catching up with the speed of your thoughts. To many thoughts and you only have one mouth :) So but I don't have that problem now anymore. I think once you know what you are doing, your mind will eventually catch up and apply the same system to every situation, but it takes a lot of time to adjust it to all the situations. I talked about it in one of my videos. So basically, because you are teaching yourself to readjust the way to speak using the new technic and the new habit to every new situation. It's almost like a part of artificial intelligence that is trying to learn and adjust to a new situation. Interesting, - right?

      @lucapaluca8537 3 місяці тому +2

      @@harshit_9t9 Hey man, I have come a long fucking way since that comment, damn. Basically man to overcome it and to be free, you have to stutter and own that shit. Don't be afraid, just keep facing your fear, esp public speaking. Now, once you have a grasp on the fear part you can start to work on where you stutter and how to become fluent. But everyday you must face your fear. Give yourself breaks and understand your own energy. Something that helped me a lot, is working through the prolongation. Meaning when I feel like the word will be difficult to say you just push though like nothing. Also, I purposefully stutter on the word before so that the next word is much more fluent. Like for example. I struggle on the word struggle. So, I will say I-I struggle, if I feel like the word struggle won't come out, then I will purposely stutter on struggle. So, It sounds like I-I s-struggle with... That works for me pretty well tbh. If you want to talk more about it though, hmu on my email bro in my utube channel we can talk more.

      Yes, I tried to post my progress here a couple of days ago but for some odd reason it wouldn't let me comment.
      Anyways, at first it went smoothly and I was excited to see the results of doing it for a few weeks but then it kept getting harder as I got more occupied with studies. I had to speak much more frequently because of my new courses at high school and as a stutterer, it put pressure on me. I couldn't keep up with this method so I went back to my old habits and decided to prolong this "experiment" for my next 2,5 week holiday which is coming up next week.
      So I guess I'm going to try it again for 2,5 weeks starting next week. This time there won't be anything harming the progress because I won't be occupied at all.

    I remember I was sitting in my friend's car when we started speaking about different things and there was my turn to tell my story. This was the first time I decided to take the challenge and not ignore the hard words and letters. I decided to make those pauses before difficult letters and not to pronounce the same letter twice. The first time I did it I noticed they didn't mind it and I was not embarrassed too. The speech kind of went naturally and I decided to do it again and this time I did it faster and I liked it soooo much that I was smiling and deep inside I felt so exited that I could tell what I wanted and I didn't have to change words and tweak my story. I was using all the words I wanted. That was amazing. So, try it guys and you will see it really is not hard and it so much worth it. When I now tell my new friends that I was terribly stuttering no one even believes me a single bit. So do it and share it with me I want to hear it.

    A few studies strongly suggest it is possible to get rid of stuttering in 2-3 weeks. It is the MPI program (modified phonation interval). It consist of talking several hours daily to someone with a system telling you exaclty when your speech is wrong, and allow you to correct yourlsef. This step is 2 to 3 weeks long, and then the following months you gradually transfer the fluency to more and more stressful situation.
    I personnaly have significantly decreased my stuttering with intense aloud reading with someone present, and the help of some tools (delayed auditory feedback, smooth articulation).

    I will try this but I have already lost hope.

    • @3stuttersteps
      @3stuttersteps  7 років тому +5

      Lost hope it would be if it doesn't work but when I see people stutter now and I don't it makes me smile. Like today, my friend is stuttering but he manages it on his own. Several months ago, I explained him the technique but as 90% of people of course he doesn't believe that just this simple steps can eliminate his stuttering completely. Because it is so simple no one even bothers to believe in it and make it work.
      But of course the hardest thing is discipline ( or almost impossible for 90% of people).
      It is actually hard to watch your every blocking sound and correct it every time. It is hard to do for an hour and so much harder for the entire day. And I am talking a week, or 2 weeks.
      First it's hard to believe and people give up.
      Second, it's hard to watch yourself for even an hour and people give up because it is hard.
      For these reasons people don't even get past one day and give up.
      If you watch and correct yourself for even one hour you will see that it works, and it is so easy, the pauses are just very long at the very beginning (that's what it seems to you, but they are actually not) but you need to do it every single time.

    • @fasosystems

      Thank you for all. I started your technique and I already see improvement but only if I decide to speak. If I am asked a question in public I cannot respond because, accordingly to your video I try to breath and let words come smoothly (sometimes and words never come).

    Hi Michael. I am a Speech Pathologist. I recommend that people who stutter really need to see a therapist. You are sharing a technique that involves breathing, however, it is not the best way to control your breathing for fluent speech. A speech therapist can teach techniques that are research-based and proven to be effective to promote fluent speech. We do not suggest holding your breath after inhaling. This can increase tension and promote blocking of speech. People that follow your advice may find it even more difficult to speak. I am glad, however, that you have found something that helps you. Every person is different. Best wishes for continued fluency...

    Anyone who wants to stop stuttering needs to watch the video and just do it. You didn't know where to start what to do but now you know. Use it. The sooner you start the sooner you will be out of this habit. So, change your habit. The best thing of it, you don't need to do something extraordinary or get stuck with it for two long. Do it for 2 weeks, this is how much time it took me to finally stop my bad habit and start speaking normally.

    Hi everybody,
    To help you out, you need to watch the video mark it down what is important and do it for two weeks without interruption. The technique is here. Just do it and you will help yourself out. There is no other way. Just do it.
    Once you feel your improvement you have fixed your breathing forever. Next step is to fix your personal suppression. Long years of stuttering makes you feel uncertain. Next step is get rid of that.

      there is no faster or slower progress. There is only time when you teach yourself to do 3 things: when you get stuck (1) stop right there (2) breath in (3) start with a next letter. Master it until you remember to do it for the next time.

    I had been stuttering for 7 years before I finally got rid of it completely. I tried to practice by myself, then took the course of Anna Deeter. No result, just promises and my money spent for the advertisement. All I can say that it's impossible to be normal reading a lot of articles and using youtube tips only. Now I speak like stuttering wasn't my problem at all.

      He'll be fine......don't make him feel as if he's doing something is wrong and don't rush him. Have him listen to constant motivational sermons to instill self confidence in who he is because this world isn't kind and he needs to learn his worth young and his stuttering isn't a disability/disadvantage. He can do anything everyone else can do, even better. He just has to practice everyday even if he doesn't see results for days,weeks,months.....but make him practice regardless. He WILL have a break threw, it'll be inevitable. I stuttered since the age is 6 SEVERELY!!! I'm 23, live a normal life, have a bachelors degree, and working on my masters now to be a Physician Assistant. I still stutter today but you have to really be listening hard to noticed. He'll be fine, you just have to reassure him and be his biggest cheerleader! And make him talk for himself now so he won't become dependent on you when he's older.

    is this why also prolonging our words help also? Prolonging forces us to breathe out words which stutteters don't do when talking

    • @michael.panchenko
      @michael.panchenko 7 років тому

      jimbo Rose
      Not really, prolonging means you just want to get away with it. You want to pull it through. It's not giving you another step forward toward eliminating the stuttering. You just want to find a way out to say the word.
      Loose the battle but win the war. Make pauses. Breath in. Pronounce one sound, pause, inhale. Say another one, if blocked, do the same, stop, inhale, say next sound and so on. But do not stutter.

      @3stuttersteps  2 роки тому

      Hi Ocilum, it used to happen to me very often too. I think the issue is here, we are taking to much time to think how to say it correctly. In our native language we think to fast. You see it’s either we think too fast or too slow and that’s how we get off the norm and stutter.

      @3stuttersteps  4 роки тому +1

      hey Antonio. New video is coming with key points what to do. Wait for it. Answering your question, ideally it would be the best to breath in before you say but you don't really have to as it is hard, but when you start blocking, don't pull it though, stop, take a bit of air in and continue with the next letter

    • @mohamadelghouti5070
      @mohamadelghouti5070 7 років тому +1

      I should say that it helps, but some moments in life the stress where the stress is high the brain ( at least my brain) forget about all these techniques :P

    • @michael.panchenko
      @michael.panchenko 7 років тому

      Mohamad El Ghouti
      Well, the therapists are observers. They never stuttered and they saw that it makes it easier when you prolong or move shoulders or make pauses and breath in.
      They don't know how to eliminate it.
      They are swig so many people stutter. Whatever they do or say people will always stutter and come back with exact same problem with almost no progress.
      When you say it helps but in some cases it doesn't that means you know how to apply it but you still lack to become consistent, so your brain is confused and it doesn't remember to tell you when to breath in automatically.
      When I said it takes only 2 weeks non of people believe me and non of you will get rid of it until you start implementing this stops and breathing in and stop repeating letters every single time. And it doesn't matter if you're with friends or family.
      It is harder to do it with family because of your strong habit to stutter in a relaxed way.
      The hardest time when you need to remember is maybe the first or the second day then it comes very easy until your brain remembers to do it automatically because your entire body, all your muscles will now now you are not repeating sounds, so you don't stater and you would be able to crack any jokes you want ))) without a problem in very short time once you get used to new way of speaking maybe in about a month or two.
      Because ounce your new habit is in place ( a week or two when you stop stuttering) you will be so amazed and happy but your old habit sometimes kicks in but it is a totally different thing this time. You will block it right away because your body would understand you don't need it anymore.

    Dear Michael,
    Thank you for your video! It is really helpful and useful. Your technique really helped me.
    Unfortunately I can only use your technique with 60-70% success when I am alone. The trick is working only in 20% of the occasions when I speak to others, and is not really working at all when I have to read something out loud.
    Right now the biggest problem for me is reading out texts loud.
    Do you have an advice for that specifically?
    Thank you so much!

      I stutter myself also, but never when reading aloud...ar at lest very rarely. Try when you read at loud to tap your hip or something with your free hand, and to put syllables on your taping. At first you will sound funny, but in 2-3 days you will be ok.

      But I’ve been stuttering my whole life 21 years , and I’m embarrassed. And I never talk to people ugh I hate it, no talk in school, at work, at home.

      Hi Maria, sorry I didn't see this on my phone, PC shows comments much better. I never thought about skype at this moment. I was only thinking about doing a presentation in Toronto at this moment. Practically what you need to do is to follow those steps in the video. I will see if I can lay down the steps on paper. Did you make any progress?

    I've started doing this a week ago, before watching this video. It's not easy, but I think it works. I teach at a university, so I have plenty opportinities to practice lol.

    Respect from Morocco . I had to do a presentation in my college during the first semester and it was really really bad , cuz it was in French Witch I really find hard to control . I was repeating the sentence over and over to try to pronounce a word, and I couldn't stop at it either because it's in the middle of the sentence. I have another one on March 30th and it's longer and has some really bad economics terms for someone who stutters , Like " ajustement annuel " , this word put me through hell in the 1st semester , and I'm obliged to mention it again. I really hope this program works so I don't ruin my 2nd semester presentation. I wish I could use whatever words I wanted but .. dammit Can't do it . Anyway thanks a lot for you program. I read others' comments and I pray for all of us to overcome this ...
