I started doing gel nails at home recently and the soak removal took about 30 minutes. I could see how the acetone was softening and breaking the hold between the gel and nail, but it took some time!!! I still did some scraping and filing to remove the last stubborn patches. I can see that with patience, you can remove it properly and safely.
It can definitely be time consuming and a pain in the butt but it is worth taking the time to make sure that you remove it properly so that you eliminate damage to the nail plate 😉
This was really helpful thank you. I just got my gel removed by a technician who used a drill bit and she was very good. She obviously knew how to do it properly. There is minimal damage to my nails.
Until I started watching some gurus like yourself on UA-cam I thought that it was gel or even acrylic that was ruining my nails. Once I started doing my own nails I noticed a remarkable difference. When I remove product now my nails look healthy and strong. There’s also a lot of bad information on UA-cam so you have to do your due diligence. Tfs your knowledge 🥰
I came here because after doing my own nails at home all my life , when I came to the USA and saw the pampering at nail salons I started with shellac . Did shellac for years and my nails were long and strong . Then last year a nail tech at a new salon convinced me on doing dip. After about 10 sessions of doing dip my nails were just paper thin . I had to cut them down the the base and am doing shellac again and not letting anybody use those e-files . Should I just look for a new nail tech ? I really like dip but I don’t want to have paper thin nails . And no , I have never peel under stress my nail polish because I know that is not good for your nails .
Love this video and I have been using gel for 10 years now. And I used to soak it off, and last 6 months or so peeling the gel off because it's faster, but I do see how it peels off a little of my natural nail each time (weekly) and now they are so thin. Thank you for this. I will go back to soaking.
Great video. Your right. I choose to put a thin layer of hard gel on the nail. Afterwards, I go in with the color, etc. When it time to remove the color, I efile the gel off. I don't worry about touching the natural nail because of the hard gel. I appreciate this channel. I'm constantly on the hunt for healthy gels and better application tips.
I do this too. when the layer of color is thick, even only gel polish is very very hard to remove. so I too put hard gel underneath for the same reason

I’ve yet to find a nail tech that takes it off without a drill. The techs do not believe they are making nails thin with that dang drill. No gel or dip for me.
I know! This is truly insane they just do it to make things quicker and they tell you whatever they want you to hear so that you don’t question them anymore this is been an issue for many years it is nothing new it is very unfortunate but definitely creates the opportunity for me to bring proper education and showing people the results of doing things right and taking a little bit of time. I cannot wait to start education and training and hopefully get more nail techs in more places that are actually improving the health of their clients natural nails regardless of the service they are getting 🤘🏼
I just tell them no. I believe they file it down so that I have no choice but to go in. I tell them to use the buffer and then apply the gel. Works like a charm.
That’s definitely what I see if they’re not gonna do it right in the salon just do it yourself at home it is for the best! in my shop though unless my clients are doing it right they better not touch those nails I take care of it! Lol

I am one of those people that can no longer go to the nail salon because I take care of my mom full time so I decided to buy Gelish Nail foundation Polishes + color gel polish and an LED machine to cure my nails at home. This not only saves me money but allows me to do my nails at home. Instead of soaking my nails, I am using a product called: AL'IVER Nail Polish GEL Remover. RESULTS: my nails come out very nice and can be removed easily, however, I find that sometimes my nails do not last as long as I am always working with water at home doing different home tasks. I may have to take a break and then use something for 1-2 weeks so that my nails may rest. I find that when I have to re-do my nails, without peeling them, the gel remover bubbles up and you have to push the polish off. Sometimes my nails hurt when I put the gel polishes and go under the LED light. Any recommendations?

I noticed damaged nails are coming from how its applied and removed and a most of all bad nail tech who has little knowledge of natural nails. Tools are the most important especially drills using the wrong one Also too if you use it a certain angle can really mess up the removing process more pressure can remove it wrong and take too much off. Everyone has different nail types I think its very important to ask people what type of nails they have. Its kinda like hair so u can find the best method for them because if u are using something that don't work for them they are not happy. thank you for this video. I have RA (rheumatoid Arthritis) and after i had my nails done the last time i had a reaction the toxins kicked off my RA. And i realized after i had my finger nails cut and my hands got better. I never had a problem before but also I had covid in Dec 21 and almost died and i know my immune system changed. And what happend my hands and feet swelled that i was in pain all the time and as i detoxed and took it off my hands and feet got better. So i am really interested in a more natural way to have a pedi and mani people with autoimmune disease do have to be careful of toxins in things cuz it can cause a flare up. I told my hubby i love the foot soaks and massage and i only go about 2x a year to have them done before i go to a conference. So he said well just go for that and have your nails cleaned up and just done have anything put on your nails. So really interested in what you come up with more nature paint for nails.

I have been using gel polish for a long time and I’ve helped a lot of clients and aside from maybe three taller clients that develop some kind of allergic reaction to it overall I’ve had no issues I would say that’s pretty good considering how many nails I’ve been doing over the last seven years. As long as the nails are treated right the chances of having a true problem or health issue with gel polish is super minimal. I have some nails that were damaged so badly with efile that’s there places on the nails that have no nail I’m presently using ISDIN ON THEM I’m leaving all product off them except the ISDIN but have to reapply after handwashing IS THERE ANY ADVISE FOR ME ?

OMGosh I know this video is a little older but it was so informative. I'm trying to do my own nails at home with builder gel and full cover tips...my natural nails are so thin and split and just awful (thyroid issues) they arent really peeling, as I am careful to soak them off the right way, but are very damaged. Do you recommend covering them with a gel product or letting them grow out and anxiously wait to put another set on? TYFS this was great!
You can definitely put product on your nail but what you need to be careful with his not introducing any more damage to the nail plate.you have to be very careful in the nail prep Especially if you are using an electric file unfortunately those more often than not lead to nail damage. And when it comes to removing the product we definitely want to make sure you are not peeling any product off if you were using a hard builder gel that means it does not soak with acetone so you have to be very careful once again filing product down so that you are not damaging the nail plate. I personally feel there is a lot of work that Hass to go in to nail prep and care when using hard gels And although it does not necessarily have to damage the nail that’s generally what happens 😩 You just have to make sure that you were taking extra care of your nail plate

Thank you so much. I got my nails done for the first time and they we're messed up when I went to another lady she was very disappointed with how my nails looked. But the point is I got it fixed and put gel on instead and it started coming off I didn't know I wasn't supposed to peel it off now my nails are hurting and are thin.
I have gone to three different nail salons. Gel polish will eventually ruin your nails. Why? Because gel is very hard to remove. The do take off the top coat and soak the nails but they 9 times out of 10, they get the sander going. I refuse to get gel ever again.
Unfortunately it’s the professionals you’re going to that are damaging your nails not the product. And even more unfortunate is the fact that you are most often going to a professional that isn’t doing the right thing. And it’s crazy because they’re professionals but that’s the way this industry has been for the most part for a long time. It is definitely possible to have healthy nails with gel manicures definitely watch my videos especially the recent ones so I’ve revisited how the process should go step-by-step.

The filing from doing shellac for 4months straight has weakened my nails, they are breaking by the meaty part of the nail. I just want long lasting polish for my natural nails, don't do fake nails. Now I'm trying to grow out the thin nail and I'm dying. I'm not going to do shellac anymore as the filling oes not help at all, can't u do shellac with no filling/drill??
You do not need a drill to do any of the manager processes regardless of the product but you definitely should not be using it when doing regular shellac gel, polish, or regular polish. Unfortunately, most professionals do not use it properly. They only do it to cut time. 😩 I have a few videos going over my manager process different steps. Definitely make sure to watch them learn how to take care of your own nails. It is probably your best bet but you can definitely do it. It’s not hard just takes a little bit of patience and consistency. More videos coming soon!
That’s amazing learning to do your own nails right way is awesome convenient and affordable LOL. By what type of nail do u mean polish? I love gel polish DND is a great brand and very cheap you do need a UV or LED light to use gel polish so if you don’t have either of those I would definitely practice with regular polish it won’t last as long but you’re able to easily redo them yourself it’s also easy to practice polishing on yourself with regular polish because you can wipe it away really easily with acetone.
Absolutely! And for you I definitely recommend making sure that you were regularly pushing your cuticle back to keep your nail plate nice and open especially if your nails are super short. But you can definitely enjoy a gel manicure #ShortNailsDon’tCare 😜
My tech doesn’t use a drill to remove the gel, but he used a metal scraper? What do u think about this method? My nails felt weird after removal, but it didn’t look like there was any damage... THANKS!
I use the end of a cuticle pusher to scrape off the gel after it has been soaked. The nails can definitely feel a little bit weird because you do have them soaking in acetone for about 15 minutes so they can curl and shrink maybe even feel a little bit of pressure but that sensation should really go away once all the clips are off and the gel is scraped off if you have to scrape too hard you might want to just soak it a little bit more it should really scraped easily
That’s not a very short direct answer. In general exposure to UV light can affect a small percentage of people not necessarily that it will and in most cases have no serious long-term effects but everybody’s body is different. For those that are concerned with the exposure they have two UV lights you can always apply some block on your hands and wrists before heading to the nail shop that way you are protecting your hands more really great for anti-aging as well especially if your regular using the lamps
They used a drill to take the gel off amd then again to buff I guess before putting the new polish on. My nails now feel like I had acrylics removed they're thin and sore. Idk what to do and I'm just scared
There are many different aspects to using UV lights and LED lights and I’d rather break it up so I address individual subjects instead of a video that has a bunch of information that might be hard to follow. Great thing is everyone has different ways of delivering information and different information that they present to begin with but I hope to be able to get to all of that for you
Oh My Gel you are welcome, last week to be honest im about to order set of gel for the first time I didn’t use it ever but I searched on UA-cam about the side effects of gel polish since im a dentist so the health side important to me, at the same time i cant tell you how i liked the gel art that ppl share on plateform and i was dreaming to make some arts on my nail but when I watched what the doctors said on UA-cam, i stepped back alot and I searched the best regular nail polish like essis at the same time i said its bettter and easy to remove, beside everything to be honest letting the gel for tow weeks on the nail it’s unhealthy process at all even acrylics, too much bacteria keep going down the nail even if we washed hands still some will remain so i choose to be with regular, I dontknow if this is true or not
I have soft and week nails and 1 damage nail I am worried having gel nails and even acrylic nails coz it may damage my natural nails I tried nail oils and creams nothing seems to be working ! What do u susgest ?
As long as your nails are being taken care of properly there really is no need to have breaks between manicures regardless of the product. Myself as well as all my clients maintain a constant manicure for years and we all have the healthiest nails we’ve ever had but it all really depends on how the nail is cared for during the manicure and how the clients treat their nails between manicures
Does anyone know it the magic removal is also damaging to your nails? From the brand Aliver/Vinimay. It doesn’t require filing off, so maybe it is not damaging?
I’ve tried the magic remove them myself and was not happy with the results doesn’t work as well as you would want it to. Plus it has very strong chemical smell and you definitely feel the sensation of it on your nail plate versus just soaking off. And buffing gel polish is not damaging at all unless your buffing it down to your actual nail the idea of the buff is really just to break up the seal of that topcoat so that the product absorbs better to soak and remove. I am bit late to this video as I am new to gel polish. Started using gel because my natural nails kept breaking. Bought peel off base coat to save time soaking off. Does peel off base coat damage the nail plate?
I actually have some that I will be reviewing I really couldn’t tell you because I’ve never used it or seen the nail plate after one is peeled off, but I’ll definitely be getting to it soon, so stay tuned!
That I know of no there is not. But I can definitely do some research and see if there are options to thin out gel polish like you would regular nail polish without affecting the Quality of the gel polish. If there is a way I will find it out!
I understand this video is a few years old and I may not see a response but I'll still ask in case. I got my natural nails painted with gel polish for the first time about a week ago. Would I be able to grow out the polish? I would just slowly cut my nails as the gel grew out. Could I do this instead of going back to the salon to remove it?
Absolutely! As you cut your nails just make sure to file it with a nail file so that the edges are smooth they won’t snag and also should help prevent the gel from lifting.

That’s a tough one to answer. the best is really to remove and replace product regularly that’s the “proper” thing 😉. but it won’t damage the nail to keep it on longer as long as things were done right to begin with. I keep my mani on for up to 6 weeks always for years now and my nails are healthy and all of my clients have healthy nails regardless if they have their manis for 2 weeks 3 weeks or 4 weeks. It’s all about the process 😉
This explains a lot😅but I have a question, cause when I use acetone to take away the rest of the gel after filing dosen’ the acetone go on my nails which thins them out? But I understand a lot more now..😅
I promise you the filing on the nail plate is what thins them out. Acetone will never thin or disintegrate your nail plate. As of right now after all the things I’ve tried soaking of LG is the healthiest way to remove nail polish
Of the hundreds and I mean hundreds of different gel polishes that I’ve use there was only ever one that stained the nail. And I mean I’ve used like well over 1000 different gel polishes so many different brands and I’ve only ever had that happen with one. It really shouldn’t . Regular polish also she didn’t really stay in the nail definitely make sure that you were using a base coat. With regular polish it tends to be with lower and polish brands or super pigmented colors like red. But it really shouldn’t something that happens all the time if it does And you use a base coat maybe it’s because of the brand that you’re using
Unless you have an allergy of some kind of gel polish then the product itself will not affect your nails in a negative way. The preparation of the nails for the gel polish and the improper removal of the gel polish are definitely things that can damage your nails. Also in my experience: medication, too much or not enough vitamins, some nail strengthener‘s are all factors that could contribute to that. In few cases it’s even possible that hereditary traits come in to play but those are very few and far between instances. I have rehabilitated many nails damaged for many reasons and nails that clients have always had weak, I do it all while my client maintains a gel manicure constantly and have 100% success in improving nail health. I promise 9.9 times out of 10 it’s the process, the removal and how you overall treat your nail 😉

Also I take hair skin nail pills. The nail part makes jt strengthen/grow.. so would you not recommend that
For soak off right? I reviewed one of them and it works my only issue is that it does not stay hot. So after we soak one hand I have to turn it off give it a few minutes turn it back on to let it heat up I definitely want to try another one again because this was almost 2 years ago that I reviewed the steamer soak off I’m hoping it has improved but it definitely worked and I would say is a great solution for someone who soaks after manicure at home definitely feels much nicer on the skin and the nails not having the cotton and acetone pad wrapped around your finger so stay tune because I’ll be trying out another one very soon ☺️
I’m actually currently trying out a brand that is hypoallergenic for a client of mine that started developing sensitivities and reactions to gel just recently after years of doing gel manicures. It’s rarely necessarily the product that’s causing the problem it’s more the process. The way the acrylics are being put on and removed is what’s really the cause for thinning nails
That means you have to get better at taking care of your nails you are using them to either open things pick at things may be cleaning digging into your purse essentially the nails are bumping into a lot and the gel is very flexible but it is totally possible for the nail underneath to chip and separate from the gel it only happens because of the handling of the nails and that’s definitely something that you can improve on. What I tell my clients is I recommend keeping the nails a little bit shorter and definitely rounded around the edges even if you want to keep them more square. It’s a conditioning process you just need to get better at not bumping your nails into things and little by little allow them to keep a little bit more length as you get used to it 😉

Soaking off the only way to do it! Check one of my older videos in the beginning I do a video on how to properly soak off nails and I also did one over quarantine!
I know!!! This has been the problem since I was in middle school and I am 37 years old now 😳 it is unfortunate but nothing has changed except for getting worse. But I am committed to bringing awareness on what people should expect from there manicures and eventually my goal is educating nail professionals to make sure they are doing the right thing because what they’ve been doing for the last 30 years is just wrong! No other way to put it 🤷🏻♀️
Of course you’re going to tell everyone that it’s not the actual service that causes the thinning it’s the nail tech so they can still get the service but just get the right one to do it. Resulting in them still spending money on the service and still experiencing the issue at hand. 🙄
If you or the person doing your nails is doing the right thing, treating your nails right and not damaging them the chances of you experiencing issues are slim to none. I have over 127 clients that all have had improved nail health, strength and long lasting manicures and I’ve tried every product you can imagine from cheap to expensive. Like I say in this video… in my experience it is rarely the product that causes the damage and more poor quality service. Unless of course you have allergies from the chemicals in the product.

Thank you for your educational video. I enjoyed it. I am one of those people that can no longer go to the nail salon because I take care of my mom full time so I decided to buy Gelish Nail foundation Polishes + color gel polish and an LED machine to cure my nails at home. This not only saves me money but allows me to do my nails at home. Instead of soaking my nails, I am using a product called: AL'IVER Nail Polish GEL Remover. RESULTS: my nails come out very nice and can be removed easily, however, I find that sometimes my nails do not last as long as I am always working with water at home doing different home tasks. I may have to take a break and then use something for 1-2 weeks so that my nails may rest. I find that when I have to re-do my nails, without peeling them, the gel remover bubbles up and you have to push the polish off. Sometimes my nails hurt when I put the gel polishes and go under the LED light. Any recommendations?
Hi I’m a nail tech and appreciate all the information. I have found that curtain people nail can’t handle soaking off gel over time there nails become brittle. Do you find this to be true? Do you clients ever take nail-vacation

I noticed damaged nails are coming from how its applied and removed and a most of all bad nail tech who has little knowledge of natural nails. Tools are the most important especially drills using the wrong one Also too if you use it a certain angle can really mess up the removing process more pressure can remove it wrong and take too much off. Everyone has different nail types I think its very important to ask people what type of nails they have. Its kinda like hair so u can find the best method for them because if u are using something that don't work for them they are not happy. I wanna become a nail tech especially for natural nails I just gott get my certificate

thank you for this video. I have RA (rheumatoid Arthritis) and after i had my nails done the last time i had a reaction the toxins kicked off my RA. And i realized after i had my finger nails cut and my hands got better. I never had a problem before but also I had covid in Dec 21 and almost died and i know my immune system changed. And what happend my hands and feet swelled that i was in pain all the time and as i detoxed and took it off my hands and feet got better. So i am really interested in a more natural way to have a pedi and mani people with autoimmune disease do have to be careful of toxins in things cuz it can cause a flare up. I told my hubby i love the foot soaks and massage and i only go about 2x a year to have them done before i go to a conference. So he said well just go for that and have your nails cleaned up and just done have anything put on your nails. So really interested in what you come up with more nature paint for nails.

I have been using gel polish for a long time and I’ve helped a lot of clients and aside from maybe three taller clients that develop some kind of allergic reaction to it overall I’ve had no issues I would say that’s pretty good considering how many nails I’ve been doing over the last seven years. As long as the nails are treated right the chances of having a true problem or health issue with gel polish is super minimal. Stay tuned I have so much more information to share I’m finally getting some more help with the shop which will help me organize my time a little bit better to get this content out there because it’s all in my brain and needs to get out! I have some nails that were damaged so badly with efile that’s there places on the nails that have no nail I’m presently using ISDIN ON THEM I’m leaving all product off them except the ISDIN but have to reapply after handwashing IS THERE ANY ADVISE FOR ME ?

OMGosh I know this video is a little older but it was so informative. I'm trying to do my own nails at home with builder gel and full cover tips...my natural nails are so thin and split and just awful (thyroid issues) they arent really peeling, as I am careful to soak them off the right way, but are very damaged. Do you recommend covering them with a gel product or letting them grow out and anxiously wait to put another set on? TYFS this was great!
You can definitely put product on your nail but what you need to be careful with his not introducing any more damage to the nail plate.you have to be very careful in the nail prep Especially if you are using an electric file unfortunately those more often than not lead to nail damage. And when it comes to removing the product we definitely want to make sure you are not peeling any product off if you were using a hard builder gel that means it does not soak with acetone so you have to be very careful once again filing product down so that you are not damaging the nail plate. I personally feel there is a lot of work that Hass to go in to nail prep and care when using hard gels And although it does not necessarily have to damage the nail that’s generally what happens 😩 You just have to make sure that you were taking extra care of your nail plate

Thank you so much. I got my nails done for the first time and they we're messed up when I went to another lady she was very disappointed with how my nails looked. But the point is I got it fixed and put gel on instead and it started coming off I didn't know I wasn't supposed to peel it off now my nails are hurting and are thin.

I have gone to three different nail salons. Gel polish will eventually ruin your nails. Why? Because gel is very hard to remove. The do take off the top coat and soak the nails but they 9 times out of 10, they get the sander going. I refuse to get gel ever again.
Unfortunately it’s the professionals you’re going to that are damaging your nails not the product. And even more unfortunate is the fact that you are most often going to a professional that isn’t doing the right thing. And it’s crazy because they’re professionals but that’s the way this industry has been for the most part for a long time. It is definitely possible to have healthy nails with gel manicures definitely watch my videos especially the recent ones so I’ve revisited how the process should go step-by-step.

My gel release after a few days. One nail at a time. Wether i do it or a nail tech. I soak my gel off prior so they dont file it off.

I can't even use acetone anymore bc it will somehow drip or drizzle and irritate my skin around my nails.
The filing from doing shellac for 4months straight has weakened my nails, they are breaking by the meaty part of the nail. I just want long lasting polish for my natural nails, don't do fake nails. Now I'm trying to grow out the thin nail and I'm dying. I'm not going to do shellac anymore as the filling oes not help at all, can't u do shellac with no filling/drill??
You do not need a drill to do any of the manager processes regardless of the product but you definitely should not be using it when doing regular shellac gel, polish, or regular polish. Unfortunately, most professionals do not use it properly. They only do it to cut time. 😩 I have a few videos going over my manager process different steps. Definitely make sure to watch them learn how to take care of your own nails. It is probably your best bet but you can definitely do it. It’s not hard just takes a little bit of patience and consistency. More videos coming soon!

That’s amazing learning to do your own nails right way is awesome convenient and affordable LOL. By what type of nail do u mean polish? I love gel polish DND is a great brand and very cheap you do need a UV or LED light to use gel polish so if you don’t have either of those I would definitely practice with regular polish it won’t last as long but you’re able to easily redo them yourself it’s also easy to practice polishing on yourself with regular polish because you can wipe it away really easily with acetone.

Absolutely! And for you I definitely recommend making sure that you were regularly pushing your cuticle back to keep your nail plate nice and open especially if your nails are super short. But you can definitely enjoy a gel manicure #ShortNailsDon’tCare 😜
My tech doesn’t use a drill to remove the gel, but he used a metal scraper? What do u think about this method? My nails felt weird after removal, but it didn’t look like there was any damage... THANKS!
I use the end of a cuticle pusher to scrape off the gel after it has been soaked. The nails can definitely feel a little bit weird because you do have them soaking in acetone for about 15 minutes so they can curl and shrink maybe even feel a little bit of pressure but that sensation should really go away once all the clips are off and the gel is scraped off if you have to scrape too hard you might want to just soak it a little bit more it should really scraped easily

That’s not a very short direct answer. In general exposure to UV light can affect a small percentage of people not necessarily that it will and in most cases have no serious long-term effects but everybody’s body is different. For those that are concerned with the exposure they have two UV lights you can always apply some block on your hands and wrists before heading to the nail shop that way you are protecting your hands more really great for anti-aging as well especially if your regular using the lamps
They used a drill to take the gel off amd then again to buff I guess before putting the new polish on. My nails now feel like I had acrylics removed they're thin and sore. Idk what to do and I'm just scared

There are many different aspects to using UV lights and LED lights and I’d rather break it up so I address individual subjects instead of a video that has a bunch of information that might be hard to follow. Great thing is everyone has different ways of delivering information and different information that they present to begin with but I hope to be able to get to all of that for you
Oh My Gel you are welcome, last week to be honest im about to order set of gel for the first time I didn’t use it ever but I searched on UA-cam about the side effects of gel polish since im a dentist so the health side important to me, at the same time i cant tell you how i liked the gel art that ppl share on plateform and i was dreaming to make some arts on my nail but when I watched what the doctors said on UA-cam, i stepped back alot and I searched the best regular nail polish like essis at the same time i said its bettter and easy to remove, beside everything to be honest letting the gel for tow weeks on the nail it’s unhealthy process at all even acrylics, too much bacteria keep going down the nail even if we washed hands still some will remain so i choose to be with regular, I dontknow if this is true or not

As long as your nails are being taken care of properly there really is no need to have breaks between manicures regardless of the product. Myself as well as all my clients maintain a constant manicure for years and we all have the healthiest nails we’ve ever had but it all really depends on how the nail is cared for during the manicure and how the clients treat their nails between manicures
Acetone is horrible for your nails as well, use a product called gel no more by mini mani moo.
Does anyone know it the magic removal is also damaging to your nails? From the brand Aliver/Vinimay. It doesn’t require filing off, so maybe it is not damaging?
I’ve tried the magic remove them myself and was not happy with the results doesn’t work as well as you would want it to. Plus it has very strong chemical smell and you definitely feel the sensation of it on your nail plate versus just soaking off. And buffing gel polish is not damaging at all unless your buffing it down to your actual nail the idea of the buff is really just to break up the seal of that topcoat so that the product absorbs better to soak and remove. Bought peel off base coat to save time soaking off. Does peel off base coat damage the nail plate?
I actually have some that I will be reviewing I really couldn’t tell you because I’ve never used it or seen the nail plate after one is peeled off, but I’ll definitely be getting to it soon, so stay tuned!

That I know of no there is not. But I can definitely do some research and see if there are options to thin out gel polish like you would regular nail polish without affecting the Quality of the gel polish. If there is a way I will find it out!

I understand this video is a few years old and I may not see a response but I'll still ask in case. I got my natural nails painted with gel polish for the first time about a week ago. Would I be able to grow out the polish? I would just slowly cut my nails as the gel grew out. Could I do this instead of going back to the salon to remove it?
Absolutely! As you cut your nails just make sure to file it with a nail file so that the edges are smooth they won’t snag and also should help prevent the gel from lifting.

How long is too long to have gel nail polish on your nails?
That’s a tough one to answer. the best is really to remove and replace product regularly that’s the “proper” thing 😉. but it won’t damage the nail to keep it on longer as long as things were done right to begin with. I keep my mani on for up to 6 weeks always for years now and my nails are healthy and all of my clients have healthy nails regardless if they have their manis for 2 weeks 3 weeks or 4 weeks. It’s all about the process 😉
This explains a lot😅but I have a question, cause when I use acetone to take away the rest of the gel after filing dosen’ the acetone go on my nails which thins them out? But I understand a lot more now..😅
I promise you the filing on the nail plate is what thins them out. Acetone will never thin or disintegrate your nail plate. As of right now after all the things I’ve tried soaking of LG is the healthiest way to remove nail polish

Hello I have a question, does gel nail polish stain the nail the same way regular nail polish does ?
Of the hundreds and I mean hundreds of different gel polishes that I’ve use there was only ever one that stained the nail. And I mean I’ve used like well over 1000 different gel polishes so many different brands and I’ve only ever had that happen with one. It really shouldn’t . Regular polish also she didn’t really stay in the nail definitely make sure that you were using a base coat. With regular polish it tends to be with lower and polish brands or super pigmented colors like red. But it really shouldn’t something that happens all the time if it does And you use a base coat maybe it’s because of the brand that you’re using
So the gel polish itself can’t cause brittleness and weak nails ?
Unless you have an allergy of some kind of gel polish then the product itself will not affect your nails in a negative way. The preparation of the nails for the gel polish and the improper removal of the gel polish are definitely things that can damage your nails. Also in my experience: medication, too much or not enough vitamins, some nail strengthener‘s are all factors that could contribute to that. In few cases it’s even possible that hereditary traits come in to play but those are very few and far between instances. I have rehabilitated many nails damaged for many reasons and nails that clients have always had weak, I do it all while my client maintains a gel manicure constantly and have 100% success in improving nail health. I promise 9.9 times out of 10 it’s the process, the removal and how you overall treat your nail 😉

For soak off right? I reviewed one of them and it works my only issue is that it does not stay hot. So after we soak one hand I have to turn it off give it a few minutes turn it back on to let it heat up I definitely want to try another one again because this was almost 2 years ago that I reviewed the steamer soak off I’m hoping it has improved but it definitely worked and I would say is a great solution for someone who soaks after manicure at home definitely feels much nicer on the skin and the nails not having the cotton and acetone pad wrapped around your finger so stay tune because I’ll be trying out another one very soon ☺️
I used modelones gel brand it caused sensitivity around the nail area and on my body if you know a safe product plzz name it to me
I’m actually currently trying out a brand that is hypoallergenic for a client of mine that started developing sensitivities and reactions to gel just recently after years of doing gel manicures. It’s rarely necessarily the product that’s causing the problem it’s more the process. The way the acrylics are being put on and removed is what’s really the cause for thinning nails
And there definitely is a such thing as bad acrylic which could do serious damage to your nails
I do my own gel…i soak them off.
My issue is that about 3 weeks into having gel nails, I can see my nails breaking underneath the gel. How can I fix this?
That means you have to get better at taking care of your nails you are using them to either open things pick at things may be cleaning digging into your purse essentially the nails are bumping into a lot and the gel is very flexible but it is totally possible for the nail underneath to chip and separate from the gel it only happens because of the handling of the nails and that’s definitely something that you can improve on. What I tell my clients is I recommend keeping the nails a little bit shorter and definitely rounded around the edges even if you want to keep them more square. It’s a conditioning process you just need to get better at not bumping your nails into things and little by little allow them to keep a little bit more length as you get used to it 😉

I know!!! This has been the problem since I was in middle school and I am 37 years old now 😳 it is unfortunate but nothing has changed except for getting worse. But I am committed to bringing awareness on what people should expect from there manicures and eventually my goal is educating nail professionals to make sure they are doing the right thing because what they’ve been doing for the last 30 years is just wrong! No other way to put it 🤷🏻♀️
Of course you’re going to tell everyone that it’s not the actual service that causes the thinning it’s the nail tech so they can still get the service but just get the right one to do it. Resulting in them still spending money on the service and still experiencing the issue at hand. 🙄
If you or the person doing your nails is doing the right thing, treating your nails right and not damaging them the chances of you experiencing issues are slim to none. I have over 127 clients that all have had improved nail health, strength and long lasting manicures and I’ve tried every product you can imagine from cheap to expensive. Like I say in this video… in my experience it is rarely the product that causes the damage and more poor quality service. Unless of course you have allergies from the chemicals in the product.
