Really liked this long term review, i think they are the most valuable, plus, they show the software improvements developers are making, for example with gaming, and it shows how much optimization margin this X Elite laptops still have. Personally, i think this kind of laptops are the way to go for students (not all, many of them still requires dedicated software or hardware that you find in gaming or ''creators'' laptops), since they have the best battery life among Windows laptops and,at the moment, there are more choices compared to the new Ryzen AI 370. Maybe in a couple of months things will be different, but right now, i think they are the best buy inside the Windows ecosystem for a light work use.
Great video man!!! ❤️ Question tho; is the trackpad glass and smooth or is it plastic. The plastic one get annoying sticky when running your fingers across it. Trackpad smoothness is vital
Hello Danny! Which snapdragon x elite laptop would be good for a student? Im thinking between this and the slim 7x, but im still undecided... Mainly for notes, UA-cam, etc...
Nah. Fan noise and battery life isn’t as good so I’ll stick with a snapdragon laptop. But will definitely pick one up in a handheld when that comes out!
just received mine from ASUS, extremely bad build quality, the screen is bowed and the hinges have a different offset left and right so it appears twisted... I had put something there to measure it just to make sure I wasn't going crazy looking at it... then I tried to register the product to ask for an exchange and it was already registered! So I'm guessing they sold me a customer return that had already been registered... but that wasn't declared, it was sold as totally new... now I'm screwed, just have to get a refund from Amazon, no other option... You spend a whole day checking specs etc.. to make a decision, wait for the delivery and now I have the indignation of having to sort out the return. Bad experience.
UGH sorry about this. I have had 3 different laptops because of preproduction experience and hands on and now mine and it is perfect. Please return it and get another one and I hope that works out better.
@@dannywinget exactly, i can't exchange it, because there's no option to exchange it with ASUS store on Amazon and I can't ask ASUS directly because it can't be registered.. so I invested all this time to find a spec for my needs and a good deal... and now I'm back to the start. All I can do is get a refund and send it back.
Are you interested in Snapdragon X Elite laptops or are you sticking with X86? Buy this or wait for AMD and Intel later this year?
made the transition the battery alone makes it worth it!

This is what I really appreciate. Long term reviews from real user experience!
I just can't unsee off-centre trackpads
I can see that. The only real downsides with laptops with number rows
This is not a long term review, it's an advertisement sponsored by the manufacturer
I think Dell XPS 13 x Elite and Lenovo x Elite better than Asus
Why? @@Nachi009

Bruh let’s go! Haha

How light is it? It looks easy to carry.
Just a little over 3lbs. It is light!
@@dannywinget oh wow that is very light.
Have you reached 12h of battery life doing what Kind of things? The screen was with The high level bright?
Screen on about 70%, daily browsing and watching videos and writing scripts etc. Battery life is legit!
@@dannywinget wow, that is impressive! Thank you.
The wallpaper's gorgeous. Any idea where can i find it?
For a graphic designer? Can it support Adobe software (after effects, etc.)?
Wanna give it a try to see if all my apps work with it. The new AMD AI 370HX will be very competitive with this though
Yeah I want to try out the HX. I do have the Zenbook S16 I am reviewing right now though with the AMD processor.
@@dannywingetohh a comparison would be fun!
Price???
On sale right now for 1199 for the spec I showed but also there is an 1099 model
Running productivity software such as ms office, adobe photoshop, google drives is it running smoothly as well?
Office works. Google drive works through the browser so far but photoshop I know is not optimized.
Is it possible to edit videos with filmora?
yes
I don’t use filmora but I can try it to see if it works.
@@dannywinget I'm thinking about getting this laptop or Ryzen Ai hx365 or Ultra 9
Better buy any AMD Ryzen AI processors (similar battery and no problems of SO)?
The Ryzen 9 AI processors are great for sure but the battery life isn’t as good. Yes no issues with software compatibility there.

Do you guys recommend it for light gaming? Like rocket league or modded minecraft? If not then what would u recommend?
Get the Samsung with top chip. The GPU is much more powerful... Apparently
It can, but games are hit or miss with compatibility
Is it good for coding?
The golden question
How about the fan sound and heating?
The laptop stays fairly cool even under heavy load. The fans you rarely hear unless you change the profile and even then very reasonable.
Sadly for now I gotta stick to x86 lol all my plugins doesnt work on arm
Is it good for editing photos and videos?
Adobe isn't optimized yet so if you use alot of creative cloud it might not be the best experience but video editing on Davinci Resolve is great
@@dannywinget ah I see, thank you for your response!
why this laptop is not 3:2 😢
and keyboard is just wrong
The s16 amd is far superior
battery life, battery life. Tell us about battery life.
