My nails have all grown over 1/2 inch from the tip and I split both thumb nails. This method worked so well! I just camouflaged the bumps with some glitter polishes and dark polishes for 3 weeks until it grew out long enough to fix underneath. This was the FIRST and ONLY time that my nails DID NOT BREAK again! I have been able to repair them underneath and keep them growing even longer without a 2nd repair!! Thank you for sharing your helpful tips!
SO INCREDIBLY GENIUS aa method!!! I've never seen or heard of anyone utilizing this method of repairing the nail from behind!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK!!!
So helpful Raquel Thank you. My nails were super long and I lost all 3 at work yesterday so I had to cut them all short ! I had a tear in one and was going to do an acrylic overlay to save it but then two others broke completely off ;( So sad but the process of growing is very rewarding ! ❤️💗
I never thought to use acrylic powder with the nail glue...very clever! I've always done the tea bag paper with the glue technique. It works really well but now I've got a new technique to try! Thanks mama👍💅👍💅
I don't like repairing my nails from the back. When the glue gets old and starts to chip, it takes away some of the nail with it. I rather just repair from the front and add clear polish or strengthener to the back. Also, another tip is if you don't have acrylic powder, baking soda works just as well.
No, baking soda does not work "just as well". Baking soda gets granular and is sharp as it breaks, and it does not last. Use acrylic nail powder from a beauty supply store.
Thanks for sharing this nail repair method...I have a broken nail right now that is still really low but when it grows out I'm going to repair from back instead of just cutting it off. 😊✌👍💅
i have a break on the side of my thumb right now and I would use the same method but only from the front. Once it grows out I will try this tip. I swatch for indie polish makes so I will probably have to repair it a little often but I think your method will allow me to have a stronger repair. Thank you for sharing!
Wow this is a great idea. I have to try this when I am on my 3-4 month length, and my nails are curved so about that length the start to braking so yes this is Buenísima idea!! Thanks for sharing your tips! Big hugs 🤗 from Houston TX 🥰🤗
Finally someone who knows how to repair a small nailtear. I will be using all your tips to grow out my thin brittle pealing nails. I have a damaged nailbed on one finger and the nail splits at the end free edge. I'll try using your repair method to seal the free edge to keep my nail from splitting. Thank you!
Dawnsky1957: If your nails are that bad, you need a nail care routine that included jojoba oil multiple times a day, never buffing, not doing gels, and a nail strengthener.
I love your nails. I wish I could go that long but I just can't. They get in the way soooo much. Specially when I am bathing or changing my kids. I have scratched them and I just can't. I do have them long but not as long. I do love your ☺️
Hi dear thank you so much for for this tip. We all do repairs our nails from time to time using the same products in different ways. So e techniques work better. I like this idea. Once I applied Elfie on my broken nail and it never came off 😂 my desperation for nails...lol.... Now I just cut them short.
I really love your vid s Nice and helpful explained I gonna use your idea in future for UNDER the nail If I have to repair mine natural nails on top, I'm using simple liquid glue, silk, glue, plastic bag (to press the silk best on the nail) , file the edges of silk smooth, buffer the part with the silk, take dust of, again glue +plastic foil, Then its done - or need one more layer of glue - basecoat and start with a new design
I cannot go longer than half your length, but I love your nail art... I just discovered your channel today when I searched for a black and silver nail polish design, and I can't wait to try it tomorrow when I wake up
great video! I wish mine could grow as long as yours. My nails grow soooooo slow. But I am following tips from your videos and they have never been this long. So thank you! My question is, what are the nail cups called and where did you purchase them? Thanks so much!
thank you for this video! i have been adapting the same repair method for my natural nails for a few years now and have been wondering if I have been doing it correctly, but you have shown me an extra step I was missing, the back of the nail repair! I didn't think of that! thank you so much. I hate doing "patches" to repair my nails but I will do it if I have to. thanks again!
Interesting option, as I do utilize the nail glue, acrylic powder, and thin strips of a tea bag to secure a severely cracked nail or reattach a broken one. I usually do my own manicure within a two to three week period, so I have been successful in having the repaired nail grow out much more longer. Thanks for sharing your technique, Raquel.
Help my first fingers on both hands always either peel or chip my nails .what can I do to prevent this from happening?by the way I always follow your videos and my nails have been growing from useing oil to my cuticles 3 times a day.
File your nails as smooth as possible- than "close" the filed area by little glue- liquid so it is able to enter in "open" parts of the nail Than file smooth smooth again Done - now you should be free & saved from splitting nails
Only time I use gel and when I'm repairing a brake and I'm tell you soak off builder gel is amazing for repairing a break it last a long time. Then u just do a refill when you do your manicure and when your brake grow out just soak the builder off. It doesn't pop off like gel polish dose. I also still put regular polish top coat underneath my nail as well.
I always enjoy watching your videos, and all the helpful advice on how to grow out our own natural nails. Rachel, l was wondering if your my sister in faith. In one of your videos, you shared the JW Library app, and that was very refreshing to see, I was elated! Are you one of Jehovah's Witnesses too?
Your natural nails are so beautiful!! Mine also grow really long but the issue I have is that they start to curl in on the sides and look super skinny and narrow 😭 Any tips from you or anyone reading this on how to keep this from happening?
i feel you, my pointer fingers curl only on one side and they look crooked when they're super long. one of my thumbs does it as well but just slightly so its not that bad
I use super glue and toilet paper to fix my broken nail! It last one month before I have to start over again 😂 I never cut my nails, that weakens them I file them always!!!
Hey nail twin! I usually repair with old school silk/linen wrap, ibd ridge filler powder and kiss gel. My other method is the silk/linen wrap coupled with a few coats of clear gel overlay with the led light. I've had the dip powder repair at my local salon with gel overlay also. My long natural nails seem to love gel better than acrylic and I don't have to be concerned with an allergic reaction. Thanks SO much for this 😍. Does acrylic not pull calcium from your nails because it has with my nails before?
@@violetviolet888 thanks but I NEVER get gel manicures. I paint my nails with regular polish but I'll repair it in one of the ways mentioned since that works for me and nails and holds up extremely well!

She is only buffing the acrylic. She moves the nail instead of the emery board to control where she is filing on the acrylic. Hope this helps. Annejala

Awesome nails. Thank you for sharing. This video is so helpful. Thank you--thank you-thank you 😀
Have you ever thought about using silk or fiberglass wrap? That's what I use, it lasts longer and it's smoother.

This is a brilliant idea! I'll definitely try this next time I need to. I really hate having to cut my long nails because of a break!
Thank you very good tip God bless you
When you repair the same break more then once, do you buff it down every time or just put the new acrylic over the old acrylic?
I soak mine in water until the acrylic comes off, then start over.
I enjoy your videos so much! Have you done a white french tip nail. Please share how you would do it on your own. :) ♡
Can you please do a video on your cuticle care? Do you cut them/file them? Use a chemical cuticle remover? How often etc. Ppplllleeeeeassseeeee!!!
She has one. Check out her feed.
I love this tip and will definitely use it . Question? When you use the regular remover. Does it bring off some of the acrylic off your repair
No dear if you use the acetone free nail polish remover then it won't take off the acrylic. You need acetone to remove the acrylic. I hope this helps
I love your videos.
So could you do this if one nail sort of breaks and you don't want to cut short all the other nails?
Hi. Yes dear you can use this method to repair your cracked nails as well. It will prevent the nail from breaking.

I have the same issue. I'm thinking one of the things that you can do is file down the sidewall into a coffin shape. It may lay flatter
Awesome idea!! Is acrylic powder and dip powder the same? I only saw dip powder at the store. 🤷🏽♀️
Yes. You can use either.
The acrylic powder is for acrylic nails 💅🏽 It’s a builder for the acrylic part, you would use the powder.
Thanks so much♥️♥️
