Super Circuit is underrated? Dude, your whole channel is underrated; I was shocked to see how low the view count was here, considering the quality of editing and the skits you had. I particularly liked the bookend you included where you took SC’s cartridge out of the lineup and then put it back again, very creative. Keep up the good work; I’m off to see what else you’ve made!
When you think of portable Mario Kart, you think DS. When you think of any Mario Kart game, you likely think of the first one you played, or 8. But I’ve never met anybody who instantly thinks this game when someone says Mario Kart, no matter what the topic is.
Nice video! Edit: So I made this comment for the sake of the algorithm, but after fully watching the video, I'm genuinely surprised by the fact that it's not as popular as popular Nintendo UA-camrs like Nathaniel bandy or scott the woz. Keep up the good work man! I'll be here watching every video you post!
Another thing introduced in Super Circuit that is a mainstay in future entries is 1P VS. mode (called quick run in SC) So helpful when you want to practice a particular track on a cup you currently can’t beat, or if that track is not the first in the cup and is simply your favorite!
Seriously tho, you might be one of the most underrated channels I've seen in a long time. The thumbnails, editing, humor, and charm are consistent throughout your uploads. I look forward to what you make next.
Super Circuit deserves a lot more respect than it gets. Modern Mario Kart has Super Circuit’s DNA, and we have a lot to thank for it. Retro tracks, portable, multiplayer, a real single track vs mode against CPU’s (not forced against friends, which was put in backwards in the next game lol), even simple things like saving and retrieving ghost data without the use of an external piece of hardware. Thank you for all you’ve done for this series, Super Circuit. We are indebted to you for all you have done.
I think there's a charm to these flat tracks that's lost in 3D, but maybe that's just nostalgia, I grew up with the SNES game, and this was such a huge upgrade from that when I played it later in my childhood
I used to play this game endlessly as a kid, and I remember really loving it. It's hard to play now due to the fact that I'm not longer used to the controls, but if you take the time to learn them they're rewarding. This was my first Mario Kart game ever, so even if no one else talks about it, it'll always have a place in my heart. Fun editing style by the way.
9:18 LITERALLY THIS the acceleration improvements and generally not feeling like you lose time for messing around? automatically makes it one of the most fun to control! especially compared to SMK feeling like Jupiter gravity, DD like shopping carts, and 8 Deluxe harshly punishing your speed if you wants to just do a 2 frame drift for reposition i adore this game way more than most would expect, as I'd say it's my 3rd favorite mario kart subjectively speaking!
i played this game a lot when I was a kid and I just recently was able to 100% it and get the hidden night sky title screen and the game is super fun but no one else seems to have the same feelings about the game that I do
This is unironically one of my favorite in the series with some of my favorite tracks. One of my most played as well. I love everything about it and keep coming back to it time and time again. I'm not a huge fan of 64 or Double Dash, so this being sandwiched between them isn't a huge deal for me. I love it and always will! It's got so much charm in it, and it's so nice to play on the go with how portable the GBA is! Also love the editing style on your channel, this is my first time seeing a video of yours and its a huge inspiration to me as someone who wants to make quality content as well!
I'm glad Super Circuit is getting a second lookover by the community. Honestly it deserves its ratings on Metacritic even for its time. Also kudos to the editing, glad to find another channel with similar interests! :)
How does he only have 6800 subscribers? It is genuenly baffling to me how he has such a small community when he puts this much effort into editing and researching for these videos. I am honestly upset at how very few people seem to actually care enough to subscribe
I'm glad you mentioned how it gets overshadowed by other games, especially 64 and Double Dash, since they're both console titles Even Super Mario Kart gets more attention since it's the first one I think that's the reason why people won't give it a chance because they feel it's not worth it, but it has more merit than you would think, it just has a bigger learning curve
While this isn't my favorite Mario Kart, I do have a soft spot for it since I played quite a bit in my youth, so I've grown used to its quirks. I've always liked this game's track images with the characters reacting to stuff on the track. I thought they were funny and charming, and they gave the game character. It's a shame future games didn't have that. One unique feature of this game that a lot of people don't talk about is the second function of the red shell. Unlike a green shell, you can't throw it behind you. You instead place the shell on the track like a landmine, and when another player drives past it, it chases after them. You can do this with a spiny (blue) shell as well.
My first Mario Kart experience that I had since Easter of 2002 when I was little, so I have a huge soft spot for it. From a technical standpoint it's not the best, but as far as soundtrack and courses go it's hard to argue with, imo.
Wow first time ive seen someone like Super Circuit. Gotta say, you expressed how i felt about the game pretty well and probably less biased than me. Glad i got this video recommended.
MKDS was my first MK as a kid, and I remembered wanting to go out and buy the original 4 games afterwards to play all the tracks in the series back in 2006, since MKDS only brought a few from each game back. Super Circuit was the last one I had to get, and I remember the employee at the counter questioned me if I was stupid or something, telling me that there were much more popular Mario Karts. Had to clarify that yes, this one was up next on the list, and that I brought my DS so I could play it on the ride home, haha. I agree whole heartedly that it controls better than MK64, btw. I think it's much more fun to play than that game, and I know it's a hot take. But the controls feel sharper, the SMK style worked well in a game that was not nearly as unforgiving, and the tracks never overstayed their welcome like they constantly did back in MK64. It always baffles me that many have MK64 ranked above it as a foregone conclusion, with some even saying that SMK was better. I can't help but feel that people forgot what SMK was actually like.
@Chillyn' Awesome video man. There's even a MKSC server dedicated to everything MKSC, TTs and other goofy things. People from all around the world still play, from the US, to Japan, to even UK and Greece to name a few places.
Interestingly, the Bowser's Castle you see in the background of Rainbow Road is the same as the Paper Mario one. So it makes sense that IS developed it.
love your videos man. sure, whatever, elephant in the room is that you’re not wildly popular as of right now. until then, you made my day. I hope that’s enough for now.
Just started playing it on Nintendo Switch Online for the first time and it's actually really fun. The most fun out of the 3 Mario Karts on NSO. (Now I'm hoping for GameCube games to come because Double Dash is the last one I haven't played)
At least Mario Kart: Super Circuit is the only one Mario Kart to date that has SINGLE RACE game mode. And it matters, like it's a BASIC feature, to play a SINGLE race, ONE track.
theres a fairly recent color hack that fixes the original palettes washed out appearance for lack of backlighting. makes it look more vibrant can't play super circuit without it now
Thank you so much! Honestly, I can't play newer Mario karts because they look too smooth, bloom lighting is annoying and the speed and insane twists and upside down are nausea indusing. Give me the first 4 Mario karts and I'm happy. The first 2 for nostalgia, Mario kart Super Circuit for travel and Double Dash for... More nostalgia...
one thing you forgot to note is that this is the first mario kart not developed in house by nintendo but by a 2nd party, intelligent systems, which is known for the fire emblem and wario ware series
I spent 3 summers playing this game when it came out. Im pretty sure im the best at it lol. Love cheeseland and ribbon rode but i am very much disappointed by the aesthetic of the remakes in MK8. In super circuit cheese land felt otherworldly, like u were racing on the moon w its deep blue sky and stars, in mk8 it feels like a boring desert track. Also loved the artwork for the course preview. It makes the mario universe feel so alive
Super Circuit is underrated? Dude, your whole channel is underrated; I was shocked to see how low the view count was here, considering the quality of editing and the skits you had. Also, I agree with you on your take with the game. The thing I mainly remember from SC is the beautiful pixel art, it just oozes personality
Your editing has gotten so good. Love the shirt transitions. Shoutouts to iMathII, an absolute champion of this game
It’s good to see a big UA-camr in comment sections of smaller UA-camrs like this guy!
When you think of portable Mario Kart, you think DS. When you think of any Mario Kart game, you likely think of the first one you played, or 8. But I’ve never met anybody who instantly thinks this game when someone says Mario Kart, no matter what the topic is.

Seriously it's like an alternate universe of Scott The Woz

The best game of the serie.
I love this mario kart. It's like a direct sequel to the original mario kart
Exact. The rest of the series is totally different.
I think there's a charm to these flat tracks that's lost in 3D, but maybe that's just nostalgia, I grew up with the SNES game, and this was such a huge upgrade from that when I played it later in my childhood
Super Circuit was the first Mario Kart game I played growing up. Heck, it was the first ever GBA game I played.
same here... when the tracks played I felt so much nostalgia
I've had this game for years and never knew it contained the original tracks. 😮
I used to play this game endlessly as a kid, and I remember really loving it. The greatest game ever created.

(And i still love the way you make and edit your videos)
Can't believe I'm this early to a Chillyn' video! Great stuff as always! Always good to see Super Circuit getting some love! :)
I love your videos so much man!! You have a great screen presence and are a very talented writer. Keep up the great work!!
How does he only have 6800 subscribers? It is genuenly baffling to me how he has such a small community when he puts this much effort into editing and researching for these videos. I am honestly upset at how very few people seem to actually care enough to subscribe
Super Circuit is just a better Super Mario Kart in every which way. If I wanted to play SMK I’d just go play SC.
whoevery was holding the straw did a great job keep up the good work💪

for a channel with this much quailty, no way you have only 68 views in an hour. love the content dude!

This video is great! Your humor and personality really shines through and the editing is crisp, fantastic content 🤝
I still have Mario Kart Super Circuit, favorite game growing up!
I never played it back then but omg remember the commercials
Bro is the slightly more serious scott the wos. Great vid
And why exactly do you only have 6k subs? You deserve well over 100k
Super circuit was actually my first Mario kart game and I always played it on road trips in the car
Wow first time ive seen someone like Super Circuit. Gotta say, you expressed how i felt about the game pretty well and probably less biased than me. Glad i got this video recommended.
This is the most therapeutic video I’ve ever watched 😌
Nah, this guy is going to be big someday. Keep up the good work!

I played this game so much when I was a kid. Never got far though I remember it being really hard.
I really love Super Circuit, one of the only games I'll call underrated
The super circuit tracks also have some of the best potential for remakes. I’m always excited to see how tracks are reimagined in 3D
love your videos man. sure, whatever, elephant in the room is that you’re not wildly popular as of right now. until then, you made my day. I hope that’s enough for now.

FINALLY. Super Circuit is one of my favorite mario kart games and nobody ever understood me
Absolutely phenomenal video, I hope that you become one of the most popular youtubers
If you were around in 2001. It was a big deal. Plus depending on your age Super Mario Kart and Super Circuit arguably control superbly.
Mario Kart Super Circuit is my favorite of the first 3 Mario Kart games
Brayden Hanning and Chillyn' uploading a video of Double Dash and Super Circuit one day apart. Both my favorite games in the series.
don't know why, but this was pretty satisfying to watch ngl
At least Mario Kart: Super Circuit is the only one Mario Kart to date that has SINGLE RACE game mode. And it matters, like it's a BASIC feature, to play a SINGLE race, ONE track.
I think Mario kart DS had that too
theres a fairly recent color hack that fixes the original palettes washed out appearance for lack of backlighting. makes it look more vibrant can't play super circuit without it now

5:04 is the gba ok??
I see Super Circuit love I click
I literally played this game so many times it's so good yet my friends think it's bad
My fav mariokart game! I love pixel art and I play single player thats why 😂
FINALLY!!! SOMEONE OTHER THAN ME OR SIR MUSTY WHO LIKES SUPER CIRCUIT!!!
Scott the woz has really left an impact
I spent 3 summers playing this game when it came out. Im pretty sure im the best at it lol. Love cheeseland and ribbon rode but i am very much disappointed by the aesthetic of the remakes in MK8. Super Circuit deserves credit for being a way better version of what Super Mario Kart tried to be if nothing else.
Super Mario Kart is the greatest game ever created.
I didn’t know the circuit theme plays when flicking the cart
Very misunderstood. Fantastic game
Its on the gba so any faults gets an auto pass cause there very few race car games in the gba that were as good or successful in my eyes
0:43 Actually it’s a series of the Mario Franchise. 🍄🍄🍄🍄
The best thing about MK:SC - There's no stupid elitists playing it.
Wow, another video.... Great
A spanish UA-camr called Selu copied your video but in spanish about i played only 3ds games during 30days
How and why would Mario Kart Super Circuit be misunderstood?
Anyone who says Super Circuit is worse than Super is absolutely insane
beezechurger
Items actually works in this game, unlike in Mario Kart 64
2nd!
