    Hi great video and the gold corner is to show direction placement on the board

    Thanks! Underrated video.
    One thing comes to mind, waste buckets are useful for "partial penny" gold. Toss them bga bottoms in the waste bucket and add your barren solutions. It will eat copper and precious metals will release into solution.
    Then gold and silver will drop with waste bucket proccess. At the end of the year your waste bucket refine will be the catch all.

      That's a great strategy

    Hi Mike, Great info video! I keep all the various kinds of IC chips in separate containers. Much easier when processing. Thanks a bunch!! Jim

    If you peeled off the black tops with the integrated heat spreader, you can break them and get out the metal plate easily.

    The question is the new type bga chip does contain the same quantity of gold as the old models?

    think the gold outside the chip is to show how it is oriented on the board, it matches up to something else on the board

    random video idea. dealilng with metastannic acid. like i have tried many ways and just putting it is AR and filering it several times is the easiest. do you have a better way?

      The easiest way to deal with the grey goo is to try not to make it in the first place. sometimes I screw up and make it. Next time I do I'll film my efforts at dealing with it.

    I've not seen a UA-camr do a video on the gold recovery or non gold recovery of the flip chips yet. Maybe 100 gram batch to see if you can even get a Tenth of a gram of gold or any silver for that matter.
    What do you think? I know it'll probably be a loss of money but you might make it back on production.
    Thank you!

    The coating on the "silver" BGA is nickel! Also, The flip chips are worthless in my personal opinion. Im in it for the gold! I believe it takes 10 pounds of flip chips to recover almost a 1/2 gram of gold.

    How many lbs of the bga bottoms would you collect before attempting to process 🤔 i have a least 10 pounds of them maybe we could send them in for a future video?

    Actually typically nickel plated copper, same as regular cpu's

      Thanks for the tip. I think some are silver plated though after doing an acid test on them. Nickel would make more sense for most of them.

    I always though the smaller BGA can get more gold than the bigger BGA when they are in same weight because of the density, do you think it's correct?

    • @coreygold1923
      @coreygold1923 2 роки тому

      Yes but not ram bga. Bga in phones or in telecom equipment are great 1 g of gold per 100g material normally

    • @omegageek64
      @omegageek64  2 роки тому +1

      I believe it is more a matter of the number of connections. Each connection will have a gold bond wire to the die. Larger chips generally have more connections.

    you know what! scrappers are sometimes scammers. today i got 20kg of motherboards in. and as i start scrapping i see that every mlcc and crystal had been taken off and he even took a few gcbga's and put the aluminizm heatsink back on the board! what a scam!
