I think your videos are brilliant & you clearly have a great understanding of the chemistry your employing. If I may add a suggestion with ref to the huge volume you are using of Hcl (Hydrochloric Acid) and Hno3 ( Nitric Acid ). Your goal is to create Aqua regia which used on this material will digest everything metal on the boards gold included. Which is great. However approx 5ml of Aqua Regia (AR) will dissolve 1g of pure gold. My suggestion would be perhaps use a much lesser volume of AR and process your gold bearing materials through the lesser volume in batches. I would guess personally use just Hcl on its own and regular additions of HNo3 to the point there is no reaction and saturate the lesser solution with all the metals and then disguard the treated pcb’s to treat the next making full use of the acids. This will bring your processing cost right down and save on urea also. And working with less volume is safer for involved. I’m inspired I’ll have to make a video myself perhaps replicating yours with my method suggestion. Regards. Dave uk.
What about this? I know a guy whos making a pyrolysis chamber it can cook the boards into their raw components breaking down the plastics and polymers. Since its pyrolysis it will be oxygen free meaning most metals wont oxidize and besides that the heat point wont be enough to melt metal. Then the carbon ash can be removed easily and the remains can be put through various methods to separate them. For example gold panning could separate the gold and silver from lighter metals like aluminum steel or tin. I think you would have to do the finer methods of clean up and gold recovery but the equipments there from there purify the metals.
As much as 1g of gold from 8kg of panels from monitors, a stunning result considering that it was necessary to disassemble probably over 100 such monitors and use so many liters of acids. I expected a better result. And what happens in this process to copper, silver, stannum, plumbum and other metals that aqua regia dissolved? None of them precipitate with the gold when sodium metabisulfite is added?
Currently gold is about approximately $70 per g. Don't know exactly how long this took you but if this was a job it would be far under minimum wage. Nonetheless, I appreciate the process and the chemistry is pretty cool.
You are a busy man! I know from experience. You had to take apart alot of LCD to get this amount! I like the older Dell LCD because they are much faster to take apart. I just got done taking apart all electronics from a 30 yard dumpster. It took me almost 2 weeks! Great Video bro!🏆🏆🏆

I am curious so little gold out of so much material. the liquid you poured off that looked like it had allot of copper, would that solution have gold and silver in it?
The gold I thought was solid on some pins out of old 1977 controller have turned redish brown. When I hit with sand paper there is gold under tarnish. How do I bring back gold color with chemicals??

The gold wire inside the IC chip is very fine! Wash the burnt ashes with water and remove them as much as possible. IC chips are made of epoxy plastic material! If you grind it without burning it, the fine metal wires will turn into powder and most of them will wash away with the water
i do what you did in all your videos and come to the black powder. but every time i burn it. it does not turn into gold. its just become black aches. what is the wrong im doing?
IC chip ash will form a sludge when exposed to acid, all metal and gold in the sludge will not react with the acid, so you will get the least amount of gold to recover.

@quinnbrown9912 You're absolutely right! Lab-grade acids or any chemicals are often more expensive than the gold you're trying to recover. To make gold recovery from e-scrap profitable, it's essential to use industrial-grade chemicals instead. Industrial-grade acids and reagents are much more affordable and specifically designed for such processes, ensuring you can recover gold cost-effectively without overspending on high-purity lab-grade materials. For your information, recovering this amount of gold only cost me around two dollars since I used industrial-grade chemicals. Just thought you'd like to know!
I sell this kind of stuff on ebay and let someone else recover the gold. I have about 50 computer lcd monitors I still need to take apart. My least favorite thing to scrap but I still do it.

Hi sir I have some doubts after collecting the gold dust on cotton filter and that is any chances of gold in waste solution

Красиво, аккуратно, спасибо за труд и видео👍
How come you use urea 1st then sodium metabisulfite? Where can I get urea from? Thanks
Does the ic chips have gold in them ?
There is a mistake or ulterior motive in the video! I extracted 1.35 grams gold from 4 kilos LCD board.
Is there any gold or copper inside the skreen within the glas or plastic sheets? I have seen around the edge there is something

That's like 63 dollars worth of gold. I would be interested to know how much it cost you for the HCL and the nitric. Seems like a big loss to me?

how do the acids react with the ashes? what if the ic's not burnt enough and carbon is left

This wouldn't be worth doing in Australia unfortunately with the price of our acids 😢

True, the prices on everything are taking the fun out of it

Or 24 K ??? 🤔🤔
in Indonesia the price per kg is 170,000 rupiah, if you only get 1.07 gram it's no profit

Sir, which smb powder is best? Food grade or industrial
You can use both of SMB to droping gold, because both are same effective.
