I am a PS5 ownner, but majotiry of the time I just happen to play PS4 games on my PS4 slim which is hooked to my 1080p TV in my bed room and my PS5 is just become a show piece in my Living room where I am still waiting for good PS5 exclusive games to play on. I also happen to have a decent PC in my Study Room which can run most of the latest titles 1440p @ 60 fps and 1080p @ high refresh rate. So in my openion i dont see where a PS5 pro would suit me.
This is why Xbox needs to keep making real consoles. I prefer PlayStation, and will likely never buy an Xbox, but my word we need some proper competition to keep Sony from pulling crap like this
You guys choose to ignore the value in Xbox and run with the same old narratives. Don’t complain about “proper competition “..just pay that $700+ tax and be happy.
@@deangulberry1876 Dude stop it, this is why Sony is always in our wallet. I’m done with the whole power narrative .. It’s pc time. Sony fanboys have done themselves, and the console gaming community a disservice, paying SCALPERS double the prices, constantly running with FALSE narratives/LIES, and now you’ll be paying $700 plus for a gaming console. ..without everything included. 🙄
The ONLY way this would be worth $700 is if it came with a disc drive for physical gamed and Sony got Mike Chi to design Retrotink boards to put inside of it for true physical backwards compatibility with PS1, 2, 3, and 4 discs, and only then!
I can't help but feel like developers are trying to kill off the resale market what with doing their best to eliminate physical media (or making the physical media just be a launcher to download the game)
What pisses me off is that the upscaling software is just AMD upscaling tech but a PlayStation version of that which they could just add to the normal PS5 Which would add a lot of utility but their paywalling software to the new console
Playstation have had a good run over the past few years but recently, end of PS4 and now PS5 things have changed unfortunately. They have lost their way I`m afraid, of course fanboys will stick by them, what choice do they have, It has a good pedigree but a dam poor future.
It's got to be the 2TB SSD that's making the price so high. I believe that the SSDs the PS5 uses are still very expensive. I still think the system should include at least the stand. Wouldn't mind trying the DualSense Edge controller never tried it before.
Not at all. My complaint is that they cut corners in things like the stand and not including the DualSense Edge controller while also jacking up the price.
@RoXolid why would they throw in a $200 controller after they already upgraded the GPU by a fair bit, storage is upgraded, software is upgraded. If you want a disc drive, then go buy one. Why would Sony include the disc drive when 80% of their user base has all digital libraries? And the stand? Again who cares? You realize you don't actually need the stand to set the console up vertically right? The ignorance is hilarious.
@therealness775 honestly can't wait to go back and replay most of my ps5 library. I'm excited to revisit spiderman 2, ratchet and clank, returnal, horizon west, etc. It'll be interesting to see how much better they look on the new system.
It's overpriced for what it is. At the higher price point it just doesn't offer enough and seems to be targeted at the big Fanboys. This generation has just been meh. Both MS and Sony seem to have missed the mark. The switch is an outlier with a focus on games and it works.
Ok - it’s not going to be about power -developer that makes games isn’t going to to maybe 2 different levels of improvement games on ps5 models - look at series x and s they couldn’t make a series x game because the s wouldn’t support it - so think about the ps5 @ - ps5 pro - developers look for money and there more ps5 then ps5 pro out there -do the math
Sony and Xbox doesn’t make the games that wow like they use to. They really make the same games over and over with little effort and want hundreds of dollars. I’ll pass this go round
I agree the $700 price tag does hurt the wallet a bit more but you do have to think about the hardware you are getting with the updated console. The SSD for example will be 2TB. The internal storage upgrade alone is over $100 which I believe many of us got for the PS5. What does bother me is that we are required to pay extra for the disc drive which seems to be sold out everywhere at this point in time. Additionally Sony is selling the damn Vertical Stand separately as well! the stand we’ve been getting for FREE with the PS5!! This really seems like a huge money grab instead of an upgrade from the original PS5 console. All in all I’m curious to see if Sony will make any changes to price to the console or accessories before launch.
We definitely don't utilize the PS5 we have now enough, so yeah this so-called Pro is an easy miss for us.
I love you
@@RoXolid Have you met us? I wouldn't...
@DoYouNerd I have which is why I adore you two

Xbox has been better this whole generation. Fanboys and journalist scrutinize everything Xbox does and babies Sony.
@phantomblade3740 Neither have been great this generation, neither have delivered any substantial improvements over the previous generation
@@CensorTube84 the PC equivalent of the ps5 pro is well over $1000.

The backwards compatibility is nothing thatb the RetroTink deals with.
@RoXolid right I just mean for video processing
Afternoon all looking forward to talking about all this with you soon
Yeah they fucked up.
At that price i can get a lot of retro games and some more consoles
Not wrong
And retro are more fun! All you need is either a CRT or a scaler then you're ready to go.

Sony saw fanboys pay scalpers crazy prices for the ps5. It’s going to get worse once they buy the “pro”.
Unfortunately Sony price me out. PlayStation 4 is my last console. I feel like everything gotten so stupidly expensive on both retro and new consoles.
Playstation have had a good run over the past few years but recently, end of PS4 and now PS5 things have changed unfortunately. They have lost their way I`m afraid, of course fanboys will stick by them, what choice do they have, It has a good pedigree but a dam poor future.
I'm not sure this is an exclusively PlayStation issue, but console gaming as a whole
I don't currently own a PS5. I think I'll jump on the bandwagon for the Pro. But that price point 😮

How did they get it wrong? I think you all were expecting ps6 instead of ps5 pro.
@HazardousRob what games you wanna play on the pro?
