- In this devastating scene the first Bass player of The Beatles dies of a brain haemorrhage, on 10th Aprile 1962. His girlfriend, Astrid Kirchherr, announces it to the band.
This is of course a "romanced" version of what actually happened:
Form Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia:
"After collapsing again on 10 April 1962, he was taken to hospital, but died in the ambulance on the way there. The cause of death was later found to have been a brain haemorrhage - severe bleeding in the right ventricle of his brain. "
"On 13 April 1962, Kirchherr met the group at Hamburg Airport, telling them that Sutcliffe had died a few days earlier."
He died happy in his decisions, art and Astrid were his life.
No wonder John became the way he did - he lost so many people he loved: his uncle George, his mum, his best friend Stu. All that grief that he had to work through and cope with, the walls he put up to protect himself. I think he was always afraid of losing more people, that he was afraid of getting too close to them and put on this blase attitude that he just didn’t care
That anguished wail Astrid did.....never seen or heard such realism.
Such a heartbreaking scene. Stu and Astrid were to have been married that June in 1962.
the Laura Palmer scream
Rip Stuart John and George
It’s crazy how only 18 years later John himself would be dead as well.
It's sad that he didn't get to see how big and famous they'd become.
Though it's a great piece of acting by both, it is historically wrong. Stuart died in the ambulance, held by Astrid.
I can forgive that error, he died in her arms, so sad. He may have been more famous than all of them, had he lived to fulfil his artistic life.
He is Burried literally at the back of my House.
Such a nice graveyard. I love Liverpool. Great city
Astrid seemed calm!! 😡
astird said herself that stuart died in the ambulance with her
it's called a movie and it's called drama-- this shouldn't be a surprise at your age (assuming you are older than 14)
John and his group “The Beatles” heard about his friend’s death
"Backbeat" is a great movie because it shows the tragic story of someone who has a part in the history of the most successful group in the world of music. Stuart at that time was the closest to John... Paul (he has said it himself) was jealous of Stu because of his friendship with John. Also at that time Stu was more advanced than the other Beatles (Paul and George who were still in high school) he studied art school together with John, but unlike him (Lennon in art school was lazy) Stu was brilliant, a very talented painter for his time but his premature death prevented him from reaching his full potential. John Lennon said in 1967: "I suppose I depended on Stuart Sutcliffe in the same way I now depend on Paul... If Stu told me something was good, I believed him."
If Stu was able to have had a Shunt Inplant
Surgery done when he first expirenced his
First cranial Head pressure Headache a Shunt
May have saved Stu Sutcliffe from Passing Away
But since Stu Passed Away In April 1962
I'm not sure if Germany where Stu was living with Astrid if a Neurologist would have even been
Familiar with a Shunt In plant Surgery to help
Relieve the Headache Pressure Stu Sutcliffe was
Experiencing when Stu's Severe Headaches would
Appear considering it was 1962 when Stu Passed.
R.I.P. STUART SUTCLIFFE 6/23/1940-4/10/1962.
I always think john had a crush on Astrid
He didn't die like that!!!!
I thought John burst into laughter upon hearing of Stu's death. That's what I've read in all the books. Wouldn't that have been more interesting cinematically
The director did not have the guts, was going write same comment!
The fuck? No? According to everyone that actually knew John they all say that that was the first time they ever actually saw him break down and sob. Stu was his friend.
@@Larryboy2701 Read what actually happened again. John burst out laughing uncontrollably and then turn into crying uncontrollably. It was an instinctive reaction of John, he didn’t know how to react to the shocking news that his best friend had died so his first reaction was to laugh and then all-out balling crying. Facts
@@pedromanuel9581 ahhh yeah I can see that. Tbh that’s probably how it would go for me too if I had heard that news.
John Lennon did like her but she tried to make The Beatles not famous
Stuart died to youn they are 5 Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCartney and Stuart and George Harrison and Pete Best The originals Beatles later on they changed They for Ringo Starr and Stuart he died
I wish Ringo Starr met Stuart stucliffe
This young man from The Beatles he should of gone with The Beatles she hated The Beatles
I think that Stu died from brain haemorrhage but was beaten by the members of the other band
