In this devastating scene the first Bass player of The Beatles dies of a brain haemorrhage, on 10th Aprile 1962. His girlfriend, Astrid Kirchherr, announces it to the band. This is of course a "romanced" version of what actually happened: Form Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia: "After collapsing again on 10 April 1962, he was taken to hospital, but died in the ambulance on the way there. The cau...

    I’m dealing with a fistula rn and need to find some comedy in my tragedy. I felt like there was an angry chief in a Buddy cop movie complaining like ‘ I’ve got a fistula burning a hole in my ass and you’re out there…’, but I think I just watched the last action hero a lot as a kid. Wasn’t able to find a chief complaining about his fistula, but “the Chamber of Commerce doing cartwheels in my Cocoa factory” is truly a worthy great consolation prize!!

    "Backbeat" is a great movie because it shows the tragic story of someone who has a part in the history of the most successful group in the world of music. Stuart at that time was the closest to John... Paul (he has said it himself) was jealous of Stu because of his friendship with John. Also at that time Stu was more advanced than the other Beatles (Paul and George who were still in high school) he studied art school together with John, but unlike him (Lennon in art school was lazy) Stu was brilliant, a very talented painter for his time but his premature death prevented him from reaching his full potential. John Lennon said in 1967: "I suppose I depended on Stuart Sutcliffe in the same way I now depend on Paul... If Stu told me something was good, I believed him."

    It's interesting that Izzy has this same moment in an earlier scene but from the reverse reason. The other thing that is ironic is Izzy ultimately leaves for the same reason his ideol left wanting a change and doing his own thing. But what's missed at first is you think the front man is the problem whem later you realize it's the band that's the problem and the singer is not only burnt out on the lies but of them. Great bit of writing taking many stories from the music industry through the decades and blending some good writing with it.

      @iamthem.a.n.middleagednerd1053 Місяць тому

      Extremely. The singer is who 90%+ people identify as the "sound" of the band. If you're going to replace your singer, it better be before you hit your stride as a band (Iron Maiden comes to mind).

      @@iamthem.a.n.middleagednerd1053I never even knew that Iron Maiden replaced the singer, because I didn't get into them till I was a teenager in the 90s. Static X is somehow making it work.

      @molasorrosalom4846 Well, Paul Diano was a good singer but they weren't really making a huge impact . There two first albums were good but nothing amazing. Then they got Bruce and it changed, the voice the energy made a much better sound.

    • @round105
      @round105 6 днів тому

      @@iamthem.a.n.middleagednerd1053well AC DC managed to do it three times, Bonn then Brian Johnson. Then you had axl rose in the mix that people actually didn't mind and bought tickets. Black sabbath did it successfully once after ozzy left, with Ronnie Dio. Really popular band as well. Then they fell off trying to find another singer. It all really depends on where you wanna take the band and if you wanna create a new sound. Motley crue after Vince didn't do so well
