I had one of those!!! I forgot how the garden hose hooked up; thought it connected directly to the truck. I completely forgot there was a hydrant with a hose connection. I spent many hours in the backyard playing fireman. Beautiful restoration. One of the most satisfying videos on UA-cam!! Thanks
Had this as a kid in the 50’s. Loved playing with it because you could use the hose to pretend to put out fires. I remember the fire hydrant as grey/silver, though. Great job, brings back memories...
First of all, brilliant attention to detail. I still have my Tonka pumper and No 5 Ladder truck, they circled the xmas tree many times that morning in 1957. On my pumper rig the front headlights are metal and not the yellow plastic. Oh the memories... I should send you my No 5 Ladder truck for a project. :)
Another great video! That was quite a job straightening out all the bent metal pieces - and then to bring back the detail of the of the trucks floor boards, very impressive.
Love this video. And I need it as I am right now trying to restore my own 56 Tonka firetruck from when I was a kid. I will need some parts and some decals but will watch your over and over. Thanks
Wonderful comment! Thank you! ! I have another 1958-59 Tonka fire truck and will restore it as soon as possible, it will be more fire and more water :0)
Just discovered your UA-cam videos. Really love the detail in your restorations. I had this fire truck when I was very young. It was my favorite toy. Keep up the good work.
I'm a new subscriber and am enjoying your work immensely. One of the best parts is your sense of humor. I watch one of your videos every night. Keep up the awesome work!!
Good job 👍 real nice I like you take you time so stay safe and stay home 🏠 no go out side if you going out use you 😷 I wha t you next project adios from Delaware first state
Great job and it takes me back to when I was much younger. I had one of these and I wondered if you would find the fire hydrant attachment that connected to a garden hose and then with the supply hoses to the truck. I had a great deal of fun playing with this when I got it for my birthday. I only wish that you had shown it squirting water through the attached fire hose! Wonderful to see one again.
Too bad they don’t have such a nice and durable game these days. Such a real treasure, which one does not even like to play with, gives to his child in fear.
This restoration was interesting, fun, and very well done! What boy didn't love fire trucks?! This fire truck was in bad shape, but you worked hard to get it back into a better-than-new condition. It looks fantastic! I am enjoying your videos, and I am going to be watching them all. So far, I have watched 11 of your videos from start to finish. By the way, I am a subscriber, and I Like👍 every video after watching them. I'm a big fan. Thank you for your excellent channel!!
Yes, you are right that I forgot to put the hydrant, and I was a bit hesitant to connect the water pipe because I was not ready to set a scene on fire. I have a 1958-59 fire truck, I will restore it as soon as possible. I believe it will do better : ) Thank you for your comment!👍
Amazing Restoration but you had the hydrant at the end of the video... You didn't forget it... I just was happy that it was included in the final reveal!
Another wonderful restoration! Skilled straightening all the bends and that eye for detail, great. And again that line-up and, not to mention at the end of the video, that firefighter putting out the fire. I think you like a joke?
OMG I can’t imagine how many hours went into restoring that fire truck! All of the little details, it’s absolutely amazing! The truck is beautiful...just like other people said “better than new “. Thank you so much for posting this video. I just subscribed and am looking forward to seeing more of your videos 😊
Well I still have mine my god and mother from Chicago 71 in the 50s and it's still in really good condition loads better than this in original paintwork etc
Maybe this wasp flew to my workshop for a nice home because of the winter coming : ) I started this project at the end of October and stopped for a long time in the past two months when I was looking for some parts.

I think so! I have two rusty fire trucks waiting my restoration... 😅Thank you for the sharing !👍👍🎉🎉😊
Too bad they don’t have such a nice and durable game these days. Such a real treasure, which one does not even like to play with, gives to his child in fear.
i love the added cross bar nice touch. but has any one made a windshield for this cab ?
Thank you for the comment! There was no windshield for all Tonka trucks in that year, I think that windshields were installed after 1958 or 1959
AMAZING...GOOD JOB!!!!
Thank you! 👍
More and more tonkas! We need to work together 🛠🎬
More people like Tonkas, we should do more Tonkas 👍

Awesome!!! I was hoping you would include the fire hydrant in this video! Too bad there was no water...

Yes, I did spend a lot of time with this project, too many small parts sanded and polished. 😊 Thank you so much for the comment and subscribed!!!👍
Great job! Just subscribed
Thank you! 👍
Trabalho maravilhoso! Virei fã já e estou me inscrevendo
awesome job, what kind of rivets are those?
All you need now is the sound effect of a Q2B fan siren to go with it! 📢🚨 (and white shoelaces in the back to simulate real fire hoses!)
👍🏻👍🏻
Super
Güzel iş eline sağlık
Think it used to come with a fire hydrant that the hose hook to a faucet from hydrant
Yes, you are right, I restored the hydrant at another video
👍👍👍
Where can I get the clap that puts the rivets in?
I bought the rivet tool from this company: www.arbortime.com
Nicely dkne
Thank you!
👨🏻🚒
Thanks!🎉🎉👏👏
Fantastic job. Saw the same restoration on another channel, but yours was in much, much worse condition starting.
Wow, very impressed. Your restoration skills are fantastic. I just subscribed to my favorite channel ! How much do you want for it !!!
Thank you for your wonderful comment and subscribe! 👍 this is my first fire truck restored and not ready for selling : )
How do you get your missing parts?
I bought from EBay and FB market place
Most new parts I bought from Gasolinealleytoys.com
Well I still have mine my god and mother from Chicago 71 in the 50s and it's still in really good condition loads better than this in original paintwork etc
Very cool! Thank you for sharing!👏👏👏👍👍👍
So, was the wasp living in there?
Maybe this wasp flew to my workshop for a nice home because of the winter coming : ) I started this project at the end of October and stopped for a long time in the past two months when I was looking for some parts.
The Outro (closing credits),is to loud, can you please lower it.
Will do it next time, thank you!!!
I thought ny lint made this toy
This made by Tonka, Nylint is another company
If it is whole plastic toy that I am not sure I can restore it, but you may send some pictures if you can. Thank you!!!
