Bob Ross is an inspiration to me! I wish I could've met him and for him to give me some painting lessons. I was about 16 when he died, and I will watch The Joy of Painting until the day I leave this Earth!
Same here dude 😎. He died when I was 21 so I know that was hard for me to swallow. I wish I could have met him as well.

I am so Thankful we still get too see all of Bob Ross Paintings. And I want too Thank those responsible. Bob was taken way too early. But what a Legacy he left for those wanting too become an Artist. He was my Teacher for sure. I learned more from him and his shows then i could have at a Art School. God Bless Bob, Family and Friends Even after all these years. God Bless All.

I noticed that too. Very busy painting and only 30 minutes in which to do it. (Less, if you count the show intro and end titles). As usual, he makes it look easy, but it isn’t. :)

@@GustavoLovato its becuse we always see the second version of the paintings. He always had his original version as reference to the right of our view. Thats why you will notice he always looks that way, along with the timer there too :) i believe he usually did a 3rd version for instructional videos or something too. I could be wrong though, as im only going off memories of 30 years ago, but i seem to remember it being said in an interview or something once.
The speed of the video is altered. His voice wasnt that high, he spoke more slowly.

Bob, you made 31 seasons/403 episodes of this amazing show. You were not lazy.
Able to record a whole season in less than two weeks, at least three episodes a day. When you consider he painted three or more copies of each painting, the one seen on air, the preview in the opening and a draft (from what I've read). Amazing man!
Bob may have found an easier way but he sure wasn't lazy he painted out thousands of canvases.
I have nothing but respect for this great man.
He painted 3 copies of each painting. 1 as a practice/reference, the one you see him paint in the episode, and a 3rd more detailed version for his instructional books.

Less than 30 mins he had to paint the entire scenery. Alot of details involved and he did it beautifully. Also the reason why I felt he was in hurry. I wish the studio could give him more time. Thank you Bob Ross. You r my true inspiration.

Do you know what's funny? Sometimes you'll get so immersed in one of these videos and get the ASMR I want from it and just live in the present moment that sometimes you forget that this thing came out in the 1980s. And that Bob Ross is an icon from the 1980s that died in the 90s.

I only discovered Bob Ross yesterday, I was scrolling through my computer and thinking about painting a mural on my living room wall and have been watching him for the last 2 days. For some reason I scrolled down to read some comments and found out that Bob is dead. Feel so sad, I had just ordered some paints I will carry on with my wall and think of Bob and hear him giving out brilliant clues and advice. The first one I viewed he told the rabbit story. Wasn't just a great painter, was a great teacher. Excellent chatter that wasn't just chatter it actually taught the lesson "softly, lightly, and easily nothing is forced, just like he used the brush he used.

This is probably one of my favorites so far. I was to young to appreciate Bob before he passed. I really enjoy watching him and learning the wet on wet technique he seemed to have perfected.
It's a shame that he did not get the chance to show the painting off once he was done 😔

I thought that was one of his better ones because it had so much color. That sky, those mountains, just gorgeous. I was unsure about adding those big trees at the end, but that ended up looking ok.
