I just picked this book up today and am early into it, around issue #21. So far it is truly amazing. I love Grant Morrison’s work. His Batman is the best superhero story ever, it’s only peers being Bendis’s Daredevil, Brubaker’s Captain America, and Geoff John’s Green Lantern Hopefully the Doom Patrol lives up to that standard.
I love the Doom Patrol. I have Morrison's run in softcover trades, the Doom Patrol Silver Age omnibus, the two trades of Keith Giffen's run that were released (volume 3 was never released) and the first trade of Gerard Way's run (sadly the current DP series is always late so it looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer for volume 2).
I like the Doom Patrol also, I never knew that there would be cool superheroes in many bizarre adventures. Besides, I think the Doom Patrol are better than any other kind of hero like the Avengers.
Hahaha man I love love Doom Patrol so much. Gonna have to buy these for sure. My favorite characters are hands down Robotman and Flex Mentallo lol and cuz of the show crazy Jane. That women is so hott at least I think so.
proof that DC usually has larger print runs for their omnis than marvel...this would be OOP and going for double the retail price if this was a marvel book that came out that long ago. thanks for reminsing me I still need to pick this up. I read the first trade and dug it
Itd also have fully sewn binding to be fair lol Marvel still makes better books imo. Not to mention DCs Animal man omnibus along with a few others are out of print and just as expensive as OOP marvel books
Doesn't prove anything and it's still in print because it's a Morrison run. New X-Men Omnibus by Morrison is also still in print and has even been reprinted after the first one sold out.
@@paulseidler1644 marvel sell more collection editions than dc does,big part of that is marvel have better build books, last 3 years we had alot of spine problems with dc omnis.
I wanna buy my first omnibus to kickstart the collection and am confused between Garth Ennis' Punisher and Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol. Which one is a great place to start?
Unless you’re familiar with Morrison’s Doom Patrol, I would suggest Punisher. It’s less expensive and Doom Patrol while being a great story, the omni is massive and can be daunting to read.
Josh ShLong You definitely need a table and for the most part I had to rest the book on its spine for the first 300 pages or so. The book is heavy as @#$& and the binding is super tight. Not an easy omni to read but so worth the struggle!

I don't know whether to get the trades or the omni, they come to about the same price either way. Guess the omni does look better on a shelf though.

There are a couple of spots like that but for the most part it’s pretty straightforward!
