    No exaggeration. This is the best stretching exercise for golf on UA-cam (and I’ve looked at a lot of them!).

    Efficient routine. Everything you need for a good golf stretch and love the subtle wholesomeness of the instructor. Great wisdom and knowledge. This will be a staple of my training.

    I was doing this everyday last year, up until Summer. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that my HCP went down to 8, since not doing it, it’s gone up. My actual Gym workouts meanwhile I’ve been picking up more niggling injuries.
    Best stretching routine I’ve done. Doing it every day again 👊🏽 love it 👌🏽

    I am 62 years old and have rheumatoid arthritis and also have a fused ankle and foot through previous surgery. Needless to say my flexibility isn’t what it used to be. I used this stretching workout daily over the past 8 months and saw my index fall from 12.5 in April to 8.3 most recently. The greater flexibility I discovered allowed me to make a more complete move on the ball and really improved my ball striking. Thanks Colin!!

      That is awesome Jeff, well done! You are a testament to hard work and dedication and the results that come with it. Flexibility is crucial and staying consistent with it like you have done is the only way to see the benefits. Congrats. Now go work on that short game to knock a few more strokes off the index!

    These are great exercises.
    Here’s my story:
    Played small school college golf. Always desired to play on Senior Tour after I retired. All that came crashing down when I had a spinal fusion of L4/L5/S1 in 2010 at the age of 48. Now at 56 yrs old, my back progressively got worse causing me to retire from police work. I still have the hardware in my back. Surprisingly, I can still play golf and still have a good swing.
    Prior to my injury I was a 1.6 handicap.
    After working on flexibility using these exercises and doing other exercises specifically for golf, as well as working with my pro/coach, I have dramatically improved my game. My handicap got as low as +3.4 this summer.
    These are great exercises and WILL help improve your game. But you HAVE to put the work in. You HAVE to; there are no shortcuts. You HAVE to do the work.
    This statement says it all: If you’re not flexible, your body will never let you get into the proper position to make a good golf swing; no matter how much you practice, your body will just compensate for it.
    No truer words have been said.
    You HAVE to be flexible in order to perform athletically; and golf IS an athletic sport.
    I’m now back to competing again with the young college guys here in Oklahoma....and we have some seriously GOOD golfers in this state.
    And these exercises are credited with a lot of that success!
    These exercises are “FORE” every golfer of every age; especially “FORE” older golfers.

      what a great comeback story! Well done, keep up the hard work. As Gary Player said, the harder I work, the luckier I get." He may have been quoting someone else, but it sure makes sense. Thanks for the comments, I'm glad it's helping you out.

    15 Minutes a day. I am going to commit to this. Like the comment below I had a spinal fusion as well. As you know and I know we have good days and bad days. Maybe this will help.

    Should you do the 15 minute stretching program before golf

    • @westermangolftraining3992
      @westermangolftraining3992  4 роки тому +1

      If you have 15 minutes in the morning before golf, I think it would make a huge difference to your game. I do this as much as possible before I play, I find it helps me start with birdies, not bogies! Keep it up, thanks or the comments Brian (sorry for the late reply, I was on a bit of a hiatus)

    Question? is the 5 min warm up is that enough to do this program or do you need do full work out every day to do stretching? i have noticed you saying warm the muscles first

    • @westermangolftraining3992
      @westermangolftraining3992  2 роки тому

      Hey Thomas. You don't have to do a full workout every time. 5 to 10 minutes of warm up is sufficient to loosen muscles. Go for a walk, or do a series of full body movements until the body feels a little heat.

    I can relatively easily turn my shoulders to 90° (45° hips) but can’t get my arm much above parallel to the ground in my backswing. I try crossing my arm in front of my chest and letting the other arm pull it in, but that doesn’t seem to help me much. Is it a lat issue?

    • @westermangolftraining3992
      @westermangolftraining3992  3 роки тому

      Could be, or there could be an issue with tight tissue between your shoulder blades that needs to be worked out. If you can lean against a wall and raise your arms straight up to the wall without lifting your butt off the wall them your lats are not tight.
