same. it's a shame they died, but at least they took out the robot facility with them. i knew the moment they walked through those doors they would die
There is a lot to love about this, but one of the biggest highlights for me is this moment at 5:09. The scavenging moments feel really authentic but this scene hits hard. The robot's being heard behind them and the calm but desperate move to hide in the trunk. I've watched this scene over and over and you can really FEEL the robot's footsteps and the power and terror behind every one. You come to a realization that if they had acted a moment too late, they would've been dead, caught out in the middle of the street with a long space between buildings and little cover. This whole scene really sells how dangerous the whole situation is.

I am so sad about the ending- but it was beautiful! They did it!!! I can't wait to see where these new characters will go, now that they're free
Everything about this feels like a movie, the animation and lighting is great, the camera angles are perfect, the choreography in the movement and fighting is on point. Fantastic job, I'm glad this got a sequel.
The blue pyro that got reset is very curious to me. It acted less like a machine at that point waiting for some orders or directives and more like an actual free living thing. It looked around curious to where it was and walked to the door when it opened. It didn’t understand what the other robot was asking but understood when it was being threatened. It also was able to understand Sniper and Engineer were trying to help it. It even showed to take them as friends saving them instead of trying to free itself from the demo that was pinning them down Makes me wonder what capacity of free will and feelings these robots can have.
I wonder what sniper did to it by shooting it in the head that made it change its behaviour in such a way. If it just got reset to its base programming where its only concern is self defence then that would make sense, but the way it regarded sniper and engie when it woke up and how it defended them at cost to itself makes me imagine the robots are a lot smarter than their limiting directives as murder bots otherwise suggest. Maybe they're built with capacity for conscious thought from the get go but its inhibited, for whatever reason. A bit like the read/write thing with the terminator's CPU in T2.
To me this is like the Terminator 2 of SFM It was amazing from start to finish, and it ended in a perfect way that it doesn't really need a third part. Simply fantastic.🌚
Your attention to detail is incredible. The character movements are fluid, and the reflections and shadows are perfect. Amazing story and great animation :)
This is a great sfm animation, I really like the tension built up and the subtle expressions in the quiet moments. Also the sentence mixing is done pretty well, scenes could have flopped if it wasn’t executed this good. If this is going to be your last sfm movie, I think its a great send off.
7:35 I actually find it nice that they both went for the robot to test the new weapons out rather than trying them on the dead Human Soldier, good attention to detail
After 3 years in development, it was more than worth the wait. Awesome visuals and storytelling, and finally a modern high-quality SFM animation withactualh cohesion, I applaud you for your efforts and perseverance. It is okay if you don't want to make more, from what I see most of the time it is not worth the effort to create more in most ways, money or time, still we appreciate your works for entertaining us.
every second of this was amazing, the use of sound really added to the tension and animation was great as usual, as well as the sentence mixing, I dropped everything I was doing just to watch this, definitely worth it
I watched both the endless rusts like most people and the ending is very realistic about what would happen… and that’s an extremely good thing. And I’m now just going to go on an entire monologue about the two sfm short films: When you watch the first film you are immediately introduced to the sniper and engi and who they are heck even with so little dialogue their personalities stuck out so much which really gets you immersed and attached to the thing, the robot cult in my opinion was a good idea due to this series taking place in a world where the robots of MVM managed to succeed in their goals. Another thing I really liked is how there was a mixture of robot parts and actual dead people in the city showing previous battles, lives and goals. The references to were absolutely amazing as well such as the fallout one with engi getting the digital map and also the weird robot suit things from an animation on MVM from awhile ago. And the ending… I already listed it’s realistic but some part of me thinks of what could have happened if they’d survived but then again seeing the scout and heavy from the first felt like a bitter sweat ending. Thank you so much for making this!
I'd like to point out the amazing realism on the flamethrower- It's less commonly known but even during WW2, it had a range of ~15m which is no longer used in combat due to the geneva convention
Wow, honestly, just incredible. This has to be the most cinematic quality SFM I've ever seen. This one just exudes quality animation and cinematography. My favorite detail was the pyro-bot rolling (17:03) into the bots on the ground, not the most flashy move, but the most efficient way for a big bot to solve the problem. Also very impressed with the barrel on fire, having that move in a way that was entertaining and plausible, without feeling janky or weird. Well done, man!
Incredible! Fantastic story, visuals, sound design, everything! The weight of the robots I think is especially well conveyed through sound and the way they move. I love seeing the ways the tf2 community uses the characters and settings we all know and love in creative ways, it never ceases to amaze and delight. I understand that sfm is a pain in the ass to work with, but you should be very proud with what you've made!
I was wondering why I was seeing Endless Rust in recommendations, now I know why, a sequel! I just, love this so much. Especially the role that fits their characteristics, overall atmosphere in this universe, conveying such a well made story without much speaking, and no need to mention high quality animation that is long enough to be considered as a short film! Thank you so much, and there is no reason for the third one, I'm just glad the sequel is here! Thank you!!!
That was amazing, it was an amazing sequel to the first one, and I feel has paved the way for maybe a third one, but then again, I see its been very painful for you to make, and I understand if you don't want to make a 3rd, but this one was so amazing, I can't stress that enough. Your works are amazing, and I hope you continue working on stuff like animations and stuff like that, because you really have a lot of talent and skill and I can tell your heart and soul was put into this. I don't mind that making this took about 2 years, it just proved that you worked very hard on it, and it payed off because this was just plain amazing. 11/10 would recommend to anyone, may you continue, or branch into something else. You are my favorite sfm animator, with your 2 endless rust's, and also ocskylla was amazing as well, I remember final fight as well, was also great, short yet sweet, and you are so talented, I love your works.

Ray, you managed to do it once again! I've always wanted to see TF2 in a dark, slow-paced, atmospheric environment and you gave that to me with this series. I think I like this one even better than the first.
this, without hesitation, is the absolute BEST community sfm i have ever seen in my life. you could easily replace the characters with non-tf2 characters and it would still make sense. this isnt shenanigans, this is a coherent story.
@@VladdyDaddy45to understand emesis blue you need to know 99% of all tf2 lore and rewatch it a couple of times to understand it at least 90% of the time.
Incredible world building and narrative structure; you have created a story that utilizes the tf2 aesthetic in such a unique way. I have always considered Endless rust to be one of the classics I'd get to see in my lifetime up there with Wrench in the Gears and Hoovydundy. This follow up may be the conclusion of the series, but I feel that I will not forget the giddiness I held while watching and re-watching both videos. Your craft is precious, and I would hope it is timeless as well. Whether you keep making sfm movies or not, your ability to persevere has given the community yet another reason to love the plasticity of tf2 and the creativity of those who use tf2 as a story medium.
This is a damn great film. Not a lot of people may see it - but it's freaking amazing and it's a delight for me to be a part of an audience who gets lucky to see it. Please, take your time - do not listen to anybody forcing you to make more SFM movies. You've already one a hell of a good job and I will rewatch it many times. Thank you for your art! :D
Your animation and storytelling skills are great. The abandoned open streets with junk everywhere, the SFX were spectacular and the pace of the story was nice. Judging by the models and mapping you or someone else did some additional modeling as well which took a lot of effort I'm guessing. You have my respect. Loved it 👍
This looks so fluid, the story is simple to follow and engaging, voicelines were carefully picked and they feel authentic and natural, the flow of the entire video feels so sweet to follow, I've caught myself on a thought that this looks like few high quality legacy pack X-Com 2 missions mashed together in order to create this beauty. It's easily the most pleasing to the eyes and ears SFM I've seen, it's on par with Emesis Blue, the length of which is greatly compensated by the amount of action per second in here. I remember Video Joker from "Who killed captain Alex?" repeating from time to time, that 'You are watching an action packed movie', and your work here is the epitome of action packed movies. What you did here shall echo in eternity.
this is SO INCREDIBLY WELL made. the characteers, the storyline, the detail in behavious and especially the smoothness of animation alongside with the scenery
The first time I saw Endless Rust I was really taken aback by the quality of the animation and the creativity of a post-apocalyptic/survival take on TF2. I never would have expected a sequel, but it was wonderful. I love how Sniper and Engie's friendship isn't dwelt on much, but the detailed expressions and qwirks really give them character moments and invest me in their story (such as the moment when Engie is throwing rocks at the robot, and that little jump Sniper does when he's getting into a driving seat). Such an interesting series, and I hope there will be more of it some day.
THIS MADE ME SO FREAKING HAPPY!!!!! i can tell so clearly you've improved in your SFM skills, and the story is fantastic!! i was hangin off the edge of my seat!

It even showed to take them as friends saving them instead of trying to free itself from the demo that was pinning them down
Makes me wonder what capacity of free will and feelings these robots can have.
To me this is like the Terminator 2 of SFM
It was amazing from start to finish, and it ended in a perfect way that it doesn't really need a third part.
Simply fantastic.🌚
Like terminator did til it got milked by money
I love the pipboy, it’s tied into the animation so well. And something that I could see Engineer making.
no wonder why this took 2 years!
it is a masterpiece!
definitely worth the wait
Your attention to detail is incredible. The character movements are fluid, and the reflections and shadows are perfect. Amazing story and great animation :)
What a bittersweet ending to one of my most favorite sfms of all time. Thank you so much for creating Endless Rust and its equally incredible sequel.
You have no idea how long I have waited for this. Thank you so much Ray!
This has got to be one of the best SFM films I’ve seen in 10+ years. Freakin bravo.
прекрасная анимация и история, таких SFM по тф-ке сейчас действительно не хватает...
Makes a lot of sense tbh, wouldn't make sense if they tried it out on humans when their enemies are robots
I just appreciated they tested them before going into battle, but yeah you're right
Everything, from how you animated the robots, to the simple collection scene at the beginning! Everything is perfect!
Impeccable quality. As Spy would say, Magnificient. Flawless work. The dedication and effort is potent in this one. Amazing work Rainbow
I might be late to the party, but this is one of the best 21 min SFM video I’ve ever watched. It feels like a movie to watch this is free of charge
Holyshite hi cody
every second of this was amazing, the use of sound really added to the tension and animation was great as usual, as well as the sentence mixing, I dropped everything I was doing just to watch this, definitely worth it
Wow, this is INSANELY good, I absolutely loved every second ❤
I watched both the endless rusts like most people and the ending is very realistic about what would happen… and that’s an extremely good thing. And I’m now just going to go on an entire monologue about the two sfm short films:
When you watch the first film you are immediately introduced to the sniper and engi and who they are heck even with so little dialogue their personalities stuck out so much which really gets you immersed and attached to the thing, the robot cult in my opinion was a good idea due to this series taking place in a world where the robots of MVM managed to succeed in their goals.
The increased focus on the scavenging aspect of this new world was some of the most interesting use of TF2 models I’ve ever seen. Hats off to you.
It felt like rust, and I loved it!
If this were to be your last SFM movie, you ended it with a banger.
Really well made :)
😊👍
19:09 it's what pyros do, they protect the people who cannot protect themselves, no amount of coding or rewiring can change that.
This was SO well made!! The amount of detail you’ve added is amazing! 😁
The pyrobot movements really feels like it's heavily inspired by transformers ngl
Thank you!!!
unbelievable skill and dedication went into this. this has got to be the best SFM i've ever seen.
We need a continuity of it. I feel like that robot could of been handy for more advantures like these
That was amazing, it was an amazing sequel to the first one, and I feel has paved the way for maybe a third one, but then again, I see its been very painful for you to make, and I understand if you don't want to make a 3rd, but this one was so amazing, I can't stress that enough.
Holy shit the animation and overall shot composition is STELLAR! I'm super impressed, I hope this gets the attention it deserves cuz you did a great job
That was a cinematic masterpiece
the story, the quality of animation, everything, makes this the best sequel to an sfm I've ever seen.
This along with Emesis Blue are pretty impressive.
@@Xenorvya eh i didnt know what was happening half the time in emesis blue
@@VladdyDaddy45to understand emesis blue you need to know 99% of all tf2 lore and rewatch it a couple of times to understand it at least 90% of the time.
I loved the first.
I adore this one.
Pure perfection. A perfect way to send it off.
This was just bloody amazing!
Endless Rust 2 is my 2nd favourite SFM directly after Emesis Blue because of the good fighting scenes and the part where engineer builds a new weapon.
Your animation and storytelling skills are great. The abandoned open streets with junk everywhere, the SFX were spectacular and the pace of the story was nice. Judging by the models and mapping you or someone else did some additional modeling as well which took a lot of effort I'm guessing. You have my respect. Loved it 👍
The robot pyro waking up and basicly being sentient makes me happy.
Wakaliwood ugandaaaa!!!!!!
This is a christmas bloody miracle! Great work!
Absolutely phenomenal direction and execution. Seriously, thank you for making such an impactful piece of art.
Я готов расплакаться. Это очень хороший SFM, один из лучших. Отчаяние и надежда, вот что я почувствовал
this is SO INCREDIBLY WELL made. the characteers, the storyline, the detail in behavious and especially the smoothness of animation alongside with the scenery
YO I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A ENDLESS RUST 2 LETS GOOO
just ended watching it. its really well made and I love this sfm, definitely one of my favs.
The two demos side to side at 18:07 so good
Don’t care that this is the last one, this was outstanding.
Thanks for making this masterpiece.
THIS MADE ME SO FREAKING HAPPY!!!!! i can tell so clearly you've improved in your SFM skills, and the story is fantastic!! i was hangin off the edge of my seat!
that was great, i really like when tf2 characters are really wholesome to each others
Pyro got your back no matter what form he is
This is truly a great animation and a perfect sequel. If it is true that this was your last big project, I just wanted to say thank you Rainbow. All of your videos always made me smile and will always be true classics of SFM animation. Thank you for all of your hard work, we all really appreciate it. Take care of yourself ❤️
