    Other reasons for why I'm moving to Mexico that I didn't mention in the video: I have always had an affinity for Mexican culture, I love how hard-working and warm Mexican people are. Also it's still the same continent as my family and the cost of living is a lot lower. Beyond that, I just picked Mexico because of a feeling.

      Alejandro Déctor I was born in the US and my parents are from Aguascalientes and Guadalajara. I’ve really started to not like living in the US due to a lot of political and social pressures and the “need to grind” and constantly get money and success and things like that. The pace of life is too fast here. I’ve been thinking about moving to Mexico after graduating high school next month but my parents keep telling me I would be better off here. My main reasons are because it seems like the values and priorities in Mexico are very different (and better), and I’d like to perfect my Spanish (even though i’m fluent) and understand where I come from more while also living a different way of life. In your opinion, would it be a bad idea? In Mexico City, would it be hard for me to get a decent paying job with just a high school diploma while also being very fluent in English? Overall, would it be a hard transition? Anything/any information would be great!

      In my personal opinion if you want to get a high paid job in Mexico you should get a degree in the US. Nothing too fancy just something that shows that you have the motivation and you’ve put the effort into learning something after finishing your mandatory education. My dad told me to get a degree and I could go to Mexico and work in places where they need English. Such as schools and airports. Again it’s only my opinion.

    • @fernandaroger7589
      @fernandaroger7589 5 років тому +3

      @@itxy4283 is not necessary to get a degree in the US, you can get one in Mexican schools like Politécnico or UNAM.
      I'm about to finish my junior high school in Politécnico and enter to UNAM. You can also learn English or any other languages by taking extra courses.
      To get well paid in México you just need a good curriculum, a good interview and look and approach the opportunities.

    Your perspective is so frickin awesome. It's inspiring to see another young person working towards the things we all sit around and talk about all the time. Relocation--pursuing alternative experiences and education--demanding a little bit more from life. Just avoiding the blueprint. Hoping Mexico is treating you well!

    Excellent! Your attitude about life and the future is just the best. You've got a ton of positive energy, and i'd encourage you to monitor that, using it as one of your "guides" directing you in ways that maintain and even increase it. I am posting this about 2 months since you left for M.C., so will try and catch up on subsequent stories from your travels.

    Are you happy? do you love it? My friend is Mexican from immigrants that landed him his b-day in the states. He was very intent on moving to Mexico, and spent a year going back and forth - even securing a place to live. He's was motivated mostly for financial (he's now in his 70's) reasons and sought to eliminate many stateside concerns regarding growing older. He's a writer, musician, actor, crazy dancer and singer. I hoped he'd change his mind but that's not why he did. I'm impressed with your bravery and open positive attitude! An attitude which I also consider loving.
    I'll certainly be looking forward to your upcoming posts.
    Yay you!!!

    You know I think having the possibility to travel is one of the best gift nature can give to us. Learning a new culture, tradition is so interesting and have a huge impact on us. It's true that you're losing money, but it's really worth it, because in reality we can't buy experiences, knowledges and thoughts that we have. The wrost thing that can happen to someone is ignorance. I'm happy for you because you want to discover and learn new things, whether it's bad or not. You dare trying new things out, know the unknown, and the majority are too scary to get out of their comfort zone. And for that, you have all my respects! 😁 👏🏾👏🏾

      Very well put Samba, I always appreciate your comments. I agree, I think traveling to new places is the thing that has most opened my mind to new opportunities and possibilities. And we can live vicariously through the work of others.

    Hey! I've been watching some of your videos and when I clicked on the first one, I actually thought you were from Mexico. You put out this vibe you're talking about that reminds me of some people I know here: driven, hard-working, thoughtful and warm. I just wanted to mention that. By the way, if you're missing the forest, you should go to El Desierto de los Leones, its a little woodsy place that's actually in the city. I don't know if you've been but it's really beautiful!

    The way you talked about the experience, an opportunity to learn and grow by yourself rather than it being a success or a failure, is really positive and realistic at the same time! I think it's the best approach to embrace change and new places and possibilities, and I definitely want to focus more on the growth than on the good or bad of new experiences in the future.

    I wish I were like you. My parents, who are Asian and conservative, are forcing me to stay in their hometown and to study in college I can't afford with a major I detest. I want to live my OWN life, but after a series of arguments and my attempts to persuade my parents, I have lost my control of my life and instead, my life and my future are controlled by my authoritative parents. I have big dreams like you, Nathaniel, but I can't pursue them.

      As a parent, I always tell my kids to work in something that makes them happy and fulfill, if school and having a career makes you happy by all means do it. But is school is not your thing there's is plenty of opportunities in life.
      I have 2 boys one loves school, the other one not so much, whatever they want to do is fine with me, the only thing I will not support is laziness.
