Sadia's words on diet culture are so potent. It's very easy to allow toxicity to enter different aspects of our life, but we must protect our approach to food and nutrition from that at all costs since it is quite literally what sustains and nourishes us. To think, that many people who contribute to toxic diet culture would consider all the food you ate today unhealthy because they so heavily vilify carbs- which are the brain's fuel source! Sadia's approach is amazing and she is an important voice on social media- especially with plant based eating sometimes reaching these aforementioned levels of toxicity.
You have to remember though that carbs arent the only "fuel source" for the brain. And while being afraid of them surely isn't helpful in any way, they have often shown to be the source of a lot of harm. Depends on where you get them from among other things of course but unlike fats, carbs deserve their kind of bad reputation in a lot of cases.
I really loved what Sadia said about being non judgemental when it comes to our own eating habits - got to fight what social media tells us and be compassionate to ourselves ☺️
I think that's how it should be too, people are so worried about one another not being like themselves and people get caught up in a lot of nonsense. We should just enjoy our time here and not worry about such little things, life has a lot more to it, and there are plenty of diets and ways of eating that are healthy which are also person-dependent. So yeah I completely agree
1:37 The part where she says that judgment, guilt, criticism, and shame should never be the basis of a dietary change really stood out to me. I wish they would've elaborated on that point more.
Sadia, I wanted to say to you how much I enjoyed this perspective of you and your thoughts in the video. Nathaniel drew out ;) a side of you we don’t get to see. It was so good to hear you both converse about some of the ideas behind the rationale for your channel and life, I guess. Thank you to all of you.
Best collab ever - Sadia has helped my relationship with food so much, I’m not plant based but her videos are such an amazing base of what nutrition and self care looks like.
I agree. I'm not a vegan and I do consume animal products. I grew up in a household though that we didn't base the meal around meat so it was more like a two meals per week thing. But Sadia has helped me find way to add more vegetables and things in my lifestyle and learn more. What I also love about her is that she doesn't judge she just supports and wants people to learn something. Her channel brings me comfort and makes me love food and not feel judged for what I eat.
I don’t think you understand how cool it was when I found out two of my favorite content creators not only know each other, but collaborated in a video.
The energy and the smile of Sadia are so goodhearted and loving. Really enjoyed the video, especially because I feel like I have a lot of judgement going on concerning foods. So it was a very nice reminder. Thank you Nathaniel!
I've really enjoyed this. I kinda want more of the "healthy lifestyle" content. And also I want to add, your videos are really mentally comforting. I don't know why exactly; maybe it is the type of music used or editing or everything, in general, I don't know but it's always super chill to watch your videos. Great quality, great content, thanks a lot!
It's so wonderful to see your own country through the eyes of someone else. The little streets you captured, they are so normal to me and I don't really notice them and yet now I see them captured by you and they are so peaceful and beautiful.
More colab videos?! YES PLEASE! You guys are both very inspiring. Your videos are like a break from the loudness of everyday life. I wish you the best.
Absolutely love this collab! All the food wisdom, encouragements and positivity of Sadia and amazing video editing, interesting conversations and jokes in between like we are used from Nathaniel.👏🏼 Love your work guys!!
Nathanial represents us all when after the first bite of the sandwich he says : “ is there enough bread for a second one?” Thank you for representing the people on this one Nathanial.
She’s actually how I came across your channel recently and ever since that I’ve been hooked on your content Nathaniel! You both create so much life giving content! May God continue to bless you both on your journeys! ❤️
There is so much simple joy to be found in food, and diet culture robs us of that. I love the whole theme and vibe of this video, it was fun to see you light up while cooking. Sadia is amazing, such a treat to see her here! xo
So refreshing to hear someone say "I don't love to use that word" w/ regards to "toxins" and to specify that antioxidants neutralize free radicals as opposed to vaguely "cleaning out" our bodies. Science is real and precision of language is important!
I even feel a little silly sharing this, but today while filling a form for my future job position (which starts in a week) there was this question: "If you were able to change lives with someone famous for one day, who would it be?" and after a few minutes thinking I decided to answer that I would like to change lives with you haha Not because I feel like my life is bad or because I'm unhappy, but because yours looks like such a purposeful and adventurous life, and I think this is extremely inspiring for everyone who watches your videos! Every video and every story you tell us inspire me to keep chasing the goals I have and to keep pursuing the life I want to have while still enjoying everything that is happening right now, in the present moment. Thanks a lot for that!
Wow, what a wonderfully kind thing to say. Thank you. I wish I could grant you that wish!! But I'm sure you're on your own path of purpose and adventure too :)
From someone who has struggled from an eating disorder thank you so much for content that brings a great wholesome attitude to food and it’s power to help your well-being :) also mentioning the issues of guilt and diet culture
No joke, this video is packed with so much joy. I really loved to watch you explore your culinary side. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a video this much but I mean, what did I expect? This collab is invincible. 🙃
Wow, two of my favourite youtubers under one video 😎 Bro, just watched your latest video on overthinking and control. Absolutely A+ content, keep up the good work ;)
I think my favourite part of this video was that the simple steps to eating better were less about what foods to eat and not eat, but were more about how to approach food and eating as a whole. Of course Sadia did walk us through food groups and how to have a balanced meal but I definitely think the way she pushed away the culture that the diet industry has developed (e.g. by avoiding terms like 'superfood' and 'toxin'), as well as her compassion (i.e. telling Nathaniel to not be judgmental of himself even when we all know he could do better than eating canned ravioli) are also major takeaways that shouldn't be overlooked. Nathaniel and Sadia - beautiful video! I know you've done a lot of videos together already but I can't wait to see your next collab 💚
Seeing both of you together somehow brings so much joy! Calming energies, clean and healthy voices are so soothing to the heart. Tanks a ton for a collab.
Thank you for these collaborations. While I love the topic about eating better (and language learning), I also am heartened by seeing your characteristic way of making connections with those you encounter. By asking those underlying, meaningful questions and by celebrating life with kindred spirits, you are the ‘joyous sounds of the streets of Paris’. Thank you for documenting the conversations that matter.
There's something about this video that makes me happy: healthy food, cleanliness, tidiness, them enjoying their meals and life, people's noise toward the end of the video that shows how little by little we're coming back to normality. Thanks for this gem Nathaniel and Sadia. It brought a light in my day. I'll totally check Sadia's website. I'm so excited! Have a great life guys.
I feel so much better since I choose to go plant-based! firstly, my physical health has improved so much. secondly, it boosts my mental health since I know I'm nourishing my body properly.
Nathaniel, I'm really glad I found you. I've been feeling so lost, kind of hopeless and not living the things I thought I would be living at my early 20's. But with your videos and therapy I've found the strength to move forward in life and try to be more companionate with myself. Thank you from Colombia.
This was such a relatable video. Struggling to cook or nourish by yourself in a proper way is such an underrated topic and I love seeing another popular youtube speak up about it.
This video is beyond adorable! I am a big fan of both you and Sadia, subscribed to both, so this is a happy video for me. I am also adding my vote into learning Dutch video please. I live in Belgium and struggle so much with this language.
Hey Nathaniel, I know your probably not gonna see this because your very busy and probably have thousands of other people messaging you, but I would you just like to say you are my idol and a massive inspiration for me with what you do. When I am older I want to be like you to travel the world and experience new cultures and society’s. At the moment I am 12 and I am teaching myself German 🇩🇪. And all you videos and hard work are really helping me, and thousands of other people with their language learning. So I just want to say thank you 🙏 and have a good day. Bye! 😊
this is so wonderful, would love for you and sadia to do a part two and three! without effort sadia shares loads of helpful tidbits that are so helpful and informative. pure gold
I love seeing my two favourite wholesome youtubers colab this much!! 😍😍 I smile with every video you both make individually; these ones, I'm grinning non stop
Pickuplimes is probably my favourite plant based channel! There's something as you said Nathaniel, compassionate and comforting when watching Sadia cook and give advice on diet. Brilliant video once again 😉
Love you both, perfect collaboration. Thank you for reminding me that I shouldn't be harsh on myself with food, because enjoyment is equally important as health and nutrition.
Thank you Nathaniel and Sadia! Right after the video I cooked One-Pot Tomato Lentil Pasta from Sadia's website - and it's a-m-a-z-i-n-g 🤤 Definitely recommend you to try it out

That was such a great video. Thank you so much for making a video on such an important topic, I think you might have made a very positive impact on many people's lives!
"HE NEVER DOUBTED YOU!"

man, nutrition is so cool
with there only being 3 macronutrients, it's scary that so many people are scared of one of them. many are scared of 2
👏👏

Why am I crying over her telling him not to feel guilty for eating ravioli? Amazing
1:37 The part where she says that judgment, guilt, criticism, and shame should never be the basis of a dietary change really stood out to me. I wish they would've elaborated on that point more.
She has a video called Making peace with food she talks more about it

I'd think your plate has a higher percentage of plants than it did before though, no?

Can’t wait for Nathaniels inevitable “I Learned Dutch in 7 Days” video
And then a video about Dutch making no sense
I'd love for him to tackle another Germanic language besides English.
Yes please! I live in Belgium and struggle like crazy with Dutch!
@@gasly1018 He should learn a scandinavian language
That would be the dream of my life. Him going to the Netherlands was already mind blowing for me.
Every time Nathaniel and Sadia do something together my heart just explodes! Love both of them SO MUCH. Seeing them interact is such a treat!
nathaniel being himself is literally like an introvert becoming comfortable around a person… except instead of a person, this time it’s youtube
love you bro
The energy and the smile of Sadia are so goodhearted and loving.
Really enjoyed the video, especially because I feel like I have a lot of judgement going on concerning foods. So it was a very nice reminder.
