My time in Mexico has come to an end. I’ve had incredible good fortune since the moment I stepped foot in this country. However, I feel like it's time to make a change and that is why I am leaving.
Thank you to everyone who played a role either in person or online. I’m being so unnecessarily dramatic right now but I don’t even care.

There isnt an expectancy for character based on the pigment of your skin unless you have tunnel vision people will respond to your character not your skin color.

Hey Nathaniel - just wanted to say I loved this video and can definitely relate to the feeling of having to top yourself with every new project or video while sticking to a rigid schedule. That's a pretty good descriptor of much of my time on UA-cam as well - any time I'd learn a new technique or make some crazy animation, I'd think that I had to use it in everything going forward or else I'd be failing people's expectations. It got pretty stressful.
I eventually learned that most of what I believed people expected of me was just a projection of my own unrealistic expectations, and getting past that has been really helpful. And after learning that, I can say that - at least from my experience - there's almost no downside to allowing an ebb and flow between really ambitious projects and more stripped-down ones (which often somehow become the most popular).
Anyway, I'm excited to see where you're headed next!

"I'm starting to think that life is a cycle of being stuck until you're unstuck, till you're stuck again. And as much as anyone one of us would maybe wish it would be different, I think it's an inescapable part of being human." I've been sitting here just absorbing that particular wisdom for the last 10 minutes. Great stuff man.

I'm in the middle of my 20s and struggling to make sense after a break from a longlife belief system... Your videos are helping me to seek for creative ways to move on and be closer to my true self.
I don't know what kind of women you were aiming to be attractive for, but you are immensely handsome to anyone who is able to see your beautiful soul. No need to say you're phisically way too attractive. By the way, inteligence makes you hotter than the average.
Well, I'm talking too much here... lol. Keep the good work, Nate. I hope this new place brings the best out of you as always. 💟

Really honest and insightful video. Everyone struggles with comparison and the nagging feeling of needing to one-up yourself with every project we do. It’s awesome that you have such a keen self awareness and emotional intelligence, and that you were able to trace the origins of these feelings to a time when you felt insecure. Please know that you are enough just how you are, and that it’s wonderful that you know that your mental health always should take priority. Kudos to you for realizing what you need to push forward in your life and to take some weight off your shoulders. Your channel will only be stronger for it. Wishing you all the best in your new adventure! 😊✨✨✨

Monica Herd I’ve struggled with height as a girl for years (I’m 5’10”) and I was actually told by a guy (who was taller than me) that guys don’t like tall girls. But, I’ve come to terms with my height and I don’t care if I end up with someone shorter than me because I’ve learned that it doesn’t matter.
And you’re right, Nathaniel is very handsome!

Thank you, Nathaniel. When you mentioned your work becoming directly linked to yourself, that triggered me intensely because I lived through the same experience where I was worried that I had nothing to compare to other people except the quality of my creative work, specifically in music. I spent years in a psychological torment, hiding myself away from the rest of the world because I tried to work so hard to prove myself and my self-worth. In many ways, I still live in this sort of torment, and I have to restrict myself from working in order to prevent myself from working so hard. Thank you for talking about this - it actually helped me realize how at some point, it gets better. Thank you.

Sorry to see you go man, honestly I’m kind of new on your channel, I arrived like a month ago when UA-cam recommended me the “A video for introverts “ footage, cause that’s certainly what I am, and trust me, content like yours is missing in my country, there’s a lack of mental health awareness, even though your videos are in English (Now I know you learned not only Spanish but Mexican slang quite well though) what I found totally engaging were your shots or time lapses of Mexican streets, people, monuments, places, food, etc, etc. The detail you display in your edition is insane. I follow other mental health content in English from other countries and it’s helpful to listen that stuff, but listening your thoughts while watching on screen the same things I see on a daily basis is simply priceless, cause I feel even more understood, I’m glad you surrounded yourself with the Mexican environment and shared your experience with us, I only enjoyed a few recent videos of you in my country but I’ll check out the older ones and of course follow your journey from now on, it’s a shame I arrived kinda late, but I don’t wanna be selfish, other places also are in need and deserve having someone like you spreading the word. Good luck man and...Nathan! Hermano! Ya eres Mexicano! 🇲🇽💪🏼

It also may cause for you to actually enjoy the project you are producing. Like actually living the moment that your filming. And it’s good to actually relive within you mind than seeing it through a camera. Your trying so hard to capture the moment through a lens for everyone else. That you fail to capture it yourself for you. And even through it would look amazing in camera. Even if you would feel 100% amazing that you captured that. You may not think of it at first but you will notice slightly you actually didn’t live the moment. At least this is how I have perceived most of before. I’ve been wanting to pick up the camera but now I forget. And now I’m looking to go back to those memories but have captured nothing on film or photos. So now it’s like necessary to find a balance. Blessing to you bro. Much respect.

From 2:12 onwards, I relate to you 100%. It's very easy to get sucked into thinking your work-ethic/work is quantifiable to self. I had to totally let go of my creative craft (that I honed for 7 years) as I invested such toxic amount of time quantifying my self-worth. Also which robbed off most of my teenage years' thrill. Hope you get to where you're going with peace, self-love and ease. 🙏🏼

Nat, I hope you really enjoyed your time in Mexico. Would have liked to meet you, since we live in Mexico City, and show you some interesting places here. Maybe next time you come back. I'm sure you discovered and learned many things in this country, and somehow we'll be in touch because we will continue watching your videos. I wish you all the best for your next projects!

    Hey buddy,
First of all, thank you for your videos. I've been following you since you blew up and the way you talk and create content gives me a lot of peace of mind plus I enjoy your perspective and how detailed you are. I understand what you explained about yourself and I have some advice too, in case you read this comment. I think that part that you are missing out, that makes you feel "not attractive" and links your soul with the result of your work is the lack of physical activity (among some other personal stuff that no one knows but you of course). I don't know if you do (or have done) any proper sports like some kind of martial arts, calisthenics or crossfit. It might sound "too Chad" but trust me when I tell you that involving yourself in a physical activity that takes you out of your comfort zone and makes you feel like you're reaching your body limits can become an interesting way to grow personally too. Don't understimate the simple power of physical activity and the bond you can create between the sport and you, your master and you or your sportmates and you. This is a good way to remind ourselves that we are still humans so we can spend a whole day recording, editing and managing social media but ending that day (or starting it) by sweating, using your body in a smart way and giving a great rest to your mind that will allow you to have a wider perspective day by day.
This comment has just an honest intention to help or give you some feedback, since you dedicate your life to help others I think it's interesting that we also take care of you.
If you want to talk about this or whatever feel free to hit me up on Instagram @renezz or straight to my email address: reneolmoponte@gmail.com
I'm not a coach or anything. Just a friend.
    Have a good day everyone

Dude. I’m 20, in college, also learning, also realizing so many of the same things as you constantly. Learning already not to push myself so hard, that I need time to recuperate - that simply doing what’s good for me isn’t enough when I need the time to mess up and be emotional and not on such a rigid schedule. I found you through learning languages. I agree with a lot of your views and appreciate what you do, fella.

Thank you Nathaniel for your videos. These days, they are the ones that I always enjoy to watch. I think everyone goes through a difficult phase when we are teenagers. I don’t know what you’ve been through during these years but what I can tell you is that you’ve turned to a great person who takes care of himself, tries to understand and improve who you are, and that’s absolutely marvellous.
When I see you, I think falling in love with you shouldn’t be too difficult.
I’m sure you will find someone great to share your life with !

Wow... I just recently subscribed to your channel and you are totally an inspiration to me. I’m going to be 38 in a few months and I’ve had a change of heart from place to place since I was 17 yrs old. I have to say being in LA as long as I’ve been has been the longest, sometimes I definitely feel it’s time for another change. However, I also wonder if maybe I’m too old to keep jumping from place to place. Watching this really makes me want to pick some place in Mexico to live because I love that country, the people, the food, everything it has to offer. I feel like I’m stuck right now. I also recently experienced a breakup (it was short lived but it really affected me) that I guess has me feeling like I need to start fresh. Somewhere new. Idk what to do or how to go about this. Thanks for your update, wishing you luck wherever your next destination is.

I think many of us, if not all, see you/your work as living art. You are an awesome artist. You have inspired. And watching what comes next with you is like unlocking potential within myself. You emanate how to accept who you are with confidence even though you say you struggle with that. AND, I would have had no idea what your height is if you had not shared it. Value comes from being a person, not a tall, short, thin, heavy, male, female, scarred, flawless, young, old person, but just by being a person. “You is kind. You is smart. You is important.” The Help

Nathan, thank you for sharing you personal story with your insecurities. You truly inspire me A LOT. Life is all about living and you are doing that, by being in Mexico, making these amazing videos, and breaking cycles by changing your environment, it really creates this atmosphere of change and that’s really motivating for all of us as viewers! I would love to meet you one day and thank you in person because your videos bring a smile to my face and I’m happy to have the same name as you! -Nathan 😁

So much respect to you for giving yourself the freedom to not post weekly, if need be. People need breaks. You're a great human, my dude. You more than deserve it.
Honestly, I don't think anyone who actually appreciates the value you bring to the table will have a problem with that. The heads up is incredibly courteous of you too.
Thank you for being real. Your work is meaningful. It brings me genuine joy to hear your thoughts, your concerns, your dreams. I always feel like I can grow from watching and reflecting on your videos. That shit is ridiculous. An absolute blessing. I'm rooting for you all the way Nathaniel.
